Southside Animal Clinic & Pet Resort partners with you to keep your furry family happy & healthy. Our Jacksonville veterinarians have served the community since 1964. Here, we treat pets like family. We understand how important your companion is to you - because they're there for you through the thick and thin of life, with a wagging tail or a happy purr, and unconditional love. If your pal got into some mud, or just needs a freshening up for healthier, better-smelling hair and skin. This service includes an anal gland expression (for dogs), and a nail trim. Upon request, we can also use a medicated shampoo to help with seasonal allergies and itchiness. This service helps to prevent nail overgrowth, and aids in preventing scratches to both furniture and people.

Laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that can help dogs and cats with a variety of medical conditions. This therapy goes by many different names, including photobiostimulation, cold laser, low-level laser, or Class IV Laser therapy. When operated by a trained professional, yes, laser therapy is very safe, and side effects are extremely rare.

My cat was in need of care for a swollen crusty eye, and several other local clinics turned me away because they had a full schedule. Southside had a full schedule as well, but told me to come in and worked me into their schedule. Dr. Wilson was thorough and sweet to my cat, and the tech Marina was really friendly and sweet to him too. Coming back once we get our puppy!

They helped us when our own vet couldn't fit our sweet boy in for euthanasia. He was suffering and these angels helped him find peace. We will forever be grateful. If the time ever comes for us to be pet owners again, I will gladly drive the 30 min to make sure our pet gets the amazingly compassionate and loving care that our dog got there today.

My 11-year-old lab mix is a new patient to Dr. Holloway. After only two appointments with Southside Animal Clinic, we are already satisfied with our choice to switch vets. Dr. Holloway is attentive and knowledgeable. The staff is also incredibly courteous and thorough. We recently had an emergency visit which resulted in surgery. Dr. Holloway's quick decision making was vital to my pet's health and we are forever grateful. I'd recommend Southside Animal Clinic to anyone who asks.

Gail is extremely compassionate in her profession. Our poor girl Riley is battling cancer and somehow Gail knew exactly what to say. We are giving letting our girl live out her very best life. Although we do not use SAC 100% of the time (my aunt has a clinic in Tampa we go to for annuals etc.) every time we bring one of our pets in for any abnormalities they treat us like we're regulars. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area.

My girlfriend and I took our two chihuahuas in yesterday. We recently moved here from Idaho, and needed a new vet. This animal clinic is the best animal clinic I have ever been to. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating, and treat your pets like their own. My chihuahuas are rescues and scared of everything, but they were comforted and treated so well!
I am extremely happy I chose this veterinary office for my pets, I will definitely continue to use this office for as long as I am living in Jacksonville. The prices are average as far as animal care comes, I honestly would have paid more as they clipped my dogs nails for free. Thanks again!

I usually don’t comment but I had to for the southside animal clinic! I called Monday evening because my cat was not acting like herself and was not eating. They got her in first thing in the morning on Tuesday, quickly ran blood work, and came up with a game plan to get her better. I was worried when they suggested that we admit her but Shannon, sherie, Dr. Holloway and all the people were so comforting and supportive.
I can call and check on her anytime and come see her when they are open. Our kitty is even making a turnaround as we speak and I know it’s because she realizes they love her almost as much as we do! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Dr Holloway and his team are top notch, and took such amazing care of our very feisty and stubborn German Shepherd. She had to have an emergency splenectomy two weeks ago, and after scheduling a same day visit, he got her in the same exact day for her life-saving surgery. We couldn't be happier with the service, care, and expertise provided by Southside Animal Clinic.
I would recommend them to anybody who asked, even if it meant they had to drive across town. Once you find a good vet, hang on to them! After our experience with Dr Holloway, we will now be lifelong clients. Thank you so much for everything!

Maggie Mae (our furbaby) ruptured her CCL an hour before the moving truck arrived to bring our household belongings to our new home in Jacksonville. We were in an unfamiliar place with an injured pet. The staff (Jenny & Shannon) were kind, reassuring and quickly made the arrangements for us to get in to see the doctor. Dr Holloway treated us and Maggie like family.
He got down on the floor with her to establish the critical bond of trust and then examined her. He provided us with a thorough and understandable explanation of the problem and possible solutions. Maggie Mae's surgery was uncomplicated and she's recovering well. Dr Holloway's compassion and competence are top notch.

They have taken such fantastic care of my German Shepherd, Kharma! He spends plenty of time with his patients answering and explaining any questions or problems. Great staff and my babies don’t mind at all coming to see them. Went out of town for 4 days and left my kitty Frito with the play and stay resort and everyone was just wonderful even sent me pictures of him so I would know how he was doing. Will definitely take him

Love the staff and Dr. Holloway. More importantly, Kalani loves them! She is the only dog I’ve ever had that actually enjoys going to the vet. That is a direct reflection on the entire staff! We hate that we are moving to the other side of the state. It’s so hard to find a staff that actually cares about the animals over the almighty dollar as much as they do. We are truly going to miss them. ❤️

Southside staff amazing !!!!They helped with boarding my Ernie (Burns) last minute .Thanks to Hurricane Mathew and my vacation falling on same weekend turned stressful but, Dr. T saved the day!!!! I can't say enough great things about Dr. Holloway & his staff!! Besides from being a great Vet, he is kind, compassionate, very personable and he always takes his time, making sure all your questions are answered. My dogs love him!! He even sits down on the floor w/them. His staff is always friendly & courteous. The office is clean & does not smell like a Vet's office. I was visiting in Jacksonville fl when my 14 year old Pom would not quite coughing ( Tricia collapse).my sister Pauline lives there and had a vet Dr Hollaway. We took precious (Pom) to see the vet got her started on medication. She had improved but had bad days and nights. The staff was wonderful So was Dr Hollaway. After 3 months of being there in Jacksoonville My husband and I decided to put my girl down didn't want her to suffer anymore. Dr Hollaway and Staff were very caring, I want to say thank you guys. I got her Ashes Monday her urn , and paw print and poems were beautiful. If anyone out there need a veterinarian I recommend Dr Hollaway and staff
