The mission of the Alabama Animal Alliance is to significantly reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Alabama through prevention, education, and collaboration. We collaborate with veterinarians, animal shelters, rescue groups, and residents to provide high quality, high volume, low cost spay and neuter surgeries for companion animals.
Spaying a dog or cat eliminates her heat cycle. Estrus lasts an average of six to 12 days, often twice a year, in dogs and an average of six to seven days, three or more times a year, in cats. Females in heat can cry incessantly, show nervous behavior, and attract unwanted male animals. Unsterilized animals often exhibit more behavior and temperament problems than do those who have been spayed or neutered.
Fact: Spaying and neutering does not make pets fat or lazy. The truth is that pets get fat and lazy because their owners feed them too much and don't give them enough exercise. Fact: Having your female pet spayed before her first heat cycle can decrease the incidence of mammary (breast) cancer by 95%.
Your pet is going to have major surgery. Spaying and neutering are very safe medical procedures. As with any surgical procedure, complications can arise and great care needs to be given both prior to and following surgery. The surgery requires general anesthesia. The patient is completely asleep and unable to feel or move.

I have used this service in the past, and was pleased. But this visit was very different. At check in, I was dealing with female whose name tag identified her as the Executive Director. I found her confrontational, hateful and feel she had no customer service ice skills. She had the attitude she was doing me some great favor. She needs to remember that she only has a job because people like me use this service. I

I took my dog to get neutered here because I heard it was one of the most affordable places in Montgomery. They were great. You drop off your animals early in the morning (I think I dropped off my dog around 7am) and pick them up around 4pm. I highly recommend them if you're on a budget and want a good job done.
