Linda was a fabulous employee that who was the highlight of everyone's day. She let everyone around her feel her love and light. We loved Linda very much. She was always the first to greet the clients and the animals just adore her. Linda had a very special way with animals that always puts them at ease.

I am from Houston, took Uncles two dogs for a bath. I called the day of, mind you on a Saturday! They were all sooooo kind and considerate! I am still shocked they were able to accommodate! These dogs have probably never been bathed (uncle is 75 and disabled), these dogs are different and happy babies now! They did a phenomenal job getting these two bathed and even suggested some things we need to do once we get him moved to Houston. Please consider this business. Wish this vet and grooming location was back home!

This was where we took our family dog. They were reasonable and affordable. The only complaint I have is of when our dog took a turn for the worse at 11 years old. I came in asking for hospice care and only received information to go to another Dr. She didn't ask me why or what we were going through. The vet bill just to check if she was diabetic was as much as I could have put her down peacefully for. Instead a month after going blind, she was sneezing and bleeding from her nose and could not breathe well. Finally the humane society took her and put her down. Alecia

One star is way way way too high of a rating for this clinic. About a year to a year and a half ago this so called "vet" through their incompetence killed my grandpas dog. Their insensitive and POS staff gave a half assed attempt to resuscitate her and charged $100 for maybe a couple minutes of their time. They offered to take that charge off if I took my review down but never bothered to hold up their end of the deal so I am writing another review.
Good thing my grandpa called to ask how his dog was doing since my sister was supposed to pick her up after school, if he hadn't have done that she would have had to take her home in the garbage bag she was placed in. If you need to take your animal to the vet and this is for some reason the only place you can go to, don't bother might as well do anything from home, then you will know someone more competent will be taking care of your animal.

The manager at this Vet is heinous. She feeds on being able to make you miserable. I walked to the Vet and it was windy. My mask blew out of my pocket. When I showed up I opened the door a bit and told her. She said "You're going to have to wait out there". I asked if they had an extra mask: "no". Then she had someone come out and get my dog.
So if you show up in an emergency with your pet and for whatever reason you don't have a mask you either have to wait outside, not be with your beloved pet or leave. It's really sad. This isn't the first or second time I have dealt with her disgusting lack of customer service and not a drop of empathy. I'm leaving this Vet.

Do not take your pet here if you want them to be thoroughly checked out Incase of an injury. My poor puppy started limping one day after playing outside, so we brought him here for a checkup. They said they did a full checkup on his whole body and he was fine, just "sore". We saw some puss and bleeding coming from his paw pad, but figured it couldn't be anything too bad or the vet would have had to catch it.
Come to find out a few days later he had a giant hole in his paw. Because it was not treated right away it split even farther down his paw and it became very infected. We have now had to make 2 other vet visits to clear the infection and get the stitches placed. We will have to go back at least 2 more times since the cut became so severe to ensure it is healing correctly.
This situation could have been much easier and a lot less money if it would have been noticed the FIRST time we took him into the vet. Absolutely unacceptable. My pup was hurting for days and he could have been helped and healing after just one. Will never come here again.

The employees are incompetent, rude and ridiculously demeaning. If the staff treats people so poorly imagine how they will treat your pet. Dr. Huston was the only redeeming factor and now that she isn't there I would literally go to any other vet besides Alta Veterinary Hospital. Just read the reviews. You have a better chance of having a terrible experience than leaving satisfied.

By far this was the worst vet I have ever gone to in my entire life. I had two different experiences at this clinic, the first vet, Mr. Sonky was very professional. All you expect when you go to the vet is someone who likes animals. Unfortunately, the second visit was just terrible. Trust me, if you see that Jiri Hejda is doing the shift, not worth the hassle.
He was very rude, unprofessional (in terms of treating both the animal and the client), not a single explanation about the rehabilitation. I'm very sorry to leave this negative feedback for the others professionals there.

Three veterinarians later my cat is doing better. On my 1st visit I found out that Alta Veterinary Hospital doesn't have a doctor on staff. All the different doctors were relief doctors. The first doctor was complexly honest is saying he had no idea what was going on with my cat's ear. I came back the next day for a 'second opinion', which they did comp.
This doctor figured it out in under 5 minutes. Third visit, 8 minutes late and no one at the counter. While waiting I petted the cat on the counter who was snuggled in a bed. I let it smell my hand then petted and scratched it's neck for about 10 seconds before it bit me and drew blood. Later the tech was concerned and gave me alcohol and and a band aid.
The tech said the cat 'Katniss' bit someone yesterday. The doctor didn't care (he doesn't work there) the lady at the counter seemed slightly concerned. I told them both the cat should be put in the back, not on the counter where she bites people. We'll see. That's if I ever go back. My cat is better but it's not to much to ask to make 1 diagnosis visit and not get bit by the clinics cat.

I made an appointment for my dog several days in advance an explained the entire situation. My dog had a large abscess, believed to be caused by a tooth root abscess. He had been on antibiotics for several weeks. He had the tooth extracted at another veterinary clinic but the abscess did not resolve. The clinic where he had his dental work done said if the abscess did not resolve I should take him to a full service clinic.
Thus my appointment at Alta Veterinary. However, when I arrived the vet told me they did not have the time to do the surgery it would require and the technician stated they did not have the correct type of X-ray machine for dental. I explained that I was frustrated by this because I had explained the entire situation when I made the appointment. Why would they make an appointment if they could not help my dog and then charge me almost $50.00 to tell me they couldn't do anything. Then, to add insult to injury they referred me to Blue Pearl Emergency Veterinary because the vet believed my dog should be seen right away, who charge one reviewer $300.00 to tell him they didn't do dental and did not have the correct type of X-ray.

I am so happy to have been recommended Alta View Veterinary Clinic by a dear friend! I was in panic when my 4 year old Mr. Milo cat was not doing well and realized he needed urgent Veterinary care! Dr. Howard & his entire staff are Angels! I have learned so much about food choices and preventative care to help my little dude not ever get this sick again.
Thank goodness his diagnosis is not severe but he definitely needs to be monitored. He is not obstructed due to his UTI and is now on Science Diet and antibiotics to help him feel better. I am so happy to have found this Veterinary hospital and it will now be home to Milo for his future care and needs. Thank you Dr. Howard and Staff!

We saw Dr. Houston and Leslie (who I'm assuming was the vet tech). Both ladies were very pleasant and informative! I felt they both had our cats best interest and health in mind. I would go back. The office staff less impressive. Our appt was at 4:30 we got called back at almost 5:00. The gal behind the desk Kelly moves at the speed of molasses.
No rush. When I was paying my bill she literally stood in front of me for 5 mins twirling her sweatshirt string. I had to ask her twice if she was waiting on something- annoying- reason for 4 star not 5 star. Good Dr. poor front office help

I've previously taken my Great Dane to a different vet, who I liked just fine, but they were about twenty minutes away, and Alta Vet is truly a mile from my house, if that. My pup has had a little rash that she scratched so much it turned into a sore, and I finally decided it was time to get it checked out. They were able to see her for a same day appointment as a "new patient, " and I was impressed given this certainly was not an emergency.
When the nurse/vet tech came to get us I guess they'd written the name wrong for our pup, and she was calling something totally different. When the error was figured out she had an attitude with the girl at the front desk, which is rude regardless, but also super awkward when you have people sitting in the waiting room watching the entire interaction.
Besides that the employees were nice, and I really liked our vet, Dr. Huston. She was patient and gentle with my crazy anxious pup. We didn't feel like she was in a rush, and she offered a couple options for treatment, which were totally reasonable. I felt like we were all on the same page, and not like she was suggesting superfluous testing or medications.
The office is quite small. It looked like they had just two exam rooms, and then a small surgery area off to the side. They sell Science Diet food (imo do some research regarding your pet's food as Science Diet is kind of the worst), along with toys and a few accessories for both dogs and cats. I really appreciated that their scale was not one that your pet has to step up on - it was level with the floor, which made weighing my pup about ten times easier (she really hates everything at the vet, including the scale, classic girl).
The office visit was about $50, with medications it came to a little under $100. I think this is pretty average for any vet visit. There is a coupon for $20.00 off your first appointment on their website. We will most likely continue returning here.

This is the worst vet I have ever been to. Made an apt here because I have a poor old dog that has bad hips and needs some pain meds. Make the apt for a Saturday cuz we don't work on that day. Well the 100 yr old vet they have working on Saturday doesn't do prescriptions. Still have to pay for everything. They said just swing in any time and have some blood draw done then they will get her some meds.
So I take half a day off work for blood draw. But now they want me to pay for everything all over again. I only changed vets because I had got dog insurance and my old vet didn't take it. Alta vet said they would take it. No no no they gave me 20$ off. This place is a JOKE

Night and day service from another place we took our sick little pooch to. They are warm, friendly, helpful, and the dr. took her time with us discussing options for treatment. This was immediately following my nightmarish experience at another facility right up the road who were prepared to charge me nearly $700 just for preliminary tests! After deciding on a treatment plan, the dr proceeded as agreed.
Today our sweet 3lb toy poodle is almost 100% back to his happy little self. I HIGHLY recommend their service. Don't expect it to be as lush and fancy schmancy as other places. It's clean and organized. The bigger difference is with the people. You can count on excellent service and very reasonable prices.

We love this place. We have 6 dogs, most of which are seniors or have special needs, so we go there often and they know us well. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and Dr. Huston is amazing. I've seen a lot of vets and I know that she truly cares about the animals. I also don't feel like they ever try to up sell us a bunch of services we don't need. I'm so happy that we finally found the veterinarian we will stick with permanently.

RUDE vets. We brought our dog in with some concerns with his eye. He had scratched it a month ago, and we had taken him to another vet that had prescribed him some medicine that had helped a lot, but it still looked a little funny. The vet came into the room, ignored us to talk to another employee present, and then just started talking to us without any sort of introduction.
We tried to tell her what had already been done, which she ignored. She wanted to do all of the tests again, followed by a possible visit to a specialty doctor and then surgery. Our dog is old. He probably only has two years left if we're lucky. We don't have $1500 to spend, and we don't want to put him through a lot of pain, for something that is not life threatening.
We asked her what other options we might have, and what would happen if he didn't have all of these tests and operations. Not only did she refuse to answer, she turned around and walked out of the room. Completely unprofessional. We took our dog home. We will be consulting someone who is willing to communicate professionally, and we will not be returning here again. UPDATE: We took our dog to another vet this morning.
She looked at his eye, listened to what had been done, and told us that it was healing nicely. She said he doesn't even need more medicine. So glad that we consulted someone else instead of putting our dog through unnecessary pain and wasting a ton of money!
