Wellness Exams
Report
The foundation of our veterinary practice begins with routine wellness exams for your family pets. With regular wellness exams, we are better able to ensure that your cat or dog is growing properly, catch early signs of illness or disease and provide at-home care steps to help keep them happy and healthy. We believe that it is always much easier to prevent a serious health condition that to treat one. With preventative care, we can inspect your pets inside and out in a comfortable and welcoming setting.

During your pet’s routine wellness exam, our doctors will thoroughly examine their skin and coat, teeth and gums, paws and nails, eyes and ears and their internal organs as well. We may also request a fecal sample and blood samples to complete additional testing. If you have any concerns for their health or behavioral issues, we will discuss these at this time.
Vaccinations
Report
Your family pets need their core vaccinations to protect against deadly diseases and common viruses. In most cases, we recommend that your dogs and cats begin to receive their vaccinations when they are several weeks old and continue on a vaccination schedule with periodic booster shots as they grow older. Because we understand that each pet is unique, we are happy to tailor their vaccination schedule to fit their specific health and lifestyle needs.
Surgery
Report
As your full-service veterinarian in Durham and Chapel Hill, we are proud to offer a wide range of surgical options to help keep your pet healthy throughout their lifetime. Some of the surgical treatment options we offer include:

• Spay and Neuter Services – Depending on your pet’s specific needs, we can provide spay or neuter services as early as 8 to 9 weeks for cats and dogs. Spaying and neutering your pets is the most effective way to prevent unwanted litters, reduce the unwanted pet population and protect your pets against certain diseases and behavioral issues.
• Dental Surgeries – Diseased, broken or chipped teeth can lead to more serious health issues if left alone. With routine dental surgery, we can easily extract unhealthy teeth and help your pet enjoy a better quality of life.
• Mass Removal & Foreign Body Removal – Whether your pet has a benign mass or they’ve ingested something they shouldn’t have, our skilled surgical team will make them comfortable and safely get them back to normal in no time.
Dog & Cat Boarding
Report
We are happy to offer boarding services for your family pets whenever you’re away. With access to daily exercise, vet care and comfortable accommodations —our boarding services are a great choice for your pet when you’re away from home.

They were very kind and gentle with my teen who lost her Bun she's had for six years. They gave her encouraging words and talked to her about the process.

Update: My dog had an appointment for allergies (licking/chewing paws, hair loss, redness), and the even though the practice was especially busy, the vet took the time to walk me through the (complex) topic of dog allergies. I did not feel rushed as I have at other local vet offices, and the office followed up with me post appointment as well. Have been REALLY happy with our past boarding experience at New Hope (alas, they no longer board!). Will update soon after pup's next appointment!

I've been bringing my animals here for over a year now and I always leave satisfied and confident in the services that they recommend and/or provide. As a former vet technician I can say this place is reasonably priced and provides excellent quality animal care. And every single person I've interacted with has been kind and personable. I've seen several vets here and have been happy with all of them. I'm grateful to have found a place when I can confidently obtain proper care for my furry family members.

My cat needed some heavy dental work, and not only did they get her feeling her best, they were very good at putting her at ease. I had to bring her for a follow-up a week later, and she meowed anxiously the whole ride there, but after the doctor had a moment with her, she felt safe again and was much calmer on the ride home.

I was disappointed bc I realized that this vet only takes appointments but the the people inside were so nice about it. They even came out and provided recommendations on where I should take my dog. They were very professional and considerate about my situation.

My wife has been bringing our dog here for most of her life. Unfortunately, this is likely the last time due to delays in notification and picking her up. She had a routine teeth cleaning and let it be said, the techs I spoke with were great and informative. The disconnect was apparently between two people not communicating and no one notified us that our dog was ready to be picked up.

Instead of getting her, bringing her home and feeding her since she hadn't eaten since the day before due to the anesthesia, she sat in there for an extra three hours. To make things worse, the entire pickup process took thirty minutes. I paid within five minutes of getting there but didn't see anyone again until they brought my dog out almost thirty minutes later.

I called after about 15 minutes of waiting and actually saw the front desk worker get up and go to the back while the phone was ringing. From what I've seen, the level of care here is some of the best, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed on this experience due to poor communication and customer service.

I have been using New Hope since I moved to Durham 8 years ago. They are pleasant and I've been able to get appointments when needed. Their prices are average.

Recently had to lay my Daisy to rest. The staff was very caring. They allowed my family to say our good byes in a private room. She is pretty large dog, I was amazed at how the tech carried her to the room in her arms wrapped in a blanket and placed her nicely on a large pillow. I also received a empathy card with her paw print in the mail a few days later. Thank you all for your service and thoughtful gestures.

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Miller and the staff at both of their clinics. They love animals and treat them very lovingly. I highly recommend them

I would recommend they hire more veterinarians as it seems so difficult to get an appointment. If you don't want to wait a week you can get "emergency" appointment and pay more, but not everyone can do that.

I absolutely love NHAH! My five year old husky has been coming here since he was about one and I can't recommend this practice enough! The staff are always amazing and patient with me. I'm pretty anxious about his health and care, and they are always so nice to me! They really treat Ghost well and I can tell that they care about his health and happiness. Dr. Bush is awesome!

They all really go above and beyond to ensure Ghost has the best care and to make me feel better about any of my concerns! NHAH has seriously been wonderful to us and I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here!

I've been bringing my dogs to New Hope for almost six years now, despite moving an hour away, because they are hands down the best Vet in the area and super worth the drive. They have been so kind and professional to me and my dogs every single time I have ever been in. The front office staff and Vet Techs answer every phone call question with so much kindness and professionalism- it always sets me at ease.

Every time we've had an emergency they've managed to squeeze us in and help us out and I just cannot overstate how wonderful they have been and how grateful I am to them for always being so great and so kind to my dogs. Also- they never overcharge or upsell, and the pricing is very reasonable, which is great. I'd recommend them to anyone.

The staff are the nicest, most patient, and most helpful people you can find. There isn't a question you can ask that they will not help you with, and I've always been treated politely and with respect. The costs are reasonable and upfront. Most importantly, my babies feel comfortable and safe in their care.

Strong responsible, ethical, community oriented pandemic protocol, practicing curbside strictly at NHAH, was superior to other veterinary hospitals I've visited or patroned in last 4 weeks. Dr. Beth, Emily, Stephanie, and stellar client service reps took care of my geriatric, painful black beauty panthress Tink with such TLC, I didn't worry at all. while separated from her, a RARE occurrence between Tink and I. Diagnostics were timely and efficient, confirming suspicion, and enabling a plan of monitoring and potential progression if does or does not improve. New Hope staff communicated often while we were curbside, phoning and emailing repeatedly. Her abdominal rads were some of the best.

I've been taking my many cats and dogs here for seven years. I've never had a bad experience. Soren was incredibly kind when I had to let my old dog go. Ann has been amazing with her support when my big cats gave needed tooth extraction for a weird genetic issue. Beth is my favorite vet to see when we bring the cats in. She's so nice and is so. great with my cats. Lucy at the front desk?

She's the best. Bring your animals here, I promise you will have a great experience and the very best care. You get a team of awesome vets who care about your animals and about you.

We've had a number of vets over the years as we've moved around. New Hope Hospital is one of a kind. If you're just going in for an exam, the staff and doctors will love your pet coming in until you leave. If your pet has a chronic condition, you're going to feel like they leave with you! The care AFTER the exam will blow you away. Expecting not to hear anything until our next follow-up, we frequently get emails and updates reassuring us and making us thinking our pup is their number one concern.

Dr. Beth is the best! My senior rescue loves her (and all the staff!) and he normally hates pretty much everyone. She has done an amazing job taking care of my dog and always answering all of my many questions!

I have been taking my pets to New Hope Animal Hospital for many years and they have been seen by several of the vets there, but our “regular” vet these days is Dr. Bush. She is a true pro, very compassionate, very smart, and loves my furry children. I especially appreciate her kindness toward me. Ann Pagnotta is also a gem, and has helped me with some difficult decisions regarding my pets in the past. I highly recommend NHAH.

We've taken our dogs to New Hope for more than 15 years. Dr. Soren and his team are the BEST! They always take time to get to listen and to explain what's going on with our pets, as well as what the treatment options are. We recommend New Hope to anyone who wants a caring vet!

They are so pleasant and helpful here! We've had great experiences here and find their prices to be very reasonable. We've taken our dog here several times now and always had a positive experience. Most recently, the front desk staff helped us set up an online prescription for food for our dog. He has a higher fiber mixture and the special formula can be hard to find and costly.

My husband called and spoke with someone who helped him right away, no hops to go through at all. It was so helpful! The building is always clean and well-maintained. Slightly small parking lot, but spaces seem to clear out regularly so we haven't had an issue. We definitely recommend taking your loved pets here!

I recently took my cat here for a wellness check and had concerns regarding his health and nutrition. Dr. Bush as well as everyone else working there I encountered were professional and thorough. She even followed up with me after his visit to make sure he was doing much better. I felt at ease throughout the entire visit as ALL of my concerns were addressed and I left feeling confident that my pet received the best care possible. I will most certainly be taking him back for future vet visits at this location.

I am so thankful for New Hope Animal Hospital. One of my dogs struggled with chronic liver disease and Dr. Soren was always caring, knowledgeable, and vigilant in caring for him. We also take our other dog here and he has always received excellent care. My husband and I are both in human medicine and Dr. Soren has always taken the time to go over specifics, including labs, medications, etc. with us in a patient and informative manner.

It is evident that he cares for his patients - beyond fulfilling his duty as a vet to simply care for the animal's physical health. All of the staff is professional and kind. They all seem to understand that caring for the pet's family is as important as taking care of the pet him/herself. We are so thankful for New Hope Animal Hospital and recommend it to anyone in the area!

If I could give more stars I would. Everyone has been wonderful with our 5 dogs and 2 cats. Our one dog Chico was diagnosed with seizures several years earlier and every vet at New Hope helped us manage his seizures. His seizures got worse with time and he suffered other health issues; however, New Hope helped us make difficult decisions every step of the way. We had to make many emergency visits and we were accommodated every time. For that I am thankful.

Great boarding facility. Many animal hospitals will take dogs out twice a day. These guys do it as often as they can - I've heard up to six sessions a day, something you would a premium for at pet spas. I like that there are vets on staff. If something goes wrong with my pup, I know he is in good hands. I boarded my special-needs Chow there (and bought his premium, anti-allergen food there) before he passed away, and it was great.

My current pup is nervous in new locations, as he was an abused, feral hunting dog before I got him. He does very well with the staff and is beginning to socialize more happily with the other dogs. I appreciate the staff's patience with my Beagle. The first time they put him outside, they had to chase him around the pen as he was so wily! Very nice, kind, animal-loving people.

I love how this place really takes care of your concerns... my dog isn't a mean dog...she is sweet but when it comes to nail trims well just not her thing... from the very first time they offered to give her something to calm her down and little things like when she had to be put to sleep they held her till I could get there so when she woke up she wasn't alone. They really have gone the extra mile for me and my fur baby nene... I just wouldn't go anywhere else!
