The clinic's staff is helpful and communicative, but the vet I've been seeing, Dr. Lowenthal, barely listens to a word I say when I try to explain what's happening with my dog, is constantly trying to up sell diagnostics that have nothing to do with the issues I'm bringing. I brought my dog in for a very minor ear infection and some antibiotics for a chronic condition he's been treated for before and was given a $1500 estimate including a full blood panel, urine culture, ultrasound and an allergy shot for "itchiness" (despite me trying to explain more than once that my dog was not having any itching).

I also got a whole rundown of all the possible diseases that could be causing these problems -- which is fair, I realize that it is partially the responsibility of any doctor to go over all possibilities, that's fine -- but given absolutely no context, symptoms, possible prognoses, or even potential treatment plans beyond a list of scary sounding names and a battery of tests that would need to be done.

Could the chronic rash my dog gets be canine cushing's disease? I guess, sure, anything is possible, but is my dog presenting a single one of these symptoms beyond just having a rash? Absolutely not. Fortunately, like I said, this is a chronic issue my dog has dealt with before--and was actually treated for at this very clinic--so I was able to recognize the script the moment it began and prevent myself from getting whipped up into an anxious frenzy, ready to go into debt for tests that will ultimately amount to nothing.

The doctor also doesn't seem to read any of the notes taken by the assistants, all of whom listen intently and speak with you about the issues your dog is presenting when they pick them up. It's beyond frustrating to feel like you're talking to a brick wall who is focused completely on wringing as much money out of you as possible.

This place is still curb side assistance. Really! All other vet business aren't anymore. No need to be. Unless they plan on making you wait a extremely long time and over charge you. There's no need to keep us apart from our pets anymore. Read the room, Blue Cross Pet hops.

Honestly this clinic is EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS FOR THE WAIT IN CAR! Especially here in The Valley! It's hot! And our pets and us don't got time to wait! Especially right now Gas to expensive to just have car running with AC. I feel it's common sense if we are okay paying the bill we should be getting The GREATEST AND FAST SERVICE! Anything other then the wait in the car to process just a checking in. their find I guess, haven't been inside with my pet and the vet to seee how vet really treats my pet.

I've been coming here for my dog for three years because of their proximity to my home, but the care they provide is bad enough to force me elsewhere. They appear to be massively over-subscribed for the amount of work they put in, and I've found it almost impossible to talk to an actual vet about my dog's care. Wait times on the phone and "in person" (i.e. in their parking lot) are extreme.

And for all this, their price structures can be absurd (~$500 for routine blood work needed to renew a prescription, and a huge markup over online pharmacies when actually filling subscriptions). They've also botched the writing of prescriptions, requiring extended back-and-forths between a pharmacy and their badly understaffed clinic. It's hard to imagine that one couldn't do much better.

A waste of time. I was told to wait in the parking lot for curbside pickup and someone would contact me. I ended up waiting close to an hour before I got the attention of one of the vet techs going in and out of the parking lot. I noticed online that the close time was 2pm (it was currently 1:20pm) and I was concerned if there would be sufficient time to get my dog looked at.

The vet tech informed me closing time was only ten minutes away (1:30pm) I called the receptionist and was told that "they had tried calling me." I checked my phone and I had received no call. Worse case they outright lied about calling me, best case they called some other number. I am leaning towards the former since a) my phone history didn't record a call and b) f they were truly trying to contact me, why wouldn't they just check the parking lot?

Inefficient. Clearly trying to up-sell. Poor communication. Very disorganized. Was told to arrive early for my 2:15 appointment so I arrived at 2:05. Didn't get the paperwork to fill out until 2:35. They did not have any information we provided them before we arrived. Dog taken by tech at 2:50. Vet finally called at 4:15. He didn't have the dog's full information. Waited for another call back, which came at 4:50. Had to be put on hold because their records and mine didn't match.

And we find out there that they wouldn't do the blood work we came for. Still waiting at 5:05. Essentially they charged us $110 and made me lose 3.5 hours of my life for a rabies shot. We'll be trying a different vet after this.

Multiple calls out to Dr. Jones Eric and multiple front desk agents We've been waiting ten days to receive a call back on a very important blood test that was done on one of our pets. They have stated they have the results but for almost 2 weeks NOBODY is around to read us those results and nobody has called us back as promised. Don't waste your time or your pets at this facility

From the initial contact to picking up Gracie, my dog, the staff made sure that I was aware of all aspects of her care. I very much appreciate the way they have handled the every shifted landscape of COVID while still maintaining a high level of care. They are exceptionally busy and I was shocked to be able to know that they were taking on new clients as other vets aren't doing so.

Each person I spoke with was patient and caring and made sure that I understood the procedures, the reasoning behind them and the costs. They were efficient but I never felt brushed off as there were a lot of people waiting. I was great to be able to safely speak with Dr Lowenthal and the other staffers in the parking lot to understand the next steps as well. This is a wonderful vet in the area.

I came to blue cross on a whim. There was a scheduling error with my vet, and they were unable to see me within an appropriate amount of time, and boy am I glad that was the case! Where every other vet had 2-4 week wait times, blue cross got me in, in a couple of days. I showed up 1 hour early because I wasn't quite sure what to expect in terms of wait time.

They had a full appointment list, but we're still very kind and courteous. The staff was quick and efficient, they treated freckle with the utmost care! I would give them a very easy 10 out of 10! One of the best vet experience's I have ever had!

I took my dog in as he was having discharge on his eyes (there was no other symptoms). Since the owners are not allowed in the hospital, we have to wait in the car while they take the pet inside "examine" and then facetime the owner about the results. So dr lowenthal facetimed me asking since I brought him they're going to do some other tests to make sure my baby is healthy.

I agreed to that. dr lowenthal facetimed me in two hours, (by the way he was yawning during the entire conversation with me, which is neither professional nor ethical), he said he saw some bacteria in my baby's ears so he is gonna prescribe some meds for his ears and eyes. Oh, he also said my dog has some allergy from Blue Buffalo dog treat that i was giving my dog for his entire life. so I took the ear, eye and allergy meds and i paid $800 for that visit.

After using the ear meds for a day my dog lost his hearing. I took him back to hospital they flushed his ears and then I got a call from lowenthal saying that i should stop the ear meds, that he believes that the hearing loss is caused by the medicine he proscribed. I guess he wanted to comfort me by saying its ok the dog can live ok with only one ear!! What???? lowenthal i have a question for you: since humans can live with one kidney only, why don't you donate one of yours?

You will still be living fine. It's not only the vet/owner who are unprofessional, I have been calling that stupid hospital and asking the records for the tests they conducted. I finally received it 2 weeks later, but that is not the test results. it's just a nurse writing what that stupid lowenthal told him to. if you really care about your pet, reconsider taking him/her to that hospital

I'm so grateful to Blue Cross Pet Hospital. They saved my dog Nipseys life. He had been vomiting for two days and no longer eating. I called 12 hospitals and no one was able to fit us in. The receptionist at Blue Cross explained that they were booked for the day but she would talk to the doctor and call me back. Within 30 minutes she returned my call and told me to bring in Nipsey right away.

The doctor called to inform me that Nipsey needed emergency surgery or he wouldn't make it. He had swallowed a large piece of a tennis ball that was stuck/blocking his small intestine. THANK YOU FROM MY ENTIRE FAMILY FOR SAVING NIPSEY.

Called at 8 for an emergency appointment, they were able to get me in at 9. My poor kitty was in so much pain yelling so she needed to go in, I get so nervous because I know you can't go in with your pet during this covid time and you want to be there to comfort them , but everyone was so kind and attentive. Within about 20 mins of her going in the doctor called me to talk about her condition. Dr Lowenthal was so nice on the phone, he even made me laugh while talking about my pets name, he was so nice and reassured me he was going help get my kitty out of pain and figure out exactly what was wrong.

I could tell just from talking to him that he really cares about his patients which was so reassuring because this was our first time at this vet.. He suggested the normal procedures for an emergency , blood work, urine analysis, and xrays, and it came back that she has a torn acl. The price was amazing actually lower than I had expected! I was quite surprised have paid up into the 1400-1700 range for the similar procedures and we paid around 1000.00 He gave her some meds at the vet to help with her and sent me home with some meds for her as well.

I had to call the vet again after we were home and the girl on the phone was so nice and helpful and walked me through aftercare once more. So grateful to have found them, so grateful they were able to get me in, they did a great job and took care of my baby. Will be using them again and would definitely recommend them!!

I can't really comment on costs, as I don't track costs from vet-to-vet, so who knows? I do know that Dr. Howl took very good care of our senior cat, Spike. He feels much better now. All the techs were wonderful, too, as well as reception. All good, thanks! :

For decades I have been bringing my family members here. An ounce of prevention and regular checkups is worth a pound of cure. Very sensitive even in the most difficult of times. The staff and Drs. are great.

After searching and searching I found a veterinarian office I really like. Everyone is down to earth and polite at this office. I feel there prices are reasonable and I've only experienced excellent care for my german sheapard. I'm very pleased to be a clinic of Blue Cross pet hospital and plan on staying one for a long time.

Back in January our 13 year old husky/shepard rescue had a seizure...I thought she'd had a stroke and was ready to let her go. The vet we'd used for years isn't open Saturdays but I knew my daughter was using someone she really liked, so I called her. We were the first to be seen, Dr. Howe asked many questions about the seizure while doing a table exam on poor Ramona, who could not stand.

The initial diagnosis was probably vertigo related. We left Ray for a more thorough exam and tests (while we went for a walk), came back 90 minutes later to a walking-ish, tail-wagging animal, medications, diagnosis and acceptable bill. I was thrilled with the knowledge, care and attention my Ramona got. But it get's better. After recommended dental work, including extractions, Ramona came home in March cleaner, sleeker and less shedding than I've seen in the years since mobile groomers refused bathe her at home (big, jumpy, angry...knew how to get a muzzle off). Again, healthy mouth, gums and easy recovery from extractions at reasonable cost we understood up front. So, when I had the big family holiday dinner recently, Ramona spent the morning with Blue Cross for grooming.

While there I asked about some of the vertigo meds, which they price-matched with on-line purveyors, Julie apprised me of needed vacinations (after SHE contacted the previous vet), and my doggie was a happy, clean, cuddleable camper for the guests. I am a dedicated Blue Cross Pet Hospital fan, for all they do, who they are and the care my current and future pets get. Unfortunately, my daughter's two kitties moved to Denver!

Moose is a tiny chihuahua I rescued last week. Had many issues due to neglect & one being her teeth. Called on Monday & was lucky to have an exam & dental on the same day. Wednesday. Technician did a fabulous job! photos of before & after are remarkable. She called after to let me know how it went & how Moose was doing. Moose could do a toothpaste commercial. Gleaming white teeth!

My pets have been coming since they were a few months old. They are 10 and 9 years old now. We love the doctors and staff. I truly trust them with my doggies health needs.
