We started going to Mountain View Veterinary after bringing our senior pup in for an emergency visit, and we wish we had known about them sooner! We had a sweet senior pup (Thor) who had a previously undiagnosed eye condition progress very quickly overnight and Mountain View was the first place who could get us in for an emergency visit the next day.
The eye ultimate needed to be removed and Dr. Hillegass was amazing and the surgery went perfectly. A few months later, we found out the other eye needed to be removed because of the same condition. Dr. Hillegass was super helpful in talking us through all our questions and made us feel comfortable that Thor would be able to adjust well to being blind, which he did!
We were impressed with how quickly the second surgery healed and Thor was back to being his incredibly happy and energetic self, even for a 13 year old yorkie. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when we noticed some odd behaviors in Thor, which was diagnosed as early signs of dementia. Dr. Hillegass was incredibly compassionate as well as informative when she walked us through our all our options, and took into account the quality of life of the pet as well as the owners.
We ultimately felt it was time for Thor to cross the rainbow bridge, but the staff at Mountain View made it as easy as it could have possibly been. They provided detailed information of what to expect, they handled all payment and paperwork before the euthanasia so that we didn't have to worry about it afterwards, they provided resources on dealing with grief, and a week or two later we received a card in the mail with handwritten notes from all of the staff members that included Thor's nose prints.
Mountain View does everything they can to make sure your pet is comfortable and relaxed. Thor never seemed overly anxious when we went to Mountain View, which was not the case when he visited his previous vet. Even after the trauma of losing two eyes there, he was noticeably calmer going to Mountain View. I also feel that their billing process was very fair and honest.
We were bracing for crushing bills after two surgeries, but we were relieved that although vet bills are never cheap, it seemed very reasonable compared to stories I've heard. They also provided us with a very detailed itemized quote before both of his surgeries, and clearly explained things that were optional that we could opt out of to reduce the cost.
A few things on the optional list they strongly recommend to do our dog's circumstances, but they gave us the information and let us make the decision based on what we felt was best for our dog and our budget. I seriously cannot recommend Mountain View veterinary enough. The staff is incredible and they truly made one of the roughest six months of our family as easy as they could have. We will always be grateful for the amazing care they gave to our little guy and the compassion they have for pets and their humans.

We came to the veterinarian because we had heard that they were some of the best surgeons in the valley. We had a very positive experience with our dogs orthopedic surgery. We found Dr. Israelson to be very professional and kind no complaints. When we had to take our dog in for an allergic reaction I was quite surprised to find that we still had to wait outside and we're not allowed to come in to comfort our pets.
That put me on alert. However this weekend, when my precious Little dog was hit by a car and I reached out to my veterinarian, the one I have paid thousands and thousands of dollars to, and surgeries, and vaccinations, emergency visits during their hours- to find that they don't care about your animals after 5 PM. That they refer you to a veterinarian over an hour away in an emergency situation! Disgusting absolutely disgusting!
My animal died, there may have been some hope, and even if there wasn't the trauma that my family went through waiting to get care, Having to hold my dying animal in my hand while trying to find a veterinarian that cared was disgusting. We will be finding another vet, this is not OK!

Their no office entry car side only policy made it so that the last time I saw my cat alive was when I handed him to the vets assistant. I was forced to worry in my car with phone calls about how serious his condition was until he finally had a fatal seizure, after which they decided I could come inside to see him. I don't care about COVID I wanted to be by his side when he died.
It's 2022, most people are vaccinated and these policies are detrimental. Service otherwise was excellent, I just recommend finding somewhere that allows you to be with your pets.

Overall great service, professional, and took care of my pet. They do try and sell their pet plan which I would suggest not to enroll in it. It is a contract, and they say that you get tons of services that equate out to saving more than spending. If you want a neuter, you have to pay the difference monthly to equate out to the price anyways. It gives a slight discount on grooming which is nice, but paying $79.99 a month for 12 months doesn't really equate out to what I received in services. Other than the pet wellness plan, I wouldn't take them anywhere else.

I am really disappointed with this office. I called to reserve a boarding appointment for my dog a while ago and at the same time scheduled what he needed for vaccinations so that he would have them done beforehand. Today they called me and they had reserved his boarding a month earlier than I had wanted to book it for and they were wanting to move his vaccines up due to that which confused me until I realized they had done my boarding reservation wrong.
They no longer had any openings. I have no choice to bring my dog with me so it caused a lot of stress for me momentarily, but thankfully I was able to get him booked elsewhere. My dog was happy the couple times I boarded with them at their Providence location, but this was very disappointing and I didn't understand how they could be confused about booking his vaccines before his boarding, but not realize the date his vaccines were booked would be after they booked me.
It made no sense to me that they wouldn't have realized that right off the bat. I have also had issues in the past asking them for more affordable options for certain things for my dog and them recommending even higher priced options which always had me rolling my eyes. I brushed it off before because it wasn't a big enough deal since I just refused the more expensive options they offered. Again, I don't know where the confusion is in asking for a more affordable option and they give more expensive? It all just doesn't make sense to me and I will be going elsewhere from now on.

I love, love, love the veterinarians at this clinic. My dog, Zeus, has cancer and they have been extremely helpful, knowledgable, and always give me the time and care we need to have our questions answered. We were going to a different local vet before Mountain View and the service wasn't even close to Mountain View's service. BRING YOUR DOGS HERE - they are PAWSOME!
