The idea for Urgent Vets For Pets was to allow an option for pet owners to get their beloved companions seen and treated without having to wait for an appointment from their regular veterinarian. We understand that things happen and nobody wants to see their pets sick or in pain. Urgent Vets For Pets is also here to help lessen the burden on primary care veterinary practices who may already have a full schedule and need to refer their patients so they can be treated.
In this day and age our pets are truly a member of the family and when they are not feeling well or have had an accident we want them to be treated as soon as possible as we would want for our human family members. Urgent Vets For Pets is a walk in practice with the goal of treating you and your pet like family.
Our goal is to have your pet seen in a timely manner and get you both back home. Since Veterinary ERs are often focused on life-threatening emergencies, there can be extensive wait times for non-life threatening conditions. This is why are here to get you pets urgent medical conditions treated in a timely manner at a reasonable cost.
Did you know that many medical conditions that affect your pet can cost significantly less if diagnosed and treated early, rather than waiting?
At Urgent Vets For Pets we offer outpatient treatment or short-term in-hospital therapy and hospitalization to get your pet back on the path to wellness!
If we determine your pet is in more severe or critical condition we may stabilize your pet then have you transfer him or her to a 24 hour Veterinary Emergency Hospital. For Patients that need continued care after we close we work closely with our local after hours emergency hospital and may transfer to them in the pm for overnight care and accept transfers from them in the am when they close.
We look forward to being here for you and your pet!

Digital Radiography

We use digital x-ray to confirm pregnancy, assess injuries, and examine patients’ bones, and organs. Our equipment allows us to get a more clear picture of what’s happening inside a dog or cat’s body.
Digital radiology allows us to quickly diagnose problems so we can begin an appropriate course of treatment. Our veterinarians will interpret your pet’s radiographs immediately. We will email these to your regular veterinarian after your visit.

Surgery
Report
At Urgent Vets For Pets, our state-of-the-art surgical suite has everything our veterinarians need to perform a wide variety of soft-tissue and some orthopedic procedures. Our patients’ safety and comfort are always our primary concerns. All surgical patients are thoroughly examined to ensure they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. Our team provides constant monitoring for patients during their procedures, and will be by your pet’s side while they are in recovery. Ultrasound
Report
We rely on ultrasound when we need to examine a pet's reproductive organs, spleen, liver, lymph nodes, heart, intestinal tract, kidneys, or pancreas.
Our veterinarians use ultrasounds to diagnose things like masses, cysts, nodules, and abscesses. Ultrasound examinations do not take long, are completely pain-free, and do not expose your pet to radiation. By providing this service in-house, we can obtain a great deal of information about your pet’s health, diagnose various issues, and get your beloved pet back on the road to recovery as quickly as possible. To find out more, give us a call now.

Euthanasia
Report
It’s never easy to say goodbye to a beloved pet.
Sometimes we need to make the choice to help our pets pass peacefully. At Urgent Vets For Pets, our compassionate veterinarians and staff are here to help you through this difficult time.
If you are trying to determine whether the time has come for your pet, here are a few things to consider:
Are they in chronic pain?
Are they unable to eat or drink normally?
Are they unable to go to the bathroom on their own?
Do they have more “bad” days than “good” ones?

We took our German Shepherd puppy that we believed was suffering from distemper. The vets were extremely professional and quickly got us in. They tested for parvo before letting us in the clinic, after he tested negative we went inside and they did bloodwork, fecal, gave him pain injection, the medication he needed, food and water. They took great care of him and we brought home all the medication we needed. It was all $600 and something and we do not regret. We feel that was really worth it and we appreciate all they did.

Brought my dog here after he was bitten by the neighbor's dog who got loose and my regular vet couldn't see him same day. They were incredibly quick, listened and asked questions in a non-judgemental way, and made my wary-of-strangers dog feel comfortable and at-ease. If I ever have another emergency pet need, I will be sure to bring my pets here.

I am so thrilled to learn of a new emergency clinic in the Sandhills. After my dreadful experience at the emergency vet clinic on Highway 1, Vass where upon they paralyzed my little Roxie. We took her to NC State and the Vet there appalled at what they had done. Needless to say Roxie could no longer walk and went to play at the Rainbow Bridge. I am so HAPPY to have an alternative with a fabulous and experienced vet team at Urgent Vets for Pets.

I've had my dog Mollie, who is dog aggressive, at this office probably 5-6 times in the last month or so for a recurring aural hematoma. The staff here was so good about making sure to get her right in and into an exam room and the doctors are a DREAM! On top of that, the facility is gorgeous and always so clean, which means a lot. I am recommending this office to everyone that will listen at this point. My only wish is that they were a regular vet office so I could keep bringing Mollie on a regular basis. THANK YOU Dr. I., Dr. R., and staff for everything!

Trixie Rose had a weekend of coughing fits that was distressing. Our vet could not get us in and sent us to the new Urgent Vet. The vet tech was so good with Trixie and gentle. They offered options for testing.or not. Dr. Rainier explained exactly clearly her recommendations and the effects of the medicines recommended. Trixie was doing great after the visit and is much better today!

Had to take my boy here today to cross the rainbow bridge. I could not have asked for better care. I'm pretty abrasive, even on my best day and they were so patient and kind. Every single little thing was explained and it happened just the way they said. If you need care in between a regular vet visit, THIS IS THE ONLY place I would go.

Our cat had to be transported here and put on oxygen. They are brand new and just opened but I can not speak highly enough about them. The entire staff was incredibly kind and patient with my husband and I. In such a stressful time Dr. Rainer was amazing! She explained everything thoroughly; twice even, because my husband had stepped out and I wanted him to hear everything too. If your fur babies need an emergency visit this is the place to go!
