Flakey. Tim no showed to our first scheduled appointment without even a call or text. When I called, he rescheduled with me to the next day. The next day, I called 10 mins before the scheduled appointment to confirm he was on his way - he wasn't and wanted to come back several hours later. I declined - if someone isn't dependable during the estimate phase and can't even call or text that they had a conflict, you can be sure they won't be dependable when completing the actual work.

I prefer to deal directly with a company I'm having an issue with vs. a public forum such as a Google review however I've had no success in doing so with KC Dog Guard. KC Dog Guard installed an electric fence approximately 3 years ago and it worked great. Our neighbor had some construction done and the line was cut in a few places. I've been talking with Dan (the GM?) for over a month in an attempt to have him reconnect the lines.
We've set at least 5 appointments to meet at the home and he has yet to show. I don't get a call when he misses appointments - I have to make several attempts to reschedule. I would use another company but I'm not sure who will do the maintenance beyond the initial install at this point. Update: Just noticed a reply from the business. I have no record of a call; let alone multiple calls or email from you so I doubt any attempt was actually made. I'm very good about checking emails, voice messages and returning calls.

***FINAL UPDATE*** 12/3/19 I FINALLY spoke to someone yesterday after calling from a different number (maybe that's why they answered). I was appalled to read the claim that they had called and left several messages - LIES! After a lengthy conversation, they could not proof they've been calling or emailing me (I could screenshot my calls to them to show I indeed had called), I chose to believe they never did and decided to part ways and lose my warranty with them.
If anything does happen to the fence or equipment, I will have to pay out of pocket. I still say they sell a good product. Batteries were left at my front door (no receiver - not sure why I would need one anyway). So finally after 7 weeks I HAVE MY BATTERIES! So sad, all this could have been avoided by just sending the batteries or admitting they messed up, we all do.
Instead they decided to be dishonest and question why my batteries were dead or if I even were a customer! Again, so sad. Hopefully they've learned something. **UPDATE*** 11/29/19 I did call the number you gave me and left a message. I've emailed the email you gave me. You have chosen to not respond nor be truthful! Maybe even reply to the email you actually admit you received!
Better yet, mail me the batteries I prepaid for and I can be done with your company! All you ever had to do was mail the batteries! Actually, at this point I am done with your company due to your lack of customer service and more importantly you're DISHONESTY. That was Monday and as of today, Friday, still no batteries. These batteries ($100+) were prepaid when I had the fence installed and if you don't use their batteries you void any warranty. I would recommend ANY other invisible fence company before I would ever use this one. I will be letting corporate know, what a disservice this office does to their brand! I also am contacting the number on the batteries to see if they can help.

They did a quote on the computer. Sent the quote immediately. Called before you dig. That took more of a fuss to get them to mark all the lines. I was told 24-48 hrs. Took 5 days for Call before you Dig. As soon as they were done, Dan got started. He had it done in a few hours. Then answered all questions and Trained our dogs and trained us how to keep the training to help or dogs get used to it all.

I just moved to KC and called to get a fence for my dogs. I got a call back the same day. Dan came out so I could show him what I wanted. He gave me a quote right then. I had my installation within a week with training for my dogs. I called back with training problems and Dan came back out and showed me what was happening for free. Customer service was great!

My wife hired this company to install the invisible fence. We were preparing for a new puppy and it was an Xmas present for the kids. My wife purposefully set an appointment for 8a for the initial install to allow herself time to drop off the kids at school and come back and the kids wouldn't know the difference. He of course shows up at 7a while we are running around the house trying to get the kids out the door.
He seemed more annoyed that I had to get to work and couldn't help him navigate the yard.never apologized for being so early So we get the invisible fence installed. My wife sets up the next appointment for doing the initial training of our puppy which is a couple weeks after we pick her up. And I must mention that we paid everything up front (we will never do that again).
He of course misses his scheduled appointment and we can't get a hold of him for the next few days. It takes me having to call from a number he doesn't recognize for us to get a hold of him. He agrees to come out super late at night and is still 45 minutes late for that. We had to do training in the dark which isn't ideal. Last thing so far. He gives us his personal cell, saying to call if we need anything at all, so we texted about two weeks ago saying we needed the next collar up from the one he gave us.
It is way too small now and he said collars are included in the purchase of the fence. He responds and says he will send it in the mail. I'm sure you guessed that we haven't received it in the mail. He now doesn't respond to our voicemails or texts. The whole situation is super frustrating. You pay someone for a service, and it isn't cheap, you expect to get the advertised product.

They go about and beyond what you would expect from a company. They have been in business for over 15 years. And after working with them you will know why. They care about the well being of you dogs. They all so have a leash that they make. That made where my dog stopped pulling when I take him for a walk. Even if you don't get there system installed. But one of there leashes.

I was first exposed to this wonderful leash when my daughter's dog came to live with me. Walking him using a standard leash with or without a harness was a difficult challenge. With the no pull leash, I can do it with ease. I got another one for my energetic puppy and it works wonderfully. After telling my friend about it, she asked to borrow it. Now she doesn't want to give it back because it works so well. Thank you for this wonderful product and please hurry with my new leash.

I met Jim at Barktober Fest yesterday and he showed me the Walk Me Leash. My vizsla, Kane, hates his pinch collar but really pulls too much when he gets excited and he tends to wander in front of me on our runs, which is dangerous, because I end up kicking his feet on accident. I tried the Walk Me Leash this morning on our run and it was a miracle!
He stayed right beside me the whole time! He seemed much more focused and not bothered by the leash at all (unlike the pinch collar). I'm an so happy I saw your booth yesterday and I will be telling everyone about this leash!

I have a 3-year-old pug, Aspen, and she's a muscular little 20 pounder. That girl can pull and tug! I've always had an issue finding a collar or leash that would 1. fit correctly and 2. help her correct the constant tugging. I tested out the Pull No More Leash and I instantly noticed the difference after putting her harness back on. It's nowhere near her neck area, so it's easy for her to breath since she is a pug!

I have had my fence for over 3 years now and I have to say its the best thing I purchased I have made in a long time. The owners are great to work with and they are very good at hiring great quality people. Jim one of the owners is a great person and always willing to help in any way he can. The service they provide is exceptional and do a great job of repairing and responding to customers.
I read the reviews and its sad that someone would slander a company that works as hard as they do to make folks happy. It seems there may be some untold facts that this guy has conveniently left out. My guess is he did not follow their instructions and or directions. Jim and all his guys have always been prompt, courteous and extremely good at their job.
Trust me, I speak from experience, I had a real meat head of a dog and I needed a lot of help! They were always there to help me whenever I called. I now have 3 dogs, the system and service is great! You just can't pick a better group of folks or a better system.
