The staff at Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital works to get to know each patient and their lifestyle and provide the preventative care that best fits their needs. Our team of veterinarians and technicians stay up to date on the most recent advances in veterinary medicine through continuing education and updating medical protocols as needed. We strive to provide options for care based upon what is best for both the patient and their family. The veterinarians and assistants provide hands-on nursing care and strive to keep each patient clean, calm, and comfortable in the hospital.

Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital was established at its current location in September of 1972. It was originally founded by Dr. James Stark and Dr. Dan Betts. Dr. Stark remained at Colonial Terrace for 38 years, until his death in 2010. Throughout that time, many changes and updates occurred as the practice grew.
We offer individualized pet wellness plans, that include the many aspects of preventative care your dog or puppy will need through their lifetime. Different dogs will have different lifestyle needs, and so we have a few different plan options to choose from. The Rabies and Distemper / Adenovirus / Parvovirus/ Parainfluenza vaccinations are something all puppies should have. The DAPP vaccine is started around the time your puppy is weaned at 6-8 weeks, while the rabies is administered after 12 weeks of age.
Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital offers wellness packages that include everything your kitten will need during that first year. Kittens have different needs than adults, and our cat veterinary clinic understands that. As cats grow and their lifestyle is established, sometimes their vaccination needs may change.
This Wellness Plan is designed to help fit the needs of you and your cat! Every cat is different, so this plan gives benefits that will assist all cats to stay healthy! Get the vaccine boosters your cat needs - the more vaccines your cat needs, the greater the savings. This plan includes up to one booster of each of the following vaccines, as necessary by your pet: Rabies, FVRCP, FeLV.

The staff has consistently been professional and engaging. The messages are always relayed in a timely manner and we have consistently received return calls during both regular office hours and off hours. They show genuine care and concern for the animals - we have a dog and a hamster. Was disappointed that the boarding service was discontinued, however, understand that they wanted to focus on the clinic side of the business.

The young lady who assisted the doctor did an excellent job with Jasper. You could tell she loved animals. There can not possibly be a better doctor than Dr. Kylee Bessine. She just loved Jasper to death while giving him his many vaccines. She showed his comfort meant a lot to her while giving all those shots. Then, she just loved him up and loved him up. She surely did not need to do this. I sat back and enjoyed the interaction between Jasper and her.

This is not my owner talking. He's typing on his thingamajiggy smartphone on my behalf. I'm Ruby Sue. He named me after a character in Christmas Vacation. Love that movie. There's a funny dog in it named "Snot." That scene with the squirrel in the Christmas tree? My favorite scene. You may be surprised to know I really don't mind going to the vet, especially Colonial Terrace.
They are gentle, have treats. I was there last Monday. I had to get two vaccinations, rabies and rubella. One was a squirt (smelled kinda good and didn't taste awful) the other was a shot. I swear I didn't even feel the needle! How is this possible? The doctor and assistant were very thorough for a routine shot party. They took their time, checked me all over especially examining my ears.
They discovered (OMG!) I have a slight yeast infection. I have been scratching them a lot lately, and she prescribed an ear wash and an antibiotic. Because they are so supremely organized, employing the awesome Pet Desk app, and using text and email to keep "the Master" informed of appointments, this visit would have been a lot shorter. But my owner had a bunch of questions as usual (sure he talks too much, but he loves and feeds me). Nonetheless, I can't believe how patient that doctor was. "Hey, Dog Lover, give Colonial Terrace five stars, and would it kill you to open the window a crack on the ride home?"
