I have been working with animals my whole life. I have a real love for both animals and the outdoors. Growing up my parents were horse trainers. I worked on a ranch that had horses, hounds, pigs, goats, cattle, chickens, ducks, and a mule. As I grew older my appreciation for animals grew and I began a career in Veterinary Medicine.

Levi received excellent care @Missions. The front desk and Techs were very attentive to our needs as soon as we walked into the door and saw our dog injured. They quickly accessed him and took him to the back. They kept us informed and moved us to a room quickly. Dr N. Garcia was great and explained everything to us thoroughly. She even called us herself after he woke up from surgery. We are very grateful for the care they gave our precious baby. We highly recommend Missions!

The entire staff was wonderful. My husband and I ran in with our dog in our arms after he had multiple seizures at home. They attended to us and him so quickly and kept us updated on everything that was going on with his care. We're so thankful for them. Communication about procedures, tests and our dogs overall condition was clear and provided on a timely manner.

Our overall experience was great considering we were there for a scary situation. Our physician spoke to us with kindness and explained everything so well. She never made us feel like she was in a hurry and she answered all of our questions.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt like I needed to share my experience. A tough one, but made so much better by Mission. My dog of 16 years took a turn for the worst. We had been on the fence about the decision we knew we'd have to make, but yesterday we knew. We took our girl in and were immediately met with compassionate faces, wanting to help. Namely a tech named Gabe.

He made us feel like family. He wasn't just a tech and Mission wasn't just a facility. He treated us as if we were his own family and for that we cannot thank you enough. If he sees this, we hope he knows that his kind words have left a print on our hearts and we will cherish his kindness always. Thank you again! Our Molly girl during her better days.

We had to wait awhile for the initial "triage" that was supposed to be quick. I had to go in after 45 minutes and ask. I think they forgot about us? Once the vet tech took our dog, everything else was great. The tech was super nice and helpful and took great care of our dog while he was back there. He talked to us about our options & didn't pressure anything.

We ended up leaving because of the 4 hr wait for the vet, and mostly because our dog was doing better and could wait til the morning for his regular vet. Our vet tech gave our dog great care!

I've taken 3 of my pets here at this location and all were cared for so well. This last visit was the hardest. Our 12 year old boxer Felonie had passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes. We weren't sure what to do and I called Mission Vet and they told me to bring her in right away. They gave their condolences and took care of her at a reasonable cost. The entire staff is professional, kind and empathetic. Thank you for taking care of my fur babies.

I do not have adequate words to express how thankful we are to have the extraordinary care from the kind folks at Mission Vet Specialty + Emergency. From the front desk folks to the board-certified surgeons and everyone in between, we are thankful. Every step of the way, we have had top-notch care and outcome. We are your greatest fans.

They were wonderful when we had a big pet emergency. Every staff member was caring, kind, and knowledgeable. They made the whole process as easy and smooth as possible. Absolutely zero complaints. And given the extent of the work our dog has done, no qualms about the price of services and the extremely high quality. I am so glad their ER had room when we needed it. 100% recommend them to any pet family in need. Thank you for taking such good care of our girl.

All of the staff was extremely friendly and listened to everything I had to say. They try to get you in and out in a timely manor, as fast as they can due to it being a hospital. If it was me a human hospital it would have taken so much longer. All of the people updated me when I had asked. A lot was happening in the hospital the day I took my cat in and emergencies were coming in that were severe and so my wait was a while, but I was able to leave and come back.

They do ask that you answer your phone the first time the vet calls you because if not you will be moved to the back of the line and will have to wait until they call you back. They tell you that before you leave and they give you the phone number the vet will be calling from so you can look out for it. That way you are not taken off guard. Which I appreciated.

They took good care of my cat. I will be taking all my animals here if I have an emergency. Banfield recommended Mission Vet to me. This is why I came here and I am thankful I did. Kept me updated.

The technicians took very good care of me and my pet. They took me seriously and checked my dog immediately. Once her health was stable and they were sure she was not in danger, they presented me with my options. They never seemed rushed and were very concerned about my dog's health. It was 7pm on a Friday night when this occurred. I am so thankful that Mission Vet exists when an untimely situation happens. The staff here is wonderful and recommend anyone with an emergency event to come to this Pet ER on Hausman and 1604. Treated me and my pet respectfully and quickly

We took our Billy in on Friday afternoon, yes we did have to wait, but staff came out to check his vitals. When the time came to speak with us, Dr. Alicia made sure we had all family members present that needed to hear the diagnosis. They were very compassionate. They let us say our final goodbyes to Billy. They did not rush us. They took their time. The staff loved on Billy as well. I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the dedication you have in this field. The Estrada Family

Great besides how long of a wait there was. Check in was simple! I wish they would have communicated about how my pet was during the stay. But once he was seen by a vet it was speedy! The vet was extremely nice and listened to my concerns about how expensive things were and worked with me

Very impressed with the staff's compassion and level of care. I've taken two of my dogs here and feel they always go above and beyond to ensure their health. One of my dogs required emergency spine surgery, he's made a full recovery and better than ever. They were so patient and caring through the whole surgery, his short stay after, and all the way through post-op care. Highly recommend!

Had a terrible accident involving our family dog. Took to MissionVet at 6am Sunday morning. We were met in the parking lot by a vet tech that took our dog immediately inside. The Doctors and staff were knowledgeable, professional and caring. All procedures and charges were discussed beforehand. Telephone calls with updates often. Sadly our dog did not survive. The staff cleaned him up, put him in a burial box and made a plaster paw print free of charge. Thank you MissionVet for your professionalism during a very difficult time.

The staff has always been caring and friendly. We've never had to wait long for our appointment. The vets are very knowledgeable and explain things thoroughly. They made sure my pup had the best care possible during our appointment so we could get the answers we needed to get him feeling better. Highly recommend.

When Batman (cat) came home after being missing for 24 hours, he was dragging his back end and couldn't walk. We immediately took him to our local emergency vet but all they could do was X-ray and refer us to San Antonio. After a 2.5 hour drive, we arrived just before 8:00 am. The staff was wonderful, but yes you have to wait. The first doctor was very kind and explained things very well and transferred Batman to neurology with Dr. Cooper.

I returned home to wait because it would be 2 days before Dr. Cooper could see him, and I got status updates twice a day from the staff. Dr. Cooper felt like surgery could have a good outcome so we went for it. She and the staff were so sweet to me and Dr. Cooper's surgery on Batman appears to be a success! He can walk on his own just like before, but his run has a little wiggle, LOL! Our family is so thankful because we know just how lucky we are to get this outcome. A++ for care and knowledge!

This place is a joke. We came in with our pet who had been attacked by another dog, had multiple punctures on her neck they took our dog and we waited for 5 HOURS and were given no updates on how our dog was while other pet owners had been given multiple updates about their dogs "upset tummy". We asked if it was possible to see our dog for a sec after waiting for so long and they still did not bring our dog out. They have 0 communication skills and will over book themselves to where you will have to wait for hours. I highly recommend taking your place elsewhere.

I took my dog to Mission Vet on 10/25/2021 around 7am. I called before hand to inform them of the urgency. It still didn't matter once we got there. She was having labored breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, weight loss and loss of appetite. Her gums were pale, but they didn't consider her "urgent". Their wait time time was 4 to 5 hours. After they took her, they just placed her in a kennel.

Didn't even bother to do a quick exam in regards to her symptoms. If they would've done an exam, they would have seen the urgency. Instead she just waited alone in a kennel for over an hour. I was able to get her to another emergency vet and they took and evaluated her immediately. She was admitted and spent the night on oxygen and medication. She was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure.

Her heart and lungs were filled with excess fluid. Their lack of urgency is worrisome to say the least. I wouldn't take any of my dogs there. Mission Vet obviously do not understand the concept of an emergency, even though it's on their name. My dog is on heart medication and is back to her old self. No thanks to Mission Vet. I would rate them zero stars if I could. Take your fur babies somewhere else where they actually listen to the pet parent.

I never leave reviews, but I feel compelled to do so today. Last night my dog got bloat. (That means her stomach flipped over inside of her body.) Bloat can be fatal. I rushed my dog in, called on my way and the phone was answered very quickly. A tech met me in the parking lot and rushed my dog into the back where they immediately started prepping her for an IV catheter and surgery.

The surgeon communicated everything to me clearly, I agreed to surgery with no pressure one way or the other from the Dr. Surgery was successful, the surgeon touched base immediately following (at 1am, thank you Dr!). The post-op team was just as great, communicated well with me throughout the day and helped keep me calm throughout the recovery process.

My sweet mutt is now home and resting comfortably just in time for Thanksgiving, and my bill was not even close to outrageous considering the services rendered. Absolutely thankful for the Mission team this turkey day. From the reception team to the nurses in the back (who took the time to trim my girls nails ) to the DVM's, thank you for saving my brat.

Staff is very friendly and saw us immediately, I was also surprised about the military discount. Thank you for taking care of my boy Hachi! Listened to my concerns as a pet parent and made sure my pup was cared for; he picked up a stomach bug and wasn't eating or drinking, had lots of vomiting and was becoming lethargic. The doctor i spoke to seemed tired, but she still communicated with me as with what my options of care were and costs for each. Thank you again, he's doing lots better now

I've read the recommendations, and must say I might not have taken my dog in based on what I read, but thankfully I had not seen any reviews prior to taking my dog in. I can only recommend a place of business based on my own experience. My dog woke up with mucus in his eye, and by mid afternoon it seemed as if his eye had collapsed. This was the closest veterinary clinic on Google, so I rushed my dog over there with no appointment or call.

The staff at the front desk saw the urgency and squeezed my dog Zeus in. They charged me the standard visit fee, and yes they provided to treatment plans, but both seemed reasonable and affordable in my opinion. It's been a few days now and my dog is recovering nicely. I am so very thankful for the care received.

Daniel superb assistant technician made everything positive happen myself and Margo's dental surgery. There for me my inward panic. Any problem call before 11:00 am I am here to help. Also Daniel had me see a doctor before her surgery which helped me. Nice receptionists. Did meet dentist, but am very happy with results. Did not meet dentist. Would definitely highly recommend Mission Veterinary.

I volunteer for a dog rescue, and often times we have emergency situations -- especially on weekends or late at night -- when a dog in foster care must be seen by a vet quickly. Several times I was able to get an appointment that same day, and have the dog examined. This particular dog was scared, and the Tech and Vet took time and patience to let the dog calm, before they examined her.

It's important, as rescued dogs are often freaked out anyway with all the change going on around them. The care we've received has always been thorough and reasonable. I've never felt like they were "selling us all kinds of tests" -- the Vets got us what the dog needed to start healing, at very reasonable rates. I've recommended them to friends and other rescue colleagues.

After my dog had Orthopedic surgery with Dr. Gurmani I became I client at their Regular hospital. The hospital is busy at times. The staff is always nice and attentive. Vannessa is very sweet and helpful. The blond guy is also very nice, I don't know his name. The Dr's are not always available (probably because the hospital is busy) but they do always get back to me. They always spend the time to explain things to me and are very helpful. Pets (and I have a lot) are lucky to have them.

Love this place! My dog is never afraid to come here, the staff are friendly and kind and the prices for vaccines are the best I've found.

From the moment we stepped in the door, we were greeted in a very friendly but professional manner. The reason for our visit was annual shots for our two cats and a consultation with the doctor regarding our one overweight kitty. They addressed our every need with confidence and we have now found our "forever vet". Thank you all for the great care and professionalism you extended to our family.

My companion, Cooper 5yr old ShiPoo, got his paw caught in an escalator flying home from San Jose. Completely my fault, while on the airplane had my son look up Vets in my area. Found MVC... thank God! Open till midnight, I arrived at 10:50. They took us in immediately cared for his wound and continued his care for a month after. Cooper stayed in the hospital for 5 days, they amputated part of his paw and 3 months later Copper is doing awesome, like nothing ever happened. Their staff is amazing, compassionate and helpful. I will never take my family any where else, ever...

Danny takes such good care of my huge lovable brats. It's like they are his babies too. He makes their experience a happy one. Doc G always gives me honest treatment plans and explains things. He doesn't mind my 100 questions. It's always an easy experience and my babies feel safe at Mission. Thanks!!

I have been very satisfied with the service and attention from the vet and his friendly staff for our dog. You will too!
