At least once a year, you should take your pet in for a Wellness Evaluation and Physical Examination. This will include a full physical exam, diagnostics, wellness plan, medications and vaccines if needed. Physical Examination, from nose to tail, is much more than just a brief check-up. It is most often during these exams a veterinarian can detect early warning signs of serious health problems. Severe problems can be corrected or at least slowed in progression if detected early. Boarding

Hoffman Animal Hospital patients are invited to utilize our boarding facilities, which include full-sized dog runs, kennels, kitty condos, and connecting rooms for pets from the same household. Upon arrival, all pets are evaluated by a boarding or hospital technician for fleas and any obvious health conditions. Pets with fleas are treated with Capstar, at an additional charge to the pet owner. Obvious health problems are noted, and the attending veterinarian notified. If the veterinarian deems the health issue requires treatment, all efforts are made to contact the owner. Pets with serious, untreated illness are not admitted for boarding without authorization for treatment.
Bathing Services/ FURminator Bath

Our staff is trained to provide the deep cleaning FURminator Process which can reduce shedding up to 90%. The pet is bathed with FURminator Shampoo and Conditioner. The pet's undercoat is coaxed to begin releasing itself with heat, a high-power blow-dry and then brushing with specialized FURminator tools. Our staff has been trained in the process and specialized tools to provide the best results possible.

Unfortunately they do not care about your time -- and are extremely overpriced and disrespectful -- not a good combination. **Upon speaking to the office manager today regarding an issue with a surgery drop-off, I was advised that the doctor was aware of the issue but had such little respect for her patients that she chose not to contact me or provide a simple resolution -- this was after being made to WAIT ALMOST 2 HOURS during a recent routine vet visit.
In addition, the office manager let me know that he was taking the word of staff over my word (implying that I was lying) about having to wait out front while the staff sat and watched me. It seems this could be easily verified by checking the cameras, could it not? This is certainly not the way I would ever treat a client of mine, nor a way I would ever expect to be treated, especially after showing nothing but understanding and respect to this establishment in the recent past. There are far too many wonderful vets in the area to be treated this way. Avoid at all costs if you value your time, money, and expect to be treated respectfully!

Love Dr. Hoffman! We just moved to the area and were looking for a new primary care vet for our cats. They happened to have a same day appointment available for my kitty when he started having UTI symptoms. Hoffman was very thorough and the prices are reasonable. We were very appreciative of the 5% active duty military discount.

I have had a great experience with all the techs and doctors here. The front staff has been nice to. I think the entire hospital staff counts when making a decision about your pets care. The approach to taking time to make sure you pet is not rushed and forced to do anything is so important. Dr Wheeler is amazing, I would always recommend thus hospital. Keebler hated the vet offices but when we started going to Hoffman's this office was the only place he felt comfortable and safe. All the vets and techs got on the ground( he was a low rider dog) and showed him so much love.

Our family has been using Hoffman's for over 20 years. In the past 20 years we've had 9 dogs they have cared for and our youngest is currently 14 weeks. It started off small with just Dr. Hoffman and has grown over the years to at least 3 more Vets I know of. My Mom's fav is Dr. Hoffman (Our Bassett hound was featured on Mrs. Hoffman's wedding cake.) My personal favorite is Dr. Harkins even though each one of them is awesome!
Not only have they grown just by adding more vet's they also offer many many more services such as doggy day care, drop off appts, home visits, Acupuncture, Herbal Chinese therapy, and they do their best to work with you. The only down side is they are pretty pricey!

Several reviews here have comments about the costs charged by Hoffman Animal Hospital. These reviews are juxtaposed with other reviews praising the incredible service and humanity of Doctor Hoffman and her staff. Here is the thing, fellow Yelp-ers, you get what you pay for. This is not an average, run of the mill veterinary clinic. It is an amazing animal hospital run by a team of people who actually love animals and want to make sure humans have what they need to take good care of them.
If you bring your pets here it might cost a fair bit. but your furry friend will receive the best care. Get an estimate and ask questions. Consider pet insurance if you can or open a wee side savings account labeled "for veterinary services."

They were very nice and caring with my kitten and my dog. I think they probably provide good care, but are very overpriced. They charged me $15 for three 100 mg trazodone tablets for my anxious dog. It just left a bad taste in my mouth because trazodone is a very cheap, very old antidepressant and costs about $18 for a 30 day supply for a human WITHOUT insurance.
It made me very, very sad that they did this because I did like Dr. Greenwood a lot. I was told there was a prescribing or dispensing fee and that is why it was so expensive. I think that with everything going on in the world today I really just didn't want to have to deal with being taken advantage of on this level. It wasn't that I couldn't afford it. It was the principle and the ethics behind it.

We recently moved to the area and wanted to establish veterinary care for our three pups. I have been to numerous vets across the US and can easily say this is by far the best veterinary care my pups have ever received. Taking three dogs to the vet can often times be a hassle, but saves time to do it all at once. Even so, the staff and vet took the time and patience to allow each dog a thorough exam.
Two of my dogs are more timid and afraid but the vet wanted to take her time to allow the dogs to get comfortable and make the vet a place they wanted to be, something I've never experienced before. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

We took our two cats there for a few years. They are very healthy and never required any additional care besides keeping their shots updated. About a month and a half ago we adopted a kitten from a shelter that needed more care than anticipated due to upper respiratory infection, lack of appetite, and a few other concerns. The kitten was seen at Hoffman over three visits in about five days due to the upper respiratory infection - she had already become a frequent visitor there.
During her fourth appointment a few weeks after those first three, which was supposed to be a routine exam and vaccinations, we told them about our concerns - an itchy/flaky rash/spot on the back of her head, and ear contamination. They gave us medicine for an ear infection and noted the flaky spot behind her ear, but did not do any further testing of it - this rash ended up being a highly contagious ringworm infection that got me and seems to have infected our other two cats.
I feel that this could have been avoided to some degree if patient zero - our new kitten - had been diagnosed and treated earlier. The worst part about it is how we were trying to set up yet another appointment to have this rash fully diagnosed and there was just a series of miscommunications and lack of coordination in trying to do so. I felt like they didn't want own up to their oversight, and were trying to somehow blame me for everything when my cat had four appointments with them already and yet they did not take the time to diagnose this in the first place. I recommend taking your pets somewhere else for care.

Dr Hoffman helped me make the choice when it was time to say goodbye to my cat Niban. She treated him like her own. There is no one else I would have trusted. The fees are reasonable for a full service hospital and while there are less expensive options, I would only want to use them. Dr Hoffman suggested I sign up for Trupanian insurance from the moment we adopted our dog and it was great advice. I'd encourage everyone to do so. Thanks Dr. H!

Love Hoffman Animal Hospital! We see Dr. Hoffman normally, but the entire staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and genuinely loves our dog. I appreciate their careful and thorough approach to care and that they stay current with new trends in dog health. Our dog LOVES going to doggy daycare there also. He can hardly contain himself when we get out of the car in the morning! Knowing he's with his vet while he's at daycare, so he'll be well taken care of if anything happens, is a great relief. Best vet I've ever been to, hands down!

I have been a client at Hoffman AH for about 9 years. When I first started taking my dog, he had anxiety about riding in the car and would often get ill on even a short car ride. Shortly after becoming a patient at Hoffman AH, he would get excited to go in the car because it usually meant a visit to the vet! He has always been treated so kindly by everyone in staff through the years.
As I have added to my pack, they all love going to visit everyone at Hoffman Animal Hospital. From vet appointments to boarding - they (and I) are thrilled with all aspects of working with everyone.

I cannot say enough good things about Hoffman Animal Hospital and the staff that work there! I've been a pet owner my entire life and have never seen the same quality of care, customer service, or genuine passion from any other veterinary office that I've been to. I trust all of the advise they give me and am very pleased with all aspects of the facility (it is by far the cleanest vet office in the world).
I have been taking my older dog and my cat here for over 3 years and they both are in better health now than they were then. Recently my fiance and I adopted another dog - a rescue named Ollie. Ollie has several medical issues (understatement) but Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Davis have been so proactive in helping me to get him back to a healthy state (including physically, behaviorally, and mentally).
They show genuine concern for him and his improvement and have gone above and beyond several times (even offering to drive him home to my house after a procedure if I couldn't pick him up!) In reference to the complaint of price in one of the other reviews that I read - Hoffman Animal Hospital is not the cheapest vet around. That said, they are not unreasonable and honestly, you get what you pay for.
My pets are my family and I'd never bargain hunt for their medical care. I highly recommend this clinic to any pet-parents out there who want the best for their animals.

Dr. Hoffman has been my dog's vet for 15 years. We recently had to put her down and Dr. Hoffman came to our house because we couldn't get her to the office. Today I received a Colorado Blue Spruce sapling to plant in her memory from Hoffman Animal Hospital along with a sympathy card with condolences from everyone. Dr. Hoffman and all of her staff are the most compassionate and thoughtful veterinary staff I have ever dealt with. I'll have the pleasure of dealing with them for many more years to come, as we have two puppies in our family.

I firmly believe people show their best when things are at their worst. Our dog was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and eventually euthanized at Hoffman. As difficult as that was emotionally, I couldn't be happier with the way the entire staff handled our dog's treatment, care and eventual departure from this world. Compassionate, competent and professional. Of the three veterinary practices I used for my dog over the course of his life, Hoffman was the easily the best.

The staff is nice enough but they are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and really seem to want to suck the money out of you. For example. our adult cat developed aural hematoma out of nowhere. Indoor cat, usually has no problems. Hoffman drained the ear several times refusing to listen to me when I knew what had to be done (we experienced this in another cat and were educated on the problem) and then said the operation was going to be an excess of $500. RIDICULOUS! So we went to Bay Hills Animal Hospital in Arnold instead. MUCH better. Friendly staff that seemed to be more knowledgeable about animals than Hoffman. Operation cost? $55
