This is the second time I have taken my horses to CVMC for hospitalized treatment and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The office staff are friendly, quick and attentive. The back clinical staff are amazing! I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Souza this week (traveling Vet from Texas) who was excellent at diagnosing and treating my horse immediately from a rattlesnake bite.
She followed us over the holiday weekend, kept me up to date with progress, and allowed me to visit even though they were swamped. The entire staff is courteous, friendly and on top of the latest and greatest in medical care. I recommend them highly!

I had an emergency call this morning- Dr. Kesyer came out to stitch up my horse. We agreed she would keep in contact as I had to leave for work. She never followed up with me on what the diagnosis was with my horse. I have her on camera that she was still at my house when I checked in an hour and a half later. She continued to yell and argue that she had already left my house and wouldn't come back to change out antibiotics that my vet prefers.
I appreciate the timely response on the emergency call, but unfortunately I will not be using them again. I would rather haul an hour south to my vet next time because of his excellent customer service, professionalism and his kindness. I was not impressed with Dr. Kesyer and how she handled the situation.

The vets are fantastic, caring and have the animals best interest. They explained the condition well and were honest about my horses condition. I did not want her euthanized but they laid it out there honestly. Not easy decision and I will not be over it for along time. But considering her suffering I couldn't have that either. I've been to this vet more than once with horse illness and each time they all were absolutely the best! I recommend them 100%.

My beloved horse Romeo colicked this week suddenly and extremely. Dr. Keyser arrived in no time and made her assessment and got us into the hospital right away. Dr. Durket and the team worked quickly to triage and provided us with our options. Everyone was helpful, compassionate and worked diligently to help him. Surgery wasn’t an option for us, but they did everything else possible. While our Romeo is no longer with us, I find peace knowing he was in such amazing and capable hands to the very end. Thank you all for being amazing.

I had a goat birthing emergency a couple nights ago and the vets from Chaparral were amazing my doe is doing great and they saved the kids. Both vets were so good and worked so well with my regular vet via phone. When they told me the total cost of the visit I literally had to say WHAT? it was so reasonable and much lower than I had been quoted by other emergency vets. Dr Ennes is AMAZING as is the other vet that came out with her.

We are so beyond grateful to Dr. Keyser for staying with us through the most trying horse episode we have ever had. We had to PTS our 19.2 hand largely untrained kill-pen Belgian Draft whom we loved dearly, but who would not tolerate shots, and to whom an IV could not be administered. She was calm, patient, kind and so brave (but safety conscious) and stayed with us long after most vets would have given up. I just can't ever thank her enough. What a wonderful, kind and awesome person.

I've been fortunate to have the vets at Chaparral take care of my horses for 12-13 years (plus our cats for about 3 years). Every encounter has been professional and caring, and my 17-year-old QH with navicular who early in 2013 couldn't trot for 5 minutes 2 days in a row without being lame at the walk the third day just won 2 Training Level dressage tests up in Flagstaff and then successfully schooled cross country the next day. In fact, there were times when I thought perhaps they had done TOO good a job of making him feel better!

My Wife and I recently moved to Scottsdale from Minnesota and joining us was our beloved 14 year old Border Collie, Scout. We took Scout to see Dr. Cunningham after she began having some health issues. After several additional visits, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to our Scout this past Monday morning. The level of compassion and professionalism displayed by Dr. Cunningham along with every staff member we interacted with was unparalleled and in my opinion, cannot be topped.
I have had dogs my entire life and I have never received this level of care and satisfaction. We absolutely will be choosing Chaparral for all of our future 4 legged children and I would highly recommend them to anyone currently seeking a Veterinarian.

The docs here are excellent. There are too many good things to say about the people that work here!! I have been a client for 30 years with small animals only. My horse loving friends swear they are excellent with their animals too. Whenever I have picked up a stray, taken in an animal for rescue, or found a pet for myself, they have always been great and charged a fair price. To be honest, they have helped me save a few strays and rescues for next to nothing. Good philosophy. Great people!
