DO NOT COME IF YOUR PET NEED URGENT CARE! They ask if your pet is still breathing or not, if yes, means there has other priorities than your pet. Make sure to read some review before park your car in front of their facility waited for 2,3 hours and pet still has not been seen by a doctor. Thank you but will never come back again

So here's an update. When they saw our pet, they charged us a certain amount down. In the course if his treatment, we didn't end up spending that much, so they said they would refund the amount. We'd just have to call. So I called and was told I'd have to come back there IN PERSON to receive the money we're owed. That's just mean and petty. So I have to remove 1 star. They were extremely helpful and compassionate during a very difficult time for us.

I am so disappointed with this place. They didn't even want to check on my dog, apparently for them it was not a priority since he was not bleedibg or almost dying. My poor doggy was in pain, shaking, had shortness of breath and was drooling, something that he does not usually do. They said they've had a critical night but I was constantly seeing a lot of nurses coming in and out from what it looks a breakroom. I really can't believe they didn't have one person available to check my dog. They honestly don't care about your pet .

Everyone at Beacon Veterinary Specialists is absolutely amazing! The entire team is caring and compassionate. They treated our Lola like she was their own. We went to Beacon for a second opinion after a disappointing experience with another surgeon. As soon as we got to Beacon, we were welcomed. The doctor took his time to examine our dog and to explain to us what is going on.
He recommended surgery for the CCL rupture. We left Lola on the day of her surgery with mixed feelings but we knew that she would be in good hands. Shortly after the surgery, they updated us on Lola's surgery and progress. When we picked her up the next day, they explained to us in detail of the post-op care. Lola is 4 weeks post surgery and she is recovering so well. She is already applying 100% of her weight of the injured leg. Thank you! We highly recommend Beacon Veterinary Specialists!

I've taken my cats to beacon for emergencies. I had a chronically ill kitty-cat who had to visit a few times, and they were always very nice and prompt. I've been maybe 4 or 5 times total in the last 4 years, and I haven't had a single negative experience to speak of. I also recently had to say goodbye to one of my sweet little cats, and it was incredibly difficult being my first time having to make the decision to euthanize a pet.
They were very patient, kind, and made the process a lot easier to bear. Hopefully I won't have to see them again for a while. I have great appreciation for emergency veterinary services. I greatlly appreciate all the work you all do at all hours of the day.

I am so sorry to say that my experience here was terrible. I brought my dog in for emergency care and Dr Appel said my dog needed to be euthanized. They had found a mass in her chest but could not take a sample of it to send to cytology. she herself said that it could be many things, it could be cancer, it could be fungal, or it could be benign but that we wouldn't know unless we transferred her to another hospital to pursue further diagnostics.
When I asked if my dog was stable, she said yes, but that she doesn't recommend taking her home. We kept our dog in the hospital overnight and spent the whole night crying and thinking how could this happen and in the morning we decided to take her home. Dr Appel, again, strongly recommended that we not take her home that either 1) we transfer her to SAGE to get a CT scan but they might not be able to do it that day due to high demand.
But we'd have to pay hourly to keep our dog admitted to the hospital. Or 2) euthanize her. Well, This is a long story but basically, we are at home now with our dog one month later. We had other consults and appointments but our dog is currently stable and totally acting like herself and normal. Though her diagnosis and prognosis might not be good, I'm so happy to have advocated to take her home that day.
We discharged her against their medical advice and followed our gut. I can't imagine how terrible I would be feeling if we euthanized her that day WITHOUT knowing what exactly is wrong!

I brought my cat, Twix, in because she wasn't eating and had lost a lot of weight. They took her in very quickly and the night doctor, Dr. Lynn, explained the tests they be running and when I could expect a followup. As more diagnostics and procedures were needed, she talked me through what they were for and why they were necessary. She kept me informed and involved at every step.
When she broke the news that Twix has FeLV (likely contracted before I rescued her 4 years ago) and explained that she has a tumor in her chest, she was very caring and compassionate. She talked me through what this meant as far as end of life preparations. I was able to pick Twix up the next day to take her home and care for her until it's time, and I am planning to return to Beacon when the time comes. Thank you, Dr. Lynn and Dr. Portela for your compassionate and clear explanations. As I said, I don't know how you do your job; you are angels.
