High end veterinary practice, quality work from very caring doctors. Dr. Kelsey Phillips is the best! Expect to pay more than your typical low-cost clinic, they're very comprehensive.

Good: Dr. Briam Mellus is a very dedicated, competent compassionate veterinarian. He called to update us on our pet even on his days off, followed up on tests and kept us informed. I think he is amazing. The facility is lucky to have him. Bad: Wish I could say the same for other vets in this facility. The vet who was on call said she was too busy to meet us to give an update on our pet.

That I understand I was told she would call us back later. Did not happen. I was told the vet would call every morning with updates, Did not happen, Terrible communication. Unconscionable. The estimate I was given for hospitalization was about half of what it ultimately turned out to be. I understand they cannot precisely estimate all costs.but not sure why it would be off by so much. I am not sure I would go here again. If I did, it would be only because of Dr. Brian Mellus. He is an outstanding, compassionate, and competent veterinarian.

Dr Allison and staff were amazing! They treated my Labrador Maple. I was so worried that I was going to lose her, but they took great care of her!

We got our cat from a rescue and they failed to update his name in the system leading to all sorts of confusion checking him in and out after his surgery, and getting the results of his x ray. When we called about the xrays the name issue made it appear that they had never taken any so it took more time to find out if they had actually taken any, and the results which we are still waiting on. Overall the people weren't terrible there but the experience was enough to make me never want to go back.

Dr Alex saved my cat! She was on the verge of dying soon if she didn't eat or drink. (She refused for a little over a week). No other vet took the time to figure it out, they only saw $ signs. This hospital took the time, listened to me and explained everything! Awesome bedside manner! After we got home from her visit with MSAH she started to eat and drink on her own.

She is happy and herself again, thanks to everyone at the front desk, vet techs and Dr. Alex! This is the only animal hospital I recommend! I will be going here from now on for all of her care!

The staff at MSAH are wonderful. Dr. Mary is amazing and really cares about your pet. I visited yesterday and had a great experience like always. Both Dr Mary and Ida helped during my visit yesterday, they we're both great with my cat. I always feel good about bringing her here. I definitely recommend bringing your pet here.

Dr. Himel is the best thing that can happen to your pet and you. Period. He is an amazingly good and compassionate surgeon veterinarian. I'm very happy that i found this clinic.

I had adopted a puppy from a local shelter, about 2 weeks later she got very sick she couldn't even standup on her own and would not move and her head was bobbing so bad. I knew something was wrong so I brought her here and the vet told me she was okay and to bring her home and she was in fact NOT okay. The vet says about 4 times that she most likely got into "marijuana" which it really insulted me after I told her multiple times that was not the case and there was no way possible that could be the case.

They basically told me take my dog and she'll be fine. I had to tell them I wouldn't be leaving until my dog is back to her normal self, it took me to say I wouldn't be leaving for them to FINALLY give her fluids. And guess what!? After the fluids she was back to her normal self. They are very unprofessional and I will never recommend them to anyone!

And to be quite honest when they took my dog to the back I could hear her barking and crying. I feel as if they do not care about the animals there they are only worried about the check!

Have an emergency but never picked up the phone good thing my dog is still breathing

I found a kitten at my Job before Ida hit. She still needed shots and a checkup. MSAH is hands down the best to take your pet. Setting the appointment was so effortless, and the Vets and the staff were very amazing. I would definitely send as many pet owners as humanly possible. Allie and I felt right at home.

I got charged $50 for eye drops at the clinic. Exact same product was $10 Sam's pharmacy. Come on.

I'm making this my regular veterinary clinic. All 3 of my dogs will be coming here in the future, as the care and compassion we were given on Saturday was just what I was looking for in a veterinarian. Dr. Meredith was kind, and addressed my immediate concern with Jake. I only wish I had thought to check them out sooner, rather than for an emergency.

Dr. Meredith and the staff are super friendly made my 11 year dog who was severely sick and myself feel so comfortable not only gave me options financially. I have been to other vets where I felt like just another number, but everyone here understood my dog is my family and made me feel at ease that everything was going to be okay! Def recommend!

Dr Mouney (Opthalmologist) is caring and the staff is always so helpful. Brutus had an aggressive onset of glaucoma and uveitis, at a time my big guy was in so much pain and my husband and I sick with worry he was well cared for. Highly recommend

My poor little kitten got very sick and I was able to get him in right away. They were very kind and generous and took great care of him. I was even able to bring him back the next day. I was unable to successfully administer his medication and they took care of that as well very quickly. Happy they were able to set my mind at ease at such a stressful time.

I would never even think of taking my cat any other place. The staff is so kind and caring. The doctor’s go above and beyond expectations. They truly care.

These wonderful people have saved my cat's life - twice. Customer service is top notch - every single employee is laser focused. So when you have their attention it's in full. Even now through the pandemic they are super helpful and caring. Proud to have my pets health services here.

The staff at Metairie Small Animal Hospital are amazing! We had to take our 5 month kitten in for an emergency appointment due to him vomiting worms up all day. We only waited for about 5 minutes before the Vet was able to see us, not the mention the facilities are very clean. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with all of our questions! They were able to get our little guy all calmed down and back to his old self.

We came to MSAH to get a second opinion. Dr Allison thoroughly evaluated our previous results, recommended a thoughtful and thorough course of action, and kept our budget and needs in mind. They are our new vet.

I have been bringing my pets to MSAH for a very long time. The staff is wonderful. When boarding my dogs I always know they are getting the best care. Most recently my dog, Cody, was very sick with TCC and kidney failure. Dr. Daryl was great. He guided us through every step with chemo and fluid treatments. Lauren at the hospital was great in her care of Cody along with every staff member we got to know through our many visits. Just want to tell them all thank you and we are so thankful to have them taking care of our pets and our newest addition, Travis.

I really love all the vets here. I've been coming here for a very long time. Saw Dr. John Martin for many years and was so sad to see him go.... Dr. Joe treated my Husky Andy who had multiple health issues and was great. It would be hard to recommend any one vet in particular they are all AWESOME!

my dog had a seizure and we made the drive to metairie a little before 10pm, panicking because our dogs are our children and we didn't know what was happening to her. the wait time was a little longer than expected, but the lobby was extremely peaceful. the ambiance and soft sounds playing from the speaker helped both our dog and us to calm down and relax while we waited for service. Dr. Matt did the exam and explained each part very thoroughly and patiently, even when we asked him repetitive questions. our dog was very comfortable being handled by the vet and vet assistant and we will definitely return in another emergency. i trust them with my pups!

All of the vets and faculty at MSAH are a joy to see! No matter how busy they've been, we've always been happily greeted and seen as quickly as they could manage. The quality of their services, including their customer service, has been wonderful every time I've visited.

Dr. Alex has always been thorough and attentive when we have had to drop in for an emergency.

My most recent visit we dropped in around midnight, but he did not hesitate to take my girl back as soon as possible and had her examined, anesthetized, stitched up and woken up SUPER quickly. Our entire hospital visit only took an hour from the moment we walked in, and the stitches looked great!

Dr. Samantha has been awesome for many of my preventative care visits with my two Shibas, and she even went out of her way and worked with Dr. Siggy to have an alternative spay procedure done on one of my girls when I requested it.

My other girl isn't exactly a pleasure to work with, but Dr. Samantha has always been very calm and patient with her (even through her classic "shiba scream").

Dr. Mary and Dr. Meredith are also both wonderful, caring vets that I've had the pleasure of seeing. Overall, I'd gladly trust any of the vets here with the care of my pets!

I want to thank the Staff at MSAH for take such good care of my cat, I was so scared when I went in Sunday evening Dr. Rachel made My family and myself very comfortable. She helped us save him. Also Dr. Diana was great today in taking care of his wounds and helping me understand what is best for him.

MSAH & staff are truly amazing. I would like to thank Dr. Rachel, Belinda & Dominick, for their kindness & compassion. They went above & beyond tonight, to make my Toni as comfortable as she could be, as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge, from a sudden illness. From Check-In, to Saying Goodbye, they helped make this terrible time, a little easier for me. I highly recommend MSAH.

We came in with an emergency and they were very good to us. They were very helpful and caring and made us comfortable. The Dr showed expertise and was thoughtful in how she spoke with us. I would highly recommend this Hospital.

I have 2 cats; one of which is now 1 year, 2 months old now and I believe she is still alive today because of MSAH. Our regular vet was closed and we had noticed our kitten was looking very ill. She was so weak, she had pooped on the bed and wasn't able to get up. She wasn't eating and she kept crying. It was the saddest thing and so we found MSAH, called them up, and brought her in ASAP!

She stayed overnight and came home the following day. She made a quick recovery too. Today, she is a happy, healthy, girl and I couldn't be more grateful. The attention they have her and the care...was excellent.

We've had great experiences with MSAH. We have an elderly dog requiring frequent visits to the vet. Their comprehensive services (regular veterinary care, 24hr hospital, surgery capability, laser therapy, grooming, and boarding) were the primary reason we chose this vet when we moved to the area 3 years ago. We primarily see Dr. Chris and Becky, but have had great experiences with other providers when we've needed to be seen for urgent matters.

Despite the main hospital being so large, many of the staff know us by name when we walk in the door. We've also used the Lakeview branch for grooming and they provide that personal, small clinic feel. Highly recommend their services.

Our Boston Terrier Jax loves MSAH, and so do we. When we drop Jax off for boarding or take him to an appointment, he couldn't be more excited. And when we pick him up, it's like he doesn't want to leave! The doctors, technicians, and staff could not be more accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. Such a great place! I called to inquire about getting an ultrasound on my girl. Michelle was so kind and was able to schedule me on the same day. We saw Dr. Gordy Labbe for the procedure and he was wonderful. He was so informative and never made me feel rushed. I think if I had a million questions, he would have patiently answered them all. This was my first visit to MSAH and I know I made the right choice. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!
