In 1995, Dr Audrey and her husband Peter decided to renovate the carriage house attached to their 18th century colonial home and open Fremont Animal Hospital. The hope was that by converting the carriage house into an animal hospital located in a beautiful small town country setting they would be able to provide a warm and welcoming environment for pets and their owners.
Dr. Audrey Karamourtopoulos is a 1987 graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Before opening Fremont Animal Hospital in 1995, she practiced medicine for 8 years at Bulger Veterinary Hospital in North Andover, MA. Dr Audrey is a passionate and dedicated veterinarian who also enjoys the challenges of difficult internal medicine cases and she is a very skilled surgeon.
Grace is Registered Veterinary Technician. Originally from New Jersey, she has worked at veterinary practices in NJ, HI, CA and MA before joining the staff at FAH. Grace lives in Sandown with her husband, two young sons, and dog Bodhi. Chris was a veterinary technician at a MA animal hospital for several years before joining FAH.

We chose Fremont Animal Hospital based on a recommendation from a friend for our new puppy. We were very happy with the experience. Everyone in the office that we met were very kind. The veterinarian was very knowledgeable with the breed (Yorkshire terrier). We asked questions a-z, some even considered silly ones, but were never made to feel silly. We are happy we choose this Veterinarian!

Dr. Audrey has been amazing to work with. She is so knowledgeable and caring with every interaction. Our cat Willow got the best possible care, and she was gentle and patient with us when we came forward with numerous questions. By keeping us so informed, she made a very tough decision an easy one. We are so glad we trusted Dr. Audrey's advice, as the outcome was incredible!
I believe we were able to improve Willow's quality of life tremedously, and we never felt pressured or judged by our decisions with her care. Thank you so much Dr. Audrey & team!

Yesterday our 14 year old cat had to be euthanized. From the moment our phone call was picked up, to the moment the staff opened a side door for us to privately leave the office, the entire staff was professional, caring and quietly brought us through the process. We cannot say enough about Dr. Audra (sp?) her compassion for her patients and their families, made everything just a little more comfortable.

When your pup just absolutely loves going to the vet, you know they are great people that not only love what they do, but also care about everyone that walks through their door. For everyday check ups and emergencies, they are always there for us. Thank you to the great staff at Fremont Animal Hospital

Have been going here for less than a year. They continue to exceed my expectations. My boys just got neutered last week and the staff as always was awesome. They kept me informed and provided me information so we didn't feel alone when we got home. And my boys are always happy to get inside, to me that is the best barometer. Thank you!

Dr Audrey and the staff were absolutely amazing, we had to put our dog to sleep after she was battling lymphoma and chemo didn’t work for her. When I called and explained my pups breathing was declining they got us in immediately. Dr Audrey truly loves the animals as if they are her own, she is so compassionate.

Our pup was a rescue from DRU and spent several weeks at Fremont Hosp being cared for by Dr. Audrey and Claire from DRU. Our pup has special place in the heart of Dr. Audrey and our hearts as you all can imagine. Our pup LOVES Dr. Audrey and you can tell that the two of them have a special bond. Dr. Audrey and her staff are professional, compassionate, kind, and we leave our girl with anyone else.

Thank you to the the whole team for taking great care of our sweet Layla, helping her to avoid surgery for a blockage! Everyone including her is so happy she’s home safe and sound. I make a 30 minute drive to bring my dogs here, Dr. baker was the vet for my family growing up as well.
I’ve had other vet clinics deem my 9 year old chocolate lab “extremely aggressive” when trying to get blood draws.
They wanted to sedate him. So I went looking for Dr. Baker. My “extremely aggressive” chocolate lab came in to see him, he didn’t even muzzle him and my dog didn’t put up even a little fight. These people genuinely care for animals l know my dogs can sense it.

Fremont Animal Hospital dropped us as customers because I criticized their "mask requirement in the parking lot policy". These people are rude and incompetent. They Overbook all their appointments and make you wait forever to be seen. Now they have you park in spaces outside in front of the barn and wait in your car. No rest room, no ability to accompany your pet into their appointment. and on top of all that they require you to wear a mask to interface with them in time parking lot.
Last night I was told by their Dr. Garland last night that my dog has a cancerous tumor that has to be removed, but I wasn't given any details on how much time he has, or when they would be able to expedite his surgery. All that the Dr. said was "we will email you a quote to the email on file. I told her my dog has great anxiety waiting extended periods out in the parking lot for his appointment when we were on time, she told me "he is just fine".
My wife called this morning to get the quote and schedule his surgery and they said they are dropping us. My wife has had two cats pass away under their care. She wasn't the one at the appointment last night providing feedback, why were her pets dropped by FAH? Seek another Vet!

Dr Audrey, Dr Baker, Jodi, Peggy, Alicia and ALL the staff at Fremont Animal Hospital have been nothing but amazing to deal with. They have provided the best care for all of our pets every single time we went there. I am beyond happy with the service that we receive. I will take every one of my pets there and know that they will be taken care of by a friendly and compassionate staff. Simply the best out there.

I was surprised to read the negative review of Dr. Baker. We have had him many times over the last few years and have always found him to be very caring. He always takes the time to explain his thoughts and lays out options moving forward. We continue to return to FAH with no reservation about who we see.

Not sure how my first review was removed. Hmm. Anyway I had written that our visit with Dr. Baker was not very impressive. Didn't seem to care about anything other than doing more tests for our dog. No advice or anything regarding her disease. When we left we realized that neither Dr. Baker nor his staffed asked about our dog's behavior, eating habits, exercise habits or discussed anything other than the two symptoms we mentioned.
So odd! I then soon saw a reply posted from someone there named Peter stating that the doctor spent lots of time with our dog. First off, he didn't--we spent most of the time waiting for him to return to the room which was not a problem as he had to read the test results but let's get the facts straight. Secondly, that was totally not the point.
Dear Peter: Please read the facts before responding. You were not in the examining room unless you were hiding somewhere and we didn't see you. You didn't witness our experience so don't sugar coat it. We were not happy. Maybe the other doctor/doctors are great. This one didn't appear to be a caring, concerned vet to us and that is a fact.

I have received nothing but quality and ethical treatment for my pets at Fremont Animal Hospital. The staff are friendly and accommodating and my pup truly feels that, she cuddles right in when I leave her to be boarded. The medical care my pup receives has been top notch. Dr. Baker and Dr. Audrey truly are compassionate, caring professionals. I see some not so great reviews here, but I assure you, if you are looking for a veterinarian that you can trust, a truly satisfying relationship can be built at FAH.

As a Fremont resident, i wish this vet worked for me for convenience sake. i have had MULTIPLE less than par experiences here. the first visit with my dog the Dr. was okay, not very friendly, not to mention no one at front desk said anything to me when i walked into the building or after the doctor brought me to the front. Another day at the vet that pushed me to look for someone new, was after she DRAGGED my dog into a room i wasn't able to be with her in the doctor (mind you, not the vet i was previously acquainted with) handed me the leash and walks away without saying a word to me. SO disappointed in the way myself and my pet were treated. i hope they don't treat everyone this was.

This vet tested my pets at a kennel and performed tests without my permission or knowledge. Audrey left a bill for tests showed that my pets tested positive and she charged me $50.00 for tests that were not authorized days after my young sons death. I was not allowed to have my dogs from this kennel until I paid. She would not provide meds or a script for these dogs.
I thought it was fishy and had then tested elsewhere and they came back as negative. She used the false results for a shelter she was on the board. Conveniently, this shelter is owned by the ACO of a local town, Sandown NH. The False information was given by the ACO to the the person I purchased my dog from and as a result the dog was stolen. The vet results of the dogs visit in another state 14 hours away show no parasites. Beware of this vet.
Please remove the comment below as it is False as well as Slander Peter K. It is not your business according to the state of NH Llc standards. Secondly obviously you did not get the details correct. We will just add your wife's business onto the list

I really wanted this to work out. but I never felt comfortable with the vet or the office staff. On the first visit I was charged twice for 2 different items (they did promptly correct but hmmm, wondered how that happened). I brought our Yorkie in for his annual and then twice more for a problem with his cruciate ligament. Now I am going to bring him to a vet that is closer to our home and I called the office to fax his records over.
The only thing they will fax without a charge are his vaccinations, there is a $10 charge for anything else. Please be aware that it seems like they need money. I called Angell in Boston for his records there and there wasn't any charge. I've had dogs for years and never paid for records to be sent anywhere.

My dog stayed here for a week while I was on vacation. She had lost a huge amount of weight and was severely dehydrated when I picked her up. We were in shock! Whisked her out of there after paying close to $600. Sold me drugs for her which I already had. I requested the records from her stay with them and was told they could take up to 10 days to be faxed to my vet in Dover.
I was very concerned about her condition and told the staff at Fremont animal hospital I thought my dog was dying and I desperately needed the records! Made several more phone calls. No success. My vet called. Eventually, days later, we got the records but my dog did not make it. This vet in Fremont never mentioned weight loss or dehydration. Someone was not paying attention. We are heart broken. This place was horrible!

Pro's: convenient location, staff okay, grooming is good Con's: PRICE! EXPENSIVE! You get charged for every little thing. $48 just to walk in the door for your pet's shot appointment (office visit). Then then shots, then the lab work, then the flea/tick products. It is very expensive overall. And if you have questions, they do not call you back. Asked 3 times for a dental quote, and never got it to me. Boarding: they charge for half days, so do not think you'll pay for each "night" or 24 hour period that your dog is there. They get you by charging for more than the time your dog is actually there. They are nice, but they are twice as expensive as my sister's vet for the same offerings.

Dr. Clay Baker is a horrible vet. He brings his life into work and really shows it. Your supposed to be professional when you represent a facility. Not only that he pays little details to my kitten. Very cute fella and now isn't doing so well because they overlooked my cat for too long! He didn't make me feel welcome in the facility and I don't think I will ever be returning! IF I had not dealt with this vet than I don't think I would view this way of the facility. May be a good work place just poor service and neglect from Dr. baker. Don't use him as your vet if you care about the health of your animal!

Furious, but I'll just lay out the facts. Our cat had a cancerous tumor in her jaw. She was in severe pain and dying. We brought her into FAH to be euthanized on 9/12/13. The vet gave our cat an injection into her muscle. Our cat did not die. Injected her several times over the course of an hour and a half, our cat did not die. Finally after many tears the vet injected her into a vein and our cat passed. An hour and thirty minutes. I will NEVER subject ANY animal to this establishment again.

I have a female holland lop bunny. I searched all local vets in a 50 mile radius for the vet with most experience in bunny spays. Dr Audrey seemed to be the one. The spay went as expected - no complications. The bunnies external stitches ripped open - she likely bit them open. I brought her back to get them fixed and was surprised that the vet uses glue (probably super glue) to close the skin - I could have done that myself had I known.
I won't give the staff (phone/desk help) high grades for comforting pet owners or even being very nice but the doctors seemed knowledgeable in bunny care - I did much research before hand and tested the doctors with some bunny questions - Dr Audrey was very knowledgeable and has likely performed the most spays in the S NH area. We also met with Dr Chag and she seemed reasonably experienced with bunnies.
