Absolutely love Dr. Hansen! My family has been seeing her for all vet care before her time at Radford. Super nice staff and very caring. Though vet care is expensive, they never run tests or do things that aren't necessary or that you can't afford. Currently, we rescued a puppy and are on their puppy plan. Great option to save money and be able to pay monthly! Update: Puppy plan continues to be great.
My sweet girl is scheduled for a spay and has been well taken care of. My daughter's pup has had to go a few extra visits because of belly issues and such. You don't pay extra unless tests need to be ran. I love the front desk staff! Christopher is fantastic!

We took our aging cat, Nora to be seen. She was in poor health and the prognosis wasn't good. In order to keep her from suffering, we had her put to sleep. The following week, we received an extremely nice card from the Radford Animal Hospital. I felt this was an above and beyond example of caring. Yesterday, we received yet another card from the Radford Animal Hospital.
This card was to let us know that a donation was given to the Arbor Day Foundation in our cat's name. My wife and I were very touched by this gesture. It's just one more example of what a kind, considerate and caring place this is. Thank you very much.

I had recently moved to the area and needed a new vet, and Dr. Claffey was highly recommended to me. I am very picky about who handles my babies, so I always do a ton of research on the vets beforehand. I brought my dog to get a nail trim, vaccines, and get a general feel of the place. Firstly, being able to text the receptionist/front desk is a godsend.
They were so friendly and knowledgeable, even in just writing. I was able to get an appointment very quickly, and had the option to fill out paperwork beforehand, again a huge plus for busy folks. Dr. Claffey performed an excellent and very thorough exam of my dog, trimmed his nails, and gave him his shots. He made sure to explain all the details of the checkup, and pointed me in the right direction for a couple small issues.
I was very pleased. So much so that I immediately texted to get an appointment for the same dog when he became ill a week later. Not to mention that the Dr. took the time to call me personally to see how my little guy was doing. The office is very clean and inviting. You don't feel below, or less-than anyone; it's a very comfortable atmosphere. I have 3 other animals, and they will all be visiting Dr. Claffey and his amazing team!

I have had my cat at another vet 6 times for the same issue. I finally decided to take her to Radford Animal Hospital and they immediately realized there was something else going on. They are such an awesome group of people and always take the time to answer my questions and give me advise. Christopher has helped me so much from advising me about care credit to help with the cost of the tests she needed, all the way down to how to get her to eat better.
I am so glad I found them! I will be switching me other cat to their services as well. They are very caring people and really make you feel heard. I would recommend anyone to them!

I recently had the pleasure of taking my new puppy to Radford Animal Hospital for her first check up. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I had made a good decision bringing her here. Everyone is so friendly and genuine. Dr. Newman spent a great deal of time going over all the important things a new puppy parent should know. He was so easy to talk to and everyone is so good with the animals.
They gave my puppy treats and lots of hugs and kisses to make her first visit a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Radford Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great vet.

We've taken our almost 12 and 14 year old dogs here since they were pups and they really seem to love them like their own pets. The technicians and doctors all want what is best for our dogs and go out of their way to provide the best care, including late night and after hours calls to specialize their care now that they are getting on in years. Even though we don't live close by, We use them for boarding as well and we never hesitate to leave them in their kind and capable hands...shout out to Miss Karen!!
January 2017 update: After going through a health crisis, emergency surgery, complications, aftercare and eventually the death of one of our dogs, I still stand 100% by the vets, technicians, reception and everyone at Radford Animal and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you all for your compassion during a very difficult time for us; feeling your support and kindness made everything just a bit easier.

This practice is filled with loving people who understand that your pets are your family. Between my 3 dogs I'm here a lot and staff are always friendly and helpful. Dr. Newman and Dr. Hansen are the best! Dr. Newman has performed multiple surgeries on my pugs and his work and follow up care is always excellent. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.
