Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic is a dual veterinary clinic specializing in both equine and small animal medicine and surgery. We are located about 2 miles from downtown Monmouth, a small rural town in central Maine. The clinic was named by Dr. Buggia for Annabessacook Lake, one of the largest of the Winthrop Lakes Region of central Maine. For those theater buffs out there, Monmouth is home to The Theater At Monmouth, housed in historic Cumston Hall, which produces multiple professional Shakespearean and locally-written stage plays every summer.

All staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. From techs that remember you even after a year, front desk staff that quickly addressed my panic and calmly got me help, and of course taking such great care of my pup. I can never say enough about how great Dr Perkins is. She is calming, reassuring, confident, so helpful, and most importantly incredibly knowledgeable.
I am so thankful for the care that my pup recieved during both visits on today and for many many many other times too! I also highly recommend to anyone that is in need of a vet! And they are SO AFFORDABLE.

Just an overall great experience considering the circumstances, our dog did have minor complications from getting neutered, excess swelling and bruising; but they got us right back in and help reassure us that our dog would be fine, uncomfortable maybe for awhile but still fine. Then they even went a step further and helped us with antibiotics and a few other things to help our boy start his healing journey. Just wanted to make sure they got the recognition they deserve and let people know this vet is great imo and I really hope they take Zeus in as a full time patient

Best place to go to when your animal needs a checkup, surgery, getting them fixed, etc. They are very polite and listen. You can tell the people that work there, love their jobs and have a heart for any of the animals that come in. This is the only vet i will ever go to. If I could give 10 stars I would

We used the equine services when my horse had a large impaction in 2019. The veterinarians, staff and overall team were untouchable! I was very comfortable and confident with the wonderful and loving care my horse received. They were always there to answer questions and concerns after surgery and beyond. I'm thankful to this incredible team for helping my 23 y.o. horse be able to live a happy life. Thanks!

I've been here now with 2 of my 8 cats they're amazing. they really listen.to you and your pet.they're gentle and kind with the animals. it's absolutely incredible how they work with big and small animals. and they deserve accolades for all their hard work Below Chasen went in with weight loss and loss of color which indicates a possible absorption issue. turns out he has diabetes. he's doing much better now and the color has come back in his face Fradie hid too long after the 4th and held his bladder.ended up with a UTI they gave him extra care that they didn't have to give and he's doing much better as well even getting braver and coming out to play. he's on special diet and going smoothly To everyone at Anabasacook Thank you!

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing these people are at this Clinic. I came in there this morning with my tiny puppy all the worry in the world, and they bent every Rule and did everything in their power to make sure that he was okay and treated properly. Everyone that works there are quite literally the best people on this Earth.

My horse had 19 quills in his face at 5:30 at night. I called my vet only to find out they weren’t doing large animals anymore, and told me to call ABC. Dr. Z was here in an hour and a half, asked all the right questions, was very kind, and even had me laughing about our “emotional support goat”. I can’t say enough good things, and will be using them in the future! Thank you Dr. Z for saving the day!

ABC has always been a great veterinary clinic, with awesome, and educated people. But yesterday they went above and beyond. We brought our dog in for complications in her pregnancy. This caused high emotions for me her family member/owner. Everything was explained in detail, and all questions answered in a kind and proffesional manner. They were also very sensitive and kind with my girl. It is also wonderful that they care for both small and large animal. Kudos to everyone at ABC you guys are awesome and work together like family

The staff was very friendly and that is the only good thing I have to say about Dr. Fay and staff. They were an hour and a half late, and didn't bother giving us a phone call to let us know. The quote they quoted for castration ended up being an extra $75 for things we were not made aware would be extra. We were told it was routine, so there should have been no extra charges.
They charged for sedative, internal antibiotics and saline solution. They said it was routine. I guess saline solution and sedatives are not included in castration. I called several times, so they are refunding a whole $30. Dr. Fay was very rude and the phone would not listen to what I had to say and said, "should I eat this amount myself"!?
You didn't tell us your "routine" operation was going to have all these extra charges, so my answer was "yes". My advice to all of you is to go with a vet who gives you a correct quote and sticks to the price.

My first experience to the clinic for large animals was yesterday, though it ended sadly for us... I wanted to say thank you to Dr. Z for her quick actions, experience, and judgment. Everyone was very caring helpful and welcoming. A special thank you to the Dr. Who made a house call for Waylon today on a sick day for herself, you told me your name however with everything going I don’t remember.
Thank you! Thank you everyone. Both my goats didn’t make it through,my heart is heavy today. You both made it a little easier for me. I would recommend you to anyone I know. There’s a good chance you’ll see me again soon. I’m missing them little buggers!!

I'm rather new to this clinic. I was welcomed when I wanted a second opinion for a black spot on my Yorkie's tail. The other vet I saw previously to Dr. Perkins of Annabessacook Vet Clinic, thought we should cut off the tail and send out for histology. This was going to cost upwards of $1,000 which I just didn't have. Dr. Perkins did a very complete exam of the area and decided it was an allergy to fleas, and the black spot actually fell off during the exam.
Other factors led her to believe this result as well. I didn't need to put my Yorkie through surgery and the cost of the exam was well worth the 2nd opinion! Now I'm taking both of my Yorkie's to Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic!

They always treated us and our family pets with respect and professionalism. The love they show for our family members cannot be bought., We had to have our beloved Taja-Marie put to sleep after 17 years. We will always miss her and alwase be grateful the way Dr. Karen and the staff at Annabessacook handled it. Thank for all you do and the loving way you do it.

My wife and I have been very pleased with Annabessacook Vet Clinic, they are professional, friendly, reasonably priced and show empathy beyond we could ever expect. They are the only vet in the area that is able to spay female mini pigs, or corrective trimming of hooves. This is the only place we will bring our animals in the future. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for our mini pigs and dogs. If you have any questions feel free to comment or send me a private message.
