Services
All West Veterinary Hospital was founded in Bozeman, Montana by Dr. Gary Cook in 1984. It has been a lifetime passion for Dr. Cook, who has grown the practice to become an excellent full service hospital for all species. The practice includes seven veterinarians and an outstanding support staff, who have all gone into this field of work with one common goal; to put our energy, compassion and heart into every patient we treat each day. We look forward to working with you and your pet. Life history: Dr. Gary is a 4th generation Gallatin Valley native.
We are an equine hospital equipped to handle equine emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are here to provide your horse with comprehensive care for all life stages. We offer everything from wellness exams and preventive care, to advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries performed by a surgeon with board certification (ACVS).
Many of the procedures listed below are performed by staff veterinarians in our large animal surgery suite. Several of the more advanced procedures are performed by a world class board certified surgeon that visits the hospital on a regular basis. At AWVH we believe that dental health in the horse is a very important component of preventive care.
Dr. Karyn Cook and Dr. Shari Bearrow have a unique skill set to care for exotic pets at AWVH. They work with reptiles, pocket pets, birds of prey, chickens and more! Imaging modalities available for other species, such as digital x-ray, are also available for exotic species. Some in-house bloodwork is performed, and other laboratory work is sent out.

It's unfortunate I have to leave at least 1 star in order to leave a review. This place doesn't deserve the star. Have been going there, so they know our dog. Called multiple times to not have a single call back until the following day, to be told "Ok." Someone needs to teach customer service & empathy to these people.

My horse came down really sick and we called to see what was wrong with him they said he had went lame, and they kept giving him more pain meds, then two weeks after he died. They Never listened to us when we said we wanted to have tests done on him to see if there was something else wrong. We had a different vet come to check on another one of our horses that came down sick with the same thing and they ran tests, turns out he had liver damage not lame.

I bring my rats, bearded dragon and (if i ever have the need to) my ball python. They have been nothing but helpful and compassionate in every interaction i have had with them! I also work at petco, and they see any animals that come to us sick, or that comes BACK to us sick like they are their own pets. Fantastic to work with, and obviously genuinly care for the animals they work with!
