I was raised on a small farm in North Alabama which provided me the opportunity to care for a variety of animals. My father was a WWII veteran who instilled in me a tremendous amount of pride, honor, and sense of duty to my Country. Therefore, I eagerly joined the US Army Veterinary Corps while in school.
At Plateau Animal Hospital we firmly believe in preventative care for your pet. This includes annual wellness visits, dental care, proper life stage nutrition and vaccinations. We perform all routine surgeries for your pet and offer a wide range of non-routine surgeries when needed. We also offer cyrosurgery and electrosurgery for small mass removals.
At Plateau Animal Hospital we believe in preventative care for your pet. This includes annual wellness visits, dental care, proper life stage nutrition, and vaccinations. Rabies vaccine is recommended at 3 months of age or older and should be followed with a booster in 1 year then re-vaccinated every 3 yrs to maintain rabies titers.
Most dogs and cats eventually need a professional dental cleaning using an ultrasonic scaler such as your dentist might use. We also hand scale the teeth under the gum line where tartar often accumulates, then polish the teeth to reduce the recurrence of tartar buildup. We also perform dental extractions when necessary.

the frontline staff are phenomenal and have always been kind and friendly. I have been a consistent (with sick pets), loyal and referring customer for several years. now one emergency visit leading to undiscussed fees, led to a talk with the main vet/owner and she has no regard for loyal customers, would rather lose a loyal long standing customer with numerous pets than work with disputed $85 charges (which had never been discussed for the visit, were tacked onto the bill) on a $700+ bill. again.. this is one case after spending hundreds of dollars throughout the year by putting down other pets, meds and vet visits etc. dont get me wrong, they're great to your pet(s), but heaven forbid you have a dispute over a charge... "don't I deserve to be paid for the work I did" is what she said.. only if your customer knows the work you are doing; no one just gives you credit card and says have fun charge whatever you want when taking my pet behind closed doors. granted, she was very professional during the discussion, but a blatant disregard or any care about retaining a customer over $85... thats sad and a terrrible business strategy.
dr. Mac and front staff have been excellent! no negative review or comments about them!

Boarded my dog with them for 10 days. Am so impressed with Madi and her staff in the kennel section. It was like my dog and l were never apart. Truly a home away from home. Would highly recommend them for your veterinary and boarding needs. Simply stated -- a great facility with the best pet care possible.

My family & I had taken our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Queen, here for 10+ years. A couple months ago when we showed up because we wanted them to check out & remove a tumor, they turned us away because they said it had been too long, we were considered new customers, & they were no longer taking new customers. Ended up taking Queen to a more reliable & professional vet in Crossville. Turns out, my sweet little fur baby had breast cancer & it could've been prevented had this vet that we had went to for over 10 years educated us on getting Queen spade for her health & not only so she wouldn't have babies, which we were never informed!
It would've been nice if they had educated us & let us know considering they had taken care of her for so long before turning us away! She unfortunately passed away due to cancer September 4th. Just really disgusted that the vet that saw her in her final months told us that this vet we went to prior, should've known to inform us that spaying is health related and not just to prevent babies. Which would've increased her chances to not get mammary cancer by 85-90%.

THANK YOU to everyone at PAH for treating our Maximus with so much love. The entire staff and Doctors are amazing and very special people. The moment you walk through the doors everyone greets you with smiling faces and happy personalities. One of the lovely items placed at the front desk is a candle. If the candle is lite, it's a reminder that a guest is saying goodbye to their fur baby and to please be respectful and quite. Very touching. We are grateful to be part of this very wonderful Fur Family. The Curran's

Everyone from the front desk to the assistants to the vets are great people who put the animals first. My dog is not a people person, but he always loved seeing the staff. Because of their perception I believe they either saved my dog's life or, at minimum, saved him from getting much sicker than he was when they found an abscess that I had not yet seen. Everyone was efficient. The vets were always ready to answer any questions and explain exactly what was happening. I will miss them now that I've moved out of state.

I love this veterinarian clinic! Dr. Lisa and her staff have been exceptional in caring for my dog and cat. They truly care about your pet and go above and beyond when providing all variety of service. I'm most impressed by the care they've been providing for my dog. She recently got really sick late on a weekend so we had to call the emergency line.
They weren't the least apprehensive about coming into the clinic at around 10pm to check her out. They ran all the necessary tests and determined she had pancreatitis. They kept her there in the clinic for a few days and were great about providing us updates and a plan for keeping our dog healthy in the future. I'm so happy that we found an excellent clinic that cares about the animals they treat.

Dr. Lisa and staff are the most caring, compassionate people that I know. I am so glad that we have our babies in their care. Even when you have to say goodbye to one of your beloved babies, they try and make that time as easy as possible. Thank you for all you do. I look forward to many more years of tail wagging experiences with Weston and Maggie Mae. They love you also!

They’re compassionate l, professional, and care for your fur baby as if their own. They have a grooming staff that is by far on of the best in town and no waiting lists! It’s actually a genius idea to have an on-site groomer. They have a hands-on job and may notice something that could otherwise go unknown and can show the vet so you’re informed and aware. We’ve had the unfortunate loss of fur family and they handle these situations with grace and respect. Top-notch, dedicated, friendly, and most importantly animal-loving. Thanks PAH, for providing the best care for our fur family members!
