Hillsborough Animal Health

The Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation was founded in 1987 by a community-minded group of Hillsborough County (Tampa/Tampa Bay) area veterinarians to foster the human/animal bond and promote improved pet health and pet care through emphasis on pet owner education and the dissemination of pet information.

Where does the adoption donation go? The donation helps cover the costs incurred while the cat/kitten was in the care of Animal & Bird Hospitals of Tampa, such as exams, blood tests, 1st vaccines, spay/neuter, food and medications. Our fourth annual Healthy Dog Day, this year named "Dog Day on Broadway, " was an amazing event, with 130 dogs.

Kitten season is upon us. The cats and kittens of Tampa Bay are in need of homes, and local resource centers and rescues are operating at full capacity. St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is fostering over 600 kittens and cats, . Our fourth annual Healthy Dog Day, this year named "Dog Day on Broadway, " was an amazing event, with 130 dogs.

To facilitate preparedness in the event a weather emergency forces an evacuation, the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation each year provides pet owners with the Hurricane Preparation for Your Pet brochure. These brochures are available each year during the hurricane season from the Foundation office, local newspapers, participating organizations and member veterinarians.

Every year, Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation member veterinarians provide countless volunteer hours to schools throughout the Hillsborough County School System. Below are some of the primary messages that we share with children.
