Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic, serving the North Portland region, is a veterinary hospital designed to meet the requirements of pet owners for all of their veterinary questions and concerns. Our veterinarians and team offer many services including everything from regular check-up visits to emergency vet care. We also provide free exams for pets local to North Portland.
Our North Portland veterinarian, Dr. Kenneth DeRemer, is a small animal vet and is well-skilled to provide experienced and extensive care for animals visiting our clinic. We also have a sister clinic, Paws and Claws Pet Medical Center situated in Troutdale, OR. Dr. DeRemer splits his time between the two clinics. Additional services we provide include vaccinations, spay and neuter services, grooming under sedation and check-ups with a focus on creating a successful wellness program for your pet. The overall purpose at our veterinary hospital is to provide a well-rounded, comfortable experience for each and every pet.

The best experience with a vet I've ever had. Dr DeRemer and the vet tech were so informative and patient with my cat. Usually my cat freaks out at the vet and they were so calming and sweet it made the appointment and experience run so much smoother. Peninsula vet and Dr DeRemer provided such thorough and helpful information regarding my cat and his asthma. I highly recommend peninsula vet and I'm so happy I made the switch over. They are amazing!

We have been with Penninsula Dog and Cat Clinic for the past 11years. They always put our pets care first. We have scotties and the are very knowledgeable about breed specific issues. They go above and beyond when working with our sick kids and do everything possible to help. However they are cognizant of the fact that not every pet owner can afford the cost of all levels of treatment and keep you apprised of cost and alternate options for lower cost treatments. To us they are the best.

This is the best, most caring pet care ever! I had my dog neutered here and also have visited for skin and digestive conditions. During each visit, every staff member and doctor takes the time to get to know my dog and recommends a course of action that is considerate of finances. So grateful for these guys!

I've been taking my cats here for seven years and I am more than confidant in this clinic. They're all nice people and truly care, and Dr. Deremer is the best -kind, gentle, patient, expertly knowledgeable. They all work extra hard to serve clients with all the current restrictions, and it doesn't lessen their quality service.

Dr DeRemer and Dr Weinstein and all the staff are professional, kind, caring and responsive, and have been through the years. Compared to VCA, it's MUCH more affordable, and the quality is better (more personalized, less invested in chic waiting room decor, etc.)(we've also tried VCA on and off - but left when Dr McCoy retired). We trust these folks with our beloved pets - 'nuff said!

I first met Dr. Ross Weinstein at Lombard Animal Hospital. My Bulldog Rome was at the end of his life, Dr. Weinstein was available on the dreaded day. His demeanor and compassion were extraordinary. It was my first time meeting him, his kindness is what I will always remember. There was a sense of dignity for the process because of his patience and efficiency.
I have had a few rescue English Bulldogs since and now have a two year old that have all been patients of this knowledgeable and professional veterinarian. I recently had an insurance issue where some claims were denied based on preexisting assumptions concerning my puppy Hieronymus. Dr. Weinstein first wrote a letter explaining his condition and the onset, when it was denied a second time, he spoke with them on my behalf.
The claim was legit and was covered but only because of his involvement. I appreciate everything about Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic, including the staff and techs. I believe they make every effort to keep costs affordable and to explain everything in detail. This is an excellent veterinary practice.

The care and compassion we have experienced with Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic is unprecedented. It is never easy to navigate a cancer diagnosis for a pet. We were blessed to have 4 more months with our girl because of the care we received here. When it was time to say goodbye we were all treated with love and respect. Can't recommend this vet clinic enough! The doctors are compassionate and thoughtful and the administrative staff are truly top-notch. They respond quickly to emails and phone calls and seem like they genuinely care about the well-being of your pet. Highly professional and well-priced, this is an excellent, neighborhood veterinary clinic and if you live in North Portland and have a pet, you should definitely bring them here.

Been taking my 2 dogs here for a few years now. They're older, so health problems pop up now and then. The vets here are extremely knowledgeable and kind. They work well with my dogs and talk through options for care. As with all vets, it can get pricey, but it's worth the top notch treatment of my pets.

Critical: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness Was great under previous ownership. Use to bring my dog and cat here. Was the only vet he got excited to go to, but now the staff look depressed and vet services have lost the "personability" that made this place once great. Hope they turn things around.

After leaving peninsula dog and cat clinic because we migrated to a closer to Metrovet, but has since become emergency services only, we found ourselves back at PPD&CC. We were thrilled to discover Dr. Weinstein is practicing there now! He's great as well as all the staff there! Pricing is normal rate and exams are thorough and it's evident over. the years that they truly care about a pets wellbeing and offer knowledgeable recommendations for care options. They are also doing very well with accommodating pet care despite the pandemic and the difficulty that comes with maintaining pet health. I recommend them!

I love, love, love this place. Everyone who works here is kind, compassionate, friendly, and smart. I've been taking my kitty here for a few years at a friend's recommendation and I'm so glad. I trust them and pricing seems fair. I was very worried about my cat last night and they didn't have any appointments today but they squeezed her in and it just means the world to me. "Fiercely loyal" is perhaps a strange way to feel about your vet, but here we are! I love you, Peninsula Dog & Cat!
