Our Services We're pleased to offer the following services in our Orinda Veterinary Clinic:

Appointments
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.

Emergency & Urgent Care
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Types of Pets Seen
Because a large number of veterinarians practice at Theater View Veterinary Clinic, we can care for many types of pets: Dogs Cats Rabbits* and Pocket Pets*.

I relocated to the golden state in the Spring of 2006 and The Bay Area quickly became home. I am the proud "dad" of a flame colored Pomeranian named Peanut. He comes from a long line of show quality Poms, and seems to know it. I double as professional photographer, and have been fortunate to shoot many special events, but no matter how many I do Peanut remains one of my favorite subjects.
Puppy socialization classes are offered free of charge to Theater View Veterinary Clinic clients. This class is meant for puppies between the ages of 6-16 weeks. This is the critical time for a puppy to become socialized. Requirements for the class are that the puppies are current on their vaccines, patients of Theater View Veterinary Clinic, no vomiting or diarrhea and secluded to their house and yard. The class is meant to help puppies become well socialized and acceptable members of their pack, your family.

We have been taking our dogs here for several years and have been so happy. The staff is very kind and accommodating to our dog that is afraid of going to the vet. Our dogs have received excellent care. The vets are always willing to take plenty of time to explain the dogs' issues and all of their options. They are busy and routine visits need to be scheduled quite a bit in advance but they always make time when an urgent issue arises. We feel lucky to have our dogs in their care. We could not possibly be happier or recommend them highly enough.

Dr. Laurie is very good. She has been our vet for almost 17 years. We travel 1 1/2 hours so she can see treat our two dogs.

Very satisfied with the veterinary care here. Doctors are very knowledgeable and good communicators. Same for vet techs and office staff. Reasonable fees.

We've been dedicated clients of Dr. Laurie's for decades. What we appreciate most is her gentle and loving care of our best furry friends. Our animals serve as a crucial emotional base for our lives and we wouldn't know what to do without them. Laurie's approach is practical and ensures the finest of care within reason of what the budget can afford.

Dr Laurie Langford and Dr. Ameila Ausman are very good medically speaking. Vet Tech Mary Kay is good, and they really take good care of pets. However, the rest of the staff is disappointing and there is considerable turnover. Unfortunately this business has grown faster than they can support, and reliable help is hard to find and retain, hence the focus has changed from all about "how can we help you?" to "this is how we do things now" at their convenience.

For example, your pet is having a persistent problem that just got dramatically worse. Previously, they would make every effort to help and see your pet, but now you have to call at 8am only to see if they can give you a lottery chance of being seen that day, otherwise, it's oh, well, call back tomorrow, or you are free to go elsewhere. Been a long time customer?

Too bad because that doesn't matter to them anymore. Need a routine appointment? Better plan for it 2 months in advance. Don't like something? Have a suggestion for improvement? Don't bother telling them because they won't see it as an opportunity and besides they are too busy! The customer does NOT come first. Customer communication is poor: new policies are not published on their website nor sent by email to existing customers. If they don't like what you say or how you said it, don't be surprised if they hang up on you! Your business or support will simply not be appreciated.

Even though I live over half an hour away I will always come to this clinic for veterinary services. They were incredibly kind and considerate when my old boy cat passed in 2018 and have been amazing with my other cats. They always explain everything very clearly and answer any questions thoroughly. Highly recommend, this is the best vet I've been to!

I love this vet. I found it only because I needed to take one of my cats here for surgery. After that, I never went anywhere else. I even switch the vet office of my other cat so now they are both regulars. The staff and doctors are all wonderful and very helpful. They treat your pets with care. If they were bigger and had kennels, I would so take my cats there when I go out of town. Wonderful place!

We found Dr. Laurie when searching for someone to assess our dog's small mammary tumor. We had a previous consult with another local East Bay vet clinic whom we felt were very fear bating around my dog's condition. I'm so thankful for the recommendation to Dr. Laurie and the staff at TVVC. We ended up opting for surgery and felt deeply supported by the clinic.

The staff responded promptly to my emails, got me in the same day when I had some concerns about the dog jumping off the couch while re-cooping and agitating the stitches (she needed more sedatives :)
All this to say that our pup loves Dr. Laurie as she is kind, gentle, and knowledgeable.

Awesome vet and staff. Attentive, knowledgeable, experienced, caring, and totally reasonable. I tried a few other vets in WC and neighboring towns, but happily drive to Orinda for the care of my furry babies cuz they deserve the best.

I have been going to Dr. Laurie since she opened her practice. I have had two dogs, and every time she sees my babies... she acts like she is thrilled to see them. She also is really good about calling after hours with test results and advice so you don't worry.

I cannot sing the praises enough for Theater View! The minute you walk in, the front desk staff greets you with a smile. The wait is never long and once you're in the room, Dr. Laurie or Dr. Amelia answer any questions and offers suggestions to help any situation. Recently came in with my dog, Coco and I must admit, the service is stellar. I have referred many of my friends and colleagues to Theater View because the staff cares, they are knowledgeable, process things quickly yet accurately and they are just plain great! Hands down the best vet clinic in the East Bay! Thank you for taking such good care of your patients!

We recently brought our dog and one of our cats to see Dr. Laurie for the first time. We recently moved to the Orinda area and our cat sitter highly recommended Dr. Laurie. Dr. Laurie was very thorough and was very good with our pets. Both Teddy and Doug felt very comfortable with her. Both of them explored every inch of the examination room. Dr. Laurie is very knowledgeable and didn't seem to mind answering all of our questions.

We were finally able to get a good recommendation for tick and heart worm medications for our dog. The best part is we were able to get all of the medications from Dr. Laurie's office at a very reasonable price (they are price matched to 1-800-petmeds). The office is very clean and the front desk staff is very friendly. We will be back again with our other two cats. Dr. Laurie is definitely our go-to vet!
