It’s taken a while for me to write this review. We left this place after our boxer almost died getting neutered. They used a medication for sedation that is known in the veterinary community harmful to boxers and they were not aware and used it to sedate our boxer. After they spent the day on the phone with a cardiologist and trying to keep him alive we picked him up at the end of the day and had to pay over $500 for for services that were given that as their mistake! Needless to say he was not neutered that day as they had to spend their time keeping him alive (thank god he made it) but to not be well educated on breeds that come in there and potentially harm and animal due to lack of knowledge, then charge your customer for services that occurred due to your lack of knowledge is disgusting! If you have a boxer stay away from here but also stay away as if they lack this general knowledge what else do they lack.

Very friendly and professional staff. They explained everything in detail as to what they recommended and why. Then provided a cost of each suggestion, and gave me time to decide what I can and was willing to do. No pressure or guilt-trips, just honest suggestions with medical backing as to why. I will definitely be taking our pets back!

We love this vet! We just started bringing our two dogs here and we are so happy. The Doctor and every tech is so thorough, professional, and just a pleasure to interact with. My dog has had a bad foot for awhile and she is the first DVM that has cared to go above and beyond to help us figure out the problem. We feel more than confidant when our fur babies are in their care. Thank you to all the staff! We appreciate you.

I really can't say enough about the staff at Red Barn. Routine scheduling, follow ups and reminders are handled like clockwork, but beyond that, they are always willing to handle special requests for emergency appointments, prescriptions and needed paperwork. They really care. Add to that, a friendly, knowledgeable staff whose main goal is a healthy pet and satisfied owner, the combination is unbeatable,

I'm only leaving a one star because I have to. This is by far the worst vet my husband and I have had to deal with. We switched vets because we needed one that actually worked on the weekends (unlike the Red Barn). My husband is on call during the weeks and it is very hard to schedule a vet appointment without knowing his schedule. They refuse to see our dogs without paying their fee for not showing up to the previous appointment (which my husband has called every time he has had to cancel) Their professionalism is non-existent.
We reached out to a new vet closer to Fowlerville and they were so incredibly sweet. They tried to get our dogs records from them, but REFUSE to give them to the new vet until we pay that fee. They clearly do not care about the well-being of your pet and it shows by their money hungry attitude. My friend took her dog there and after the first visit she refuses to take him back there because her dog was terrified after coming out of the vet (you still aren't allowed to go inside with your pet to make sure they are okay).
I was hesitant to take our dogs back there after knowing that, but now I'm definitely not ever referring people to go there. Got the vet records, so have fun with your balance that will not be paid by us. Just lost 3 patients over trying to money grab. If you love your pet, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS VET! There are so many other ones that are better in Livingston County.

I recently joined this vet my first experience with them was pretty good however it was during Covid so I was unable to see if they did anything that they charge me for when they brought my pets in I'm assuming they did. My current job I am on call often and explain to them it is very hard for me to make appointments during the week because there's always a chance that I might have to go to a job I recently had to go to a job an hour before my appointment and reached out and let them now they now are saying I never called and I was a no-show so they are charging my account $25 per dog and I have three of them.
They are now saying I have to pay that late fee before they reschedule me another appointment and also they will not approve a prescription I need for heart guard medicine through Chewy because they want me to pay the late fee first they are holding my dog's health over my head trying to get the $75 out of me. Hi plan on switching vets and my new vet tried to reach out to them and they will not send any of my pets records to the new vet until I pay the late fee they are basically holding all my pets information hostage as it's their own just to try and get advantage of that payment when I spoke to the girl on the phone she did not even seemed to care what my excuse was and was unwilling to work with me I even offered to pay once I come in on my new appointment as I didn't have my wallet handy and she said she will not give me a new appointment until this is taken care of very rude and unprofessional even the other vet said they've never heard of such a thing and asked Redbarn why they won't release the records to me and the lady said because we're not doing it until we get our late fee. Horrible place to work with.

Horrible customer service. They will tell you that you need to give them your drivers license number just for your pet to be seen here. But then they tell you that they need it if rx's are prescribed. That makes no sense to need it to be seen but only for a controlled substance prescription, definitely an invasion of too much personal information to have your pet seen. Very rude employee when I questioned them on this.

This place is just incredible! We are new in town and made an appointment at another vet but Red Barn was able to get us in sooner due to a cancellation. The staff there are compassionate, personal and professional. Obviously this starts at the top as the 2 doctors are incredible people let alone professionals. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and we would recommend them to all dog owners.

Red Barn staff are so caring, compassionate, and loving to our senior crew here at Golden Years and Floppy Ears Hospice Sanctuary. The vets answer my laundry list of questions about each senior's health concerns to help me be a better health advocate for our hospice babies. We've had amazing success with all our surgical procedures utilizing isoflourine anesthesia and skilled vets.
They accomodate emergencies and urgent appointments when one of our geriatric patients are sick. We LOVE Red Barn and very grateful for the amazing care they provide our residents. They help me provide a healthier, beautiful final chapter in each life

I began taking my two Shih Tzus and Labradoodle to VMC when we moved to the area last year. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and it is not hard to get in for an appointment. I have seen bothDr. G and Dr. Fried. The doctors are thorough and patient and have helped me address a variety of health issues (bladder stones, ear infections, blood work etc.) with ease. Highly recommended!

We boarded our dog for 5 days. My wife went to pick him up and was told to meet the dog by the back door which was unusual. She quickly found out why. His bedding that we provided was soaked in urine and had to be thrown out. The tag on the bedding was a deep shade of yellow. We had to bathe him 2 times to get the urine out of his coat. He smelled from head to toe.
I called to inquire how often he was let and told every two to three hours. I found that hard to believe because of the state he was in. I requested that a manager or boss contact me for a further explanation but have not heard back from them.

I have not yet done the pet sitting here, but recently switched my dog from companion animal hospital ( read my review on there page) to Red Barn Veterinary medical center for all of his medical needs. The Vets are great, and you can tell they love what they do. They are time efficient yet take the time necessary to talk about any issue or concerns they had and any issue and concerns I had in terms of flea treatment and protection going into this summer/fall.
They only recommended necessary tests and found that my dog was far better cared for than I EVER felt at companion. Aside from the actual care and medical aspect (which I felt was top notch) a couple of weeks ago when I went in they had completely re done the waiting room and some of the exam rooms. It was more than okay before but what a face lift! it looked awesome!

If I could give them zero stars I would. Horrible customer service, set up an appointment to put my senior dog down and had nothing but issues from the start. Having to do the hardest thing as a pet owner they made you feel like you were in inconvenience to deal with. I even emailed them personally about my concerns and never received a email or call from them. I would never recommend them to anyone!
