Wish we had found this place sooner. Wonderful, wonderful facility. This is a large clinic with multiple doctors - the place is super clean, with friendly atmosphere, runs with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine, staff are helpful, nice, and clearly love pets. Dr. Ann Ichikawa's experience and skill literally saved our dog's life by quickly recognizing that he had cancer before tests confirmed it, then helping us coordinate care with specialists.
We've also seen Dr. Gross and Dr. Burpo, and all are excellent. We are also so appreciative of their requirement of masks and other protocols as we have family at higher risk of serious Covid. They still offer curbside, but you can also come in with your dog, and the techs and doctors come to waiting area to discuss. On the day our dog was diagnosed with cancer, they let me wait in a special "caring room", which was so helpful at the time. Other nice perk is food and delivery service, which we have also used. Highly recommend!

We had a horrible experience with the Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach. For the 5 months we were going there, we never left without a bill of 300 or more. Our pets, who seemed perfectly healthy, kept coming back with tests stating that it was 'asymptomatic giardia, ' 'asymptomatic UTI, ' etc. On top of that, they even tested our dog for a UTI without our consent, complaints, or symptoms (he was there for recurrent allergy to grass, which he now simply gets a shot for at another vet). Additionally, when leaving they told me that we could not get our animal's records and they had to be sent to our new vet but they repeatedly did not send them.
It took me at least 4 tries to get our new vet our pet's records. Ultimately I felt like they took advantage of us, and never actually solved any issues. I recommended NEVER going here, and instead go to Huntington Pet Vet.

My experiences with AHHB have all been wonderful. Their attention to my pet's needs as well as being conscientious about the billings have made me feel confident that my pets and I are getting the proper attention and treatments we need. I have already referred Dr. F to my neighbor with a new puppy on prednisone. Thank you for all you do!

I had an appointment placed on the app. The wait was reasonable. Staff was friendly. The waiting room is sufficiently spacious. I talked directly to the doctor. I was advised of the costs and options. Test results arrived next day via email. Everything was great! I don't have any recommendations to make it better! Thanks!

Horrible management. Horrible pricing. Horrible people. And my pets still sick. I had an appointment today. was chastized for calling the emergency line on accident and Hannah "the manager" started to tell me she was too busy with other things than to take my call in a horrible horrible tone which was rude to me. I called her on it and she continues being rude.
I asked her what her name was and that I want management. She hung up on me.then called me back in a totally different voice. I went inside to see what she looked like and to talk to a superiors. Later on that day they threatened to call the police if I were to come back. In that flippant bratty voice of there's voice

I called in the morning for an emergency appointment for my two rats with respiratory distress. The receptionist called for a triage nurse and got my pets in the back within 10 minutes of arrival. Each member of staff saw my pets, the nurses got them into an oxygen cage right away and told me what the next steps were every time I talked to a new person.
They have a big, new lobby owners can sit in, which was nice and cool and respected social distance procedures. I had a hot chocolate while I waited, which was nice while I was feeling stressed. Overall I spent probably two hours there, which is pretty great for an emergency visit. They presented me with an estimate I felt was of appropriate cost and everything went smoothly.
I was able to voice my concerns to the doctor directly in a private exam room, where she (Dr. Gross) was very kind and informative and clearly knew about rat husbandry. Her assistant was very clear and kind as well. I had a great experience here and left feeling that my rats were well taken care of. I have been here in the past to see Dr. Ichikawa with my other rat who had cancer, and her care gave me nearly two wonderful weeks with my rat before I had to euthanize. So, two for two in quality of care!
I will definitely be returning and I feel great relief in knowing there is a local vet who is always there for me for my rats, especially since so many exotic vets are few and far between. Big thank you to the staff at Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach. I hope when I see you next week for my recheck that my little ladies are feeling better!

This is by far the best pet care we've experienced. We have owned pets over the last 2 decades and have used many different veterinary offices. Hunting Beach Pet Hospital has it all. Professional staff, great doctors, grooming, boarding, and products. The best part about it is that my dogs get excited, yes excited, to be there. They listen to you and do what's best for you and your pet. You won't regret making this your veterinarian. Get the pet plan and earn points for every dollar you spend plus extra perks. It's worth it.
