I have been coming here for close to 20 years. We have taken everything from hamsters to chickens to rabbits, parakeets and of course dogs and cats. They have been extremely professional, knowledgable, and kind. Very importantly they do not over test. They use common sense and their veterinary knowledge and experience and will run the tests when needed but not unless they are needed And they have always been correct on the diagnosis I have taken my dog, in their absence, to other well known facilities who charged thousands in tests and where they told me she should go to Davis for analysis but would probably have to be put down. Dr Sexton took one look and diagnosed her correctly with a bladder infection. A round of antibiotics and she was fine. I would and do drive an hour to take my animals to them.

Wonderful service. Kind and understanding. So helpful! I loved that during Covid the Clinic allowed me to actually speak to the doctor and not a phone!

I've only had two visits with Dr Sexton but they've both been wonderful experiences with a commitment towards concerns with Freya. Times are tough nowadays but they've managed to exceed my expectations for the care of my fur-baby.

First time to visit Dr. Sexton. He is compassionate and kind with our senior pup. He was reasonably priced and wasn't pushy about recommending lab tests, additional meds, specialized food, etc. We were very satisfied with his care and office staff support. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Sexton and his office staff have provided the best veterinary support for my animals for 15 years. I followed Dr. Sexton to other clinics, and followed him back to Alamo when he returned, to retain his care and guidance for me and my pets. It is my pleasure to recommend the Sexton Clinic and the compassionate care you and your pets will recurve.

Conscientious, kind and give amazing service without pushing extra vaccinations or lab tests. Very sweet with my spoiled dogs and even called groomer to confirm rabies vaccines for me. I'm very glad they are back in Alamo.

Dr. Sexton is one of the nicest vets around. His staff are all super friendly and recognize and know our dog's name when we bring her in. We've been going here for over 10 years and will continue. Dr. Sexton also understands that vet visits can be very expensive and will work out what's best for you and your pet while letting you know about the cost beforehand. There is no worry about overpaying as they give you a cost up front and you can accept or decline. Would definitely recommend and my dog would agree too.

I brought my dog here to be neutered & to have a few baby teeth extracted. Dr sexton was very nice & seemed to care about my dog. It had a very family feel to it, which I appreciated because I really don't want my dog to feel unnecessarily stressed. It's bad enough going to the vet! Everybody who worked there was friendly & seemed to be ready and waiting for my dog to arrive.

The pricing wasn't cheap, but it wasn't the MOST expensive. I was very happy with how my little guy seemed to feel after, and he has snapped back quickly. He didn't even have to wear a cone. A couple of things they can work on are pretty minor. They do need better signage. It doesn't say Sexton Clinic on the sign, I think it just says Veterinary Clinic. Also, I asked them to email vaccination and neutering records so I could upload to get my dog licensed, and they said they didn't have that capability. That's a little strange, but the #1 most important thing is, and will always be, how they make your pet feel and the quality of medical care, and I was very happy with that!

We're totally new to the state, and we found Dr. Sexton from a Google search. He's absolutely wonderful. We took our puppy there for all his shots, kennel cough, and neutering, and every experience has been amazing. Dr. Sexton himself even called to let me know my boy did well through his surgery and was waking up. The office is always clean, and the front desk people are friendly, helpful, and kind. I would recommend Dr. Sexton to any pet parent!

Found our forever vet. Dr. Sexton and Loraine are wonderful. They're solutions oriented but are always cost conscious. They run a clean, friendly shop and they provide really excellent care. We're so happy and thankful they're in Alamo. If they ever relocate, we will follow

Dr Sexton is hands down the most caring vet you could ever wish for! He truly has the compassionate touch. I have had all sorts of animals my entire life and am continually impressed with each visit to this clinic. I was referred by a friend as a place for a second opinion and Dr Sextons knowledge saved my dogs life. I am truly grateful for the knowledge, compassion, and reasonable pricing. :

I worked with Dr. Sexton many years ago when I was a vet tech. I've since changed professions and relocated back to the East Bay Area. I needed a vet and it was natural for me to choose Jim Sexton and his team. He's knowledgeable, compassionate, genuine, gentle and kind. He has your fur child's best interests at heart always. He's in Alamo so a bit more pricey, however you won't get better care and he won't gouge you for unnecessary tests, procedures etc. I fully and completely recommend you check out his practice.

Went to see Dr. Sexton today because our dog, Murray, was sick with an ear problem for 3 MONTHS! He was so gentle! He was so kind! My dog felt safe in his hands! Loraine, his wife, fit us in right away and was so kind and welcoming to us too. We are new to this clinic but will be going here for many years to come!

Truly the best vet in the area. He's extraordinarily smart and great with our dogs. He's been seeing my oldest, 16-year old dog for most of her life. It is a small, family-run practice. He really is very knowledgeable, and I appreciate his expertise so much. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Sexton is a terrific diagnostician; thorough in his exams, ethical in terms of telling you the truth about your dog and what he or she needs. From something sort of small like "my dog wore his foot pads down in a too-long run" to something big, like supporting you if you have to make the decision to end your best friend's suffering, even when no one wants to. He's kind and helpful. Most recently checked out my new miniature rat terrier and gave him a clean bill of health.

Was taking our Labrador to another vet and was told our dog possibly had Addison Disease. Having heard the news, I was shocked and started to research it. I wanted a second opinion and brought our dog to the Sexton Clinic. Turned out to be the best decision ever. Ended up not being Addison and Dr. Sexton correctly diagnosed it as Hypothyroid. Our dog is now on a pill a day and is back to her normal self with no problems. Have been coming here for over a year now and Dr. Sexton and staff are top notch. Super friendly and a nice clean practice. I highly recommend taking your pet here.

I am SO happy to have found this place! They are competent, caring, kind, and flexible. I appreciate the follow-up calls as well. We adopted 2 kittens from the Dublin SPCA and are happy to have established care at this vet and look forward to future visits.

I made an appointment with Dr. Sexton today for my beloved bichon Tina. I had a good feeling about him from the start because his receptionist/office manager was very friendly on the phone. Always a good sign! My dad took Tina in and Dr. Sexton was very patient, calm and kind to her. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We are happy to find a veterinarian for our pooch and will definitely be back for her check ups.

We have taken our dogs and cats to Dr. Sexton for well over 2 decades and are thrilled he and Laurain are back in Alamo in their own practice again. And they've hired a very capable, friendly assistant Devon. Because of their excellent care, our pets have been able to live out long and healthy lives. Twice we thought our beloved old shepherd mix Jake was ready to be put down, and both times Dr. Sexton rightly disagreed.

Most recently when, at the age of 14 and with a bad knee, Jake fell into a creek and got stuck in the mud and his back legs wouldn't work when we pulled him free, Dr. Sexton & Laurain came out, scrambled down the steep creek bank and, after examining Jake, gave us the good news that it was not a "life ending event." Jake recovered and, while still old and creaky, continues to enjoy his evening walks and chows down every meal. Dr. Sexton is practical, recommending against some expensive treatments that proved unnecessary, and he is compassionate.

Their modest clinic shouldn't dissuade anyone--I really appreciate that because they don't have fancy offices and their overhead is lower as a result, they can charge reasonable rates and still provide the best care possible.
