04/2022: Urgent need to help our precious girl cross over. She began having symptoms of her tumor pressing on her throat and lungs. This was the only vet that answered on a Sunday. They stayed after hours to help. These people are in the the right business. Beautiful outdoor area was made available to accommodate us. The procedure, print cards, private cremation was about $585 for a #65 pup.
About $60 above the average cost; however, the care they took with a pup they had never met and us was worth it to bring our baby peace. Highly praise this place. Sadly, even with restrictions now lifted, they continue the "covid" drop off your pet and we will call you with a report nonsense. The second they stop that, I would switch to them as my primary vet.

My dog Bud is almost 16 years old and he is suffering from all kinds of old-age related pains. Dr. Perry was wonderful. They are taking care of Bud and making him comfortable (and making me comfortable) as we go toward the end of Bud's life. It is so reassuring knowing that the staff at Rancho San Carlos will be there to help us through. I highly recommend them. I take my other dog there too, he is only 11 years old and acts like a pup. Thank you to everyone for the great care.

I have gone to this vet location for over 20 years. Under the previous ownership they always managed to fit us in for a quasi-emergency. For the third time in a year my dogs have needed something more than a wellness exam. When you have a sick dog who is lethargic and not eating or feeling well, you can't wait three weeks for an appointment. I've discussed this with them multiple times and they don't seem to be able to accommodate long-standing clients for same-day or soon appointments. Other people in my neighborhood have had the same experience. As of today I've switched my files to a veterinary clinic that can see my dogs as they need to be seen.

I recently relocated here from Florida. I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Perry and the wonderful staff at Rancho San Carlos! I took my sweet senior dog, Rylee, there this afternoon and was SO impressed with how they run the clinic; it's cleanliness, respect of Covid guidelines and compassion and professionalism of the staff. I can't find one bad thing to say. We had a wonderful experience! Thank you all!

All the positive reviews really speak for themselves. My experience with Rancho San Carlos has been nothing but positive. I took my adopted dog, Maui, here for his yearly checkup and vaccines and another time to get some stitches removed. I think the team is wonderful. Maui gets nervous in new situations with new people. He didn't want to get out of the car.
The staff was super patient. I sent him in with a muzzle for safety. When he came out he was looking happy as a clam, muzzle off, and they even told me he ate peanut butter for them! That was really great to hear they took the time and effort to make him feel more comfortable. The staff is super friendly and honest and I trust them with my dog. I just moved out of state so unfortunately I have to find a new vet. Finding a vet you can trust is stressful but give these guys the chance and they won't disappoint. Thank you to everyone here who helped my little guy feel comfortable

I absolutely love Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic. Since day 1 they have always been so great! The staff, customer service, quality, the love they have for your pet is amazing. They treat your fur baby like it's their own. I will refer everyone always to Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic and I trust them 110% with everything for my miss Layla. Dr Rodriguez is my go to.
She is outstanding at what she does! She goes the extra mile to explain everything and to put your mind at ease. I would also love to give a shout out to Sam for helping out miss Layla and explaining the medications and dosage after Layla's spay appointment. She is super knowledgeable and so appreciated :) everyone in the office that I have talked to has been such gems! It's truly the best place for your pet. Please check them out you won't be disappointed:) thank you again to everyone!

Awesome Vet clinic! Went here twice this week for two different pets and had an excellent experience; quick and on-time curbside intake, caring and professional service for the doggies, informative consult with the Vets, and quick wrap-up and reasonable pricing. The COVID protocols make for a better overall experience because there's no sitting around the waiting room with nervous pets; hoping that remains a standard for the future!

Like our last vet, which relies on years of positive reviews they didn't earn, this vet clinic is "under new ownership" as of mid-2020. These buyouts are done to leverage the existing "5-star" reputation of businesses they didn't start. They all have their shtick -- the hook they use to squeeze you for more money. Some are obsessed with dental health.
Others adopt a sales process that resembles a used car lot. Dr Fransioli had pet opinions about the dangers of grain-free pet food. (They proudly display the sponsorship deal they have with one of the big corporate brands of grain-rich frankenfood.)
They also pushed a brand new vaccine for a rare disease -- along with the latest fearmongering about 30 cases(!!!) diagnosed in the entire county (that's less than 0.01% of the county pet population).
This "disease" is comparable to the flu, but they're pushing the vax hard -- for all pets -- a major red flag given how unlikely an infection is. The risk-reward ratio does not justify this one given the uncertainties with new vaccines -- and how rare infection is. (Look up the history of the swine flu vaccine debacle. That one was approved for use _in_humans_ before they realized it was doing more harm than good.)
And then the last straw...
We went to an appointment just to renew the prescription our dog has had for years... the poor thing got double vaccinated because her last vaccination didn't make it to her records. We paid their exorbitant, marked-up price for more of our pet's incontinence meds. Then lo and behold, we found out they only renewed the prescription for a month. One effing month.
Even our "used car lot" former vet renewed the script for a year. When we went to get a refill, they requested a urine test and another $72. Our dog was in their office a month prior -- explicitly to renew her prescription -- so either the urine test is important and they skipped it, or it's not important and they're just fishing for more money. (When I didn't bite, they played it off saying they were just "making a recommendation" even though they made absolutely no mention of the urine test being optional until I balked.) The best part?
I jumped through their hoops, listened to their bs, and still they only approved the prescription for another month. One. Whole. Month. It's so incredibly frustrating that vets play these games, especially with all the closures and scheduling backups. Now we have to find another vet and make another appointment next time, just to get the meds that our dog takes at 25% the prescribed dose. (Vets just love to massively over-prescribe the meds they sell you, and won't even mention the fact that you can try a lower dose. I guess that's why they feel the need to constantly monitor for kidney and liver failure instead.)

I used to see Dr Perry at Advanced Care, and was sad when she left. 2 months ago , my gut told me to look her up and I’m so glad I did !! She’s such an amazing vet and wonderful person . Excellent diagnostician. Saw Bellie Jean today, whom she remembered well and came up with a good treatment plan for her, as she has several medical issues. Everyone I encountered was so nice and welcoming ! My Sammy going tomorrow. I feel very reassured bringing my babies here

This pet clinic is amazing, and the employees here are all so kind, caring, understanding, patient, and passionate about helping animals! My family and I especially love Dr. April Rodriguez! She made our sweet 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier's passing so peaceful, and she saved our 11 year old Sassy's life by diagnosing her with Pancreatitis, after another veterinarian at a different clinic had told us that our sweet Sassy only had allergies. Dr. April Rodriguez is truly an animal whisperer because our little Sassy, who suffers from anxiety, always melts into Dr. Rodriguez's arms whenever we take Sassy to see her! I just can't say enough about this awesome animal clinic and about what a blessing Dr. Rodriguez is!!!

Dr Halsey and her staff are great. Our dog recently had a problem with her eye and Dr Halsey was able to make time for us last minute in the midst of this covid-19 pandemic. Her time and care truly made the situation less stressful in an already super uncertain and hectic time. Thank you so much! Definitely check out Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic as they’ll take care of you and your fur child.

If you're looking for compassionate care provided by a truly dedicated veterinary team, you won't find better than Rancho San Carlos. We have been clients of Dr. Halsey, the new practice owner, for many years, and despite a 40 minute drive to her new clinic, we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. She is constantly making improvements (from cutting-edge equipment to expanding clinic hours) that enable her to provide the best possible care, and her entire team is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely devoted to your pet.

Dr. Halsey has been our vet since 2010. She has always taken great care of our fur babies. Through the last decade, she helped us through some rough times with our two dogs (allergies and epilepsy) and cat (diabetes, UTI, end of life care). She is always quick to respond when we have questions and she answers all our questions in ways we can understand.
She talks us through all of our options and writes it all down for us, along with notes on prescription bottles. This is really important to us, especially when we are distressed about the condition of one of our fur babies and we can't think straight. Thankfully, after years of poking and prodding our kids, when Dr. Halsey is over for a house visit, the dogs smother her with love. Dr. Halsey is an amazing veterinarian.

I did not know which vet to go to, but I needed to go with whoever could fit me in the soonest. Dr. Jeff is the nicest doctor! He was so good with my 20 lb orange tabby and was so gentle. He was not "rushy rushy", as I'm used to most doctors wanting to just get you in and out. I was so worried about my cat's gland issue, and I was put at ease. They even gave some pill pockets they happened to have. Very fair charges. I think I have my new vet now

I have been taking my pets here for years. I cannot say enough great things about these vets. They take their time, and tell you literally EVERY charge that they might incur before proceeding. They are honest, caring, and pleasant. The staff is also friendly as well. After a VERY expensive pet emergency visit, I wanted to bring my cat in emergently for an eval when I saw the same symptoms.
I was allowed to drop off my cat before work, got a call about what they saw and what it would cost, and no unnecessary charges. I am a nurse and the Emergency clinic did a tremendous amount of upcharging. I realize these companies are in business for money, but... In any case, I am so so happy with Dr. Jeff and Shannon Reh.

This is the first time I visit a vet since I just got a puppy and man.. these people show genuine love and care for your Dog, they even have little treat jar in the lobby for the dogs. The doctors are kind and professional. Price is reasonable. They even went the extra mile to setup a webpage access to my dogs records as well as a courtesy phonecall the next day to see how my dog is doing.
Very, very pleased, good job!

Every single time I have taken my pups here they have been treated like royalty! I love the vet he's so sweet and every single time he compliments my entire fur baby family. They truly make you feel like they are family. I especially
Love that they call the following day post appointment to check in on the babies and make sure that everything is going great.
I have a 3 lb teacup yorkie and the vet could've just given him the two shots he needed but instead he was kind enough to say "you know what he's so small I don't want his little body to be exposed to soo much, its best if you just bring him back for his next shot in a week". No other vet would take their time to do such a thing. The best part is that he didn't charge me extra
To space out the shots.
I especially love the ladies at the front desk as I called them a few times asking advice in regards to pet insurance and they were kind enough to give me their insight. I know everyone raves about banfield but I gotta say my
Loyalty will always be here because they are simply the best!

Hands down the best pet clinic I have ever taken my pets to. Dr. Jeff is always so nice and compassionate when dealing with my dogs, and he really takes his time to address any concerns or questions I may have. The receptionists are also very welcoming and helpful. It's refreshing to know my dogs are always in good hands here. I would highly recommend this pet clinic and the Rehs to anyone looking for a caring and quality experience for both you and your pets!

I've been coming here since 2000. My first cat developed diabetes later in life and Dr. Jeff was compassionate, honest, and supportive. He helped me learn how to give her shots and manage her condition. I love this office so much that my bring current cat here as well. Can't say enough about how wonderful this vet is.

My mom and I took our 11 year old Dane here, we would highly recommend this vet. The service is great, the staff is very friendly, and most importantly the vet values the needs of your pet over making money. This establishment doesn't recommend unnecessary tests/treatments or expensive medicine. Overall we're highly pleased with the service.
