Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital

As a first time pet owner, I was extremely anxious to take my little fur ball to the vet. The staff were extremely kind and answered all of my crazy "what-if" questions. I've never had a bad experience, and would recommend anyone to take their furry loved one to this establishment.

We are so thankful to have found this Vet. We really appreciate their honest and thoughtful approach to veterinary care! We have an older dog and we're expecting them to want to do numerous tests and procedures to treat her, but they didn't. She has been cared for well, and as pet owners we've been relieved to have her under Dr. Foresters care.

Um. I used to really like this place until today. I love Dr Hurst. He is quick and does a great job. But incredibly awkward interactions with the rest of the staff. It was confusing like I had somehow offended them with my presence. I was a little dirty from after work (maybe that had something to do with it), and I refused to buy their expensive cat food. I only refused the food after searching online for a cheaper competitor. I paid my bill in full and personally will not be coming back. "Two Stars, Disliked it."

After only taking my dog to our hometown vet (hour and a half away), I needed to find a new vet for my pup. After calling numerous places and checking out lots of reviews, I settled on Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital. I could not be happier. My pup had an allergic reaction to something and his poor eye was almost swollen shut. I called as soon as they opened and they were able to get me in at 9 am.

I arrived 10 minutes early and was called back within just a couple minutes of sitting down. The vet tech (wished I remembered her name) was absolutely fabulous. My lab is almost 7 and a big guy but she was incredibly sweet and gentle with him. The vet (Dr. Forester) was awesome as well. They quickly diagnosed the problem after a thorough exam. We were in and out in about 30 minutes with all the needed medication.

After just 12 hours, the swelling was almost completely gone and my dog seems so relieved. I was nervous about going to a new vet after reading lots of bad reviews from other places of being rushed and overcharged. I felt like both the vet and the vet tech took their time and did a great job. It wasn't cheap, but I feel like the prices were reasonable and didn't feel as though I was overcharged. I can't recommend these guys enough. It was well worth driving a little outside of Nashville for a good, thorough check up.

After working in the veterinary field for many years I'm very picky about what practice I bring my dogs to, I am beyond happy I found this practice. The staff were amazing and my dog Waylon absolutely loves them. The doctor was thorough and helpful. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

Got my 10 month old black Labrador Retriever spayed and it was such a great experience. We dropped her off at 8 am and picked her up at 3pm the same day. They called us the day before and explained everything and while she was there they continued communicating with us about how she was doing and what not. Considering I'm a worry wart, it was so reassuring to hear our baby was doing well and in great hands.

They also called the other vet we got our dogs shots at to double check her records which was awesome! The reception women are the sweetest and so helpful too. Along with her spay, they microchipped her, gave her a rabies shot (they asked us first), and gave us her medicine, a cone (didn't use it bc we got a onesie), tags for her collar, and discharge instructions. Overall, her incision is extremely clean and barely noticeable.

It is now one day after her surgery and she's already acting like her normal self (eating, drinking, playing). Highly recommend Harpeth Valley and their amazing doctors and staff!

Literally the best animal hospital on the planet. They have helped our pets in sickness and health and have even help us morn a loss. They are amazing! God bless HVAH!

Dr. Hurst and the HVAH staff are the best! I've taken my goldendoodle here for years and when I got a golden retriever puppy recently we took him here right off the bat. Unfortunately he had a few health hiccups but Dr. Hurst was there for us the whole time/answering all of my questions and always following up. It's difficult in Nashville finding a vet that you love, can work with your schedule & always takes the time to follow up so if you've been looking then I can't recommend Harpeth Valley enough!

Love this place. Dr. Hurst and staff are all caring people and love animals. They saved my cat from the brink of death. They work very hard to keep furry friends happy and healthy. I highly recommend them.

I had to visit HVAH to purchase something that was not in stock at my normal vet. The staff were helpful, kind and easy to work with. If I didn't have an almost 30 year excellent relationship with my existing vet, I would strongly consider moving to this practice.

Our fur baby hurt front paw this morning and couldn't bear weight. Our usual vet couldn't see nor work in. I was very upset and got an appointment on my first call here. Dr Hurst and staff were awesome. We now have a new vet! Thank you so much Now for the fractured toe repair!

I love Dr. Smith! She is amazing and often they squeeze us in for same day appointments which is so accommodating! The staff is so knowledgeable and kind to my dog. I trust their judgement and they never perform any unnecessary tests which is a huge plus. I've since moved pretty far away from this vet but I'll still keep coming back because of how amazing they are!

We took our diabetic cat to Valuvet for chin acne and she was given a steroid shot. She then started to refuse to eat and to have multiple problems and did some research. a diabetic cat should not be given a steroid shot! We then took out cat to Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Smith, Dr. Hurst, and the entire office staff were wonderful during the 2 week struggle to get her well again. We should have gone to Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital FIRST!

Our two wonderful dogs are very happy patients of Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital. We have been going here for several years and very highly recommend the doctors and staff here. Everyone is professional, knowledgable and friendly. They treat our pups like family and are highly qualified vets. What stands out most about Harpeth Valley is how much they truly care about the animals and their families.

My parents also took their aging Cavalier King Charles to Harpeth Valley. When he passed at 14 years old, the doctors and staff took amazing care of him and of my parents. Their care was sincere and heartfelt and made a difficult day a bit easier. We recommend Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital without hesitation!

Wonderful staff and service. Worked my dog in on a Saturday at the last minute. Very reasonable fees. Kind and loving doctor and staff. Highly recommended.
