Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Routine wellness exams are a critical part of your pet's healthcare routine to maintain their wellbeing and detect any medical issues before they progress. During your pet's wellness exam, we will conduct an in-depth, nose to tail examination and advise you on all aspects of your pet's care. Just like humans, pets require regular oral care to keep them from developing dental disease.
According to the American Veterinary Dental College more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by the age of 3. Dental disease can be very uncomfortable for pets and the longer it is left untreated, the more complicated and expensive it becomes to treat. Furthermore, improper care of your pet's teeth can often be the cause of serious illness.

The vet and staff did an outstanding job in the care of my babies! They were very thoughtful and caring to my needs want and desires in the care of my babies. They listened to and answered every question I had to give and also offered advice without making me feel like I had to take the advice they are offering. They treated me and my dogs as if We were already part of the family and it was my very first visit with my dogs.
They took the time with each one and discussed each one individually as if they were their own individuality instead of their breed or insisting on what that type of dog's needs are. I love this veterinarian practice and I hope that more people find them out and take their pets to them for exceptional life long care.

We have been utilizing the services of Brookville Animal Hospital for a few years now. From final stages of our beloved pets, help in dealing with the many feral Cas that have been dropped on our property (spay/nueter and release) to our most recent addition of puppies back into the family, this place is the best! They love your animals, get you cared for promptly and alway have a great attitude!

We love this clinic! We have 3 animals who are all seen here and each is treated individually with great care as well as being appreciated for their particular personality quirks . I feel like they hear my concerns and address each one fully with my pet's well-being as their primary objective. (And my crabby chihuahua who hates everyone loves them there!)

I personally think everyone at Brookville Animal Hospital is great! From the front office team to the techs and doctors, they have all been amazing to our fur babies. Besides the great staff, I love being able to schedule appointments through the Pet Desk App and the flexibility of Saturday appointments. From our initial appointment of getting a new dog till the time that our beloved dog crossed over the rainbow bridge, their compassionate and caring team was there for our family every step of the way. I would highly recommend Brookville Animal Hospital!

The doctors are so caring and knowledgeable. I could not have gotten through my Ruby's liver cancer and treatment that Dr Peters recommended without the care and love of the vet tech staff. I was given a much longer goodbye than I imagined. My new pup Zola has already been shown love and amazing care. She was treated last week for a fungal infection and within 24 hours was back to being her nosey and rowdy self. Thank you all so much; I can't imagine any better care for my pet.

The staff here has been wonderful to my wife and me. They have always shown the utmost care with our dog. We were new to the area when we moved here. They were very helpful to update us on local laws and were able to get our dog licensed. Our dog was already older when we moved to Brookville. When she started experiencing symptoms, they were very compassionate when I came in without an appointment.
They could tell our dog was in distress. They immediately got her in and went over how they would examine her.
Unfortunately, we discovered our dog had an enlarged spleen and mass that was crowding our organs and was causing her great pain. Dr. McPherson went over our options. If we did only pain meds, her spleen would likely burst and she would bleed to death.
Because of her age, it was likely she wouldn't survive the surgery. I reluctantly decided the best option was to put her to sleep.
Dr. McPherson and Dr. McKinsey were so compassionate. They gave me the time I needed to comfort our pet, and then to mourn her loss as she went to heaven. I highly recommend the hospital. They were there for us in our time of need.

Thank you for the sympathy card for Sara jane. I held it together knowing her time had come to an end, until I received your thoughts and sorrows from the staff. The card and the letter is much appreciated. Thank you for taking such good care of Sara over the years and thanks for making her last moments filled with excitement of eating a pumpkin roll. I'm glad she is at piece now and no longer suffering.

Dr. Peters and Dr. Rumpke are both so compationate and caring. Thank you so much for the time you took to care for Abby over the years and especially these last 6 months up until last Friday when you helped us say goodbye to her. Her last moments were calm and peaceful with all 4 of us surrounding her. Thank you for giving us one last good memory of our Abby Girl.

I absolutely love Dr. Peters and the staff at Brookville Animal Hospital! I got a puppy a little over a year ago and started taking him to see Dr. Peters. Every time I have taken him in the staff is always friendly and take great care of him. My dog, Archer, LOVES to go and see Dr. Peters and her staff. We are getting a new puppy soon and will definitely be taking him there too.
