Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.

My family has been taking our cats to see Dr. Weckel since she opened. My first encounter with her was when I was 17 and our new tabby broke her leg from catching her claw on the couch when falling. Stephanie and her staff took such good care of her. She was also with her when we had to put her down in 2012 due to a genetic lung disease. Unfortunately I was unaware our cat was being euthanized, and my parents made the regrettable decision to not be with her, so Stephanie and a vet tech made sure to hold her and love her in her final moments.
I will never forget that kindness and empathy, or the emotional toll it takes to do that for someone else. Now, as 31 year old wife and mother, I still go see Stephanie, her partner and staff for my cats. The entire staff is so dedicated to animals in general. On two occasions, the staff has offered to foster infant kittens I had come across. One of them was even adopted by another staff member, so I get to see his progress at our appointments! If you want honestly compassionate care, I highly recommend Weckel.

We are from out of town but needed a Cytopoint injection for our dog's allergies. They were able to get him in last second due to a same day cancellation. They even agreed to see my other dog and get them both caught up on their yearly vaccinations. Even with all of my crazy last minute requests, everyone I talked to was super nice. Everyone wore masks and I waited in my car the whole time, and Dr Weckel took the time to come out and go over everything with me afterwards. They were great with both dogs.

My dog had two emergencies in the first couple of months after we moved to Salina. During the second, more serious one, he was in very severe pain. Dr Weckel got Bronson in to the clinic within a couple of hours after I first called her office. Her examination, diagnosis and treatment plan were all right on the money. She also managed his pain while he recovered. Dr Weckel is a knowledgeable, experienced and empathetic doctor.
The staff at her clinic are all well-trained, friendly, hard-working people; all of them are clearly animal lovers! I will never take a pet to any veterinarian other than Doctor Weckel for as long as I am in Salina.

Absolutely fantastic. Dr. Weckel and her staff are amazing! They are very dedicated and have the pet's best interest in mind for all treatments and care. They also have excellent handling of the animals, including being "cat whisperers" for those fiendishly difficult (scared/aggressive) cats. They also recognize that the owners are sometimes stressed and scared, too, helping them to try to be calm and to keep us informed. They dedicate lots of time and expertise into caring for our companions. Would not take my pets elsewhere.
