Did you know that accreditation for animal hospitals is voluntary? Surprising, isn't it? Nearly 60 percent of pet owners believe that their pet's veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In actuality, only 12-15% of animal hospitals have gone through the accreditation evaluation process by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

**Update to post below** A while after I posted this I actually discovered that not only were Tobey's ears matted his tail was too. If you choose to you Cobbs Ford for grooming make sure to check you pup before you pay them! You dog may look fine but upon closer inspection the job may not done properly! I've never had to check before. I guess this is what we get for assuming!
I could not be more disappointed! I searched for an all in one clinic that I could take my doodle to for grooming, boarding and vet services. I wanted him to be familiar with the place and to have all his records in one place for ease of anything that may come up. I was very pleased and the staff was very helpful and friendly at all times.until there was a problem.
When I called to get a groom I was asked if the person that did the groom last time was ok. I said "no, lets try someone else. Tobey's ears have been matted the last few times I've picked him up after a groom." She responded with, 'I don't have anyone else." I asked if they had only one groomer and she said no, I have 2 but the other one only does small dogs.
I asked if this person had been doing Tobey all along and she said no, the previous groomer is out on maternity leave. That was it. No apology, no regrets. Just take it or leave it. I wasn't sure what to say so I asked for a manager. She, Erica, said she was a manager. Still nothing. I told her I was very surprised at her attitude and that I was just surprised.
She asked me what I wanted her to do. She then proceeded to tell me that I could take pictures and send them to her and she could talk to the groomer and they would. and I quote. "see if they could fix his ears". What? First, why do you need pictures? And what if you can't 'fix' his ears.and is there a possibility that they can't be fixed? So unfortunate.
And I don't know who reads these but if you look at the records you will see that I have been very consistent in bringing in Tobey for care. You will also see that his ears had gotten so bad because he had been boarded with you for a week! I am also very sad that this didn't work out. The business concept is great but the customer service when there is an issue is NOT.

I couldn't recommend this clinic enough even if I tried. Dr. Gamper and his wonderful staff went above and beyond every expectation we could have had. We went over the weekend for an emergency situation with our cat, Zeke, and they took us right in and gave him the best care we could have hoped for. They took the time to thoroughly explain his diagnosis and what our options were.
Not only did they provide top tier care for Zeke but they also took care of us. They called us with updates, let us call them at any hour to check on him as he stayed overnight at their clinic, and also let us bring him back in when we had a concern. Truly, thank you for not only taking care of him, but also saving his life. -Stormy E.

*This review is for the grooming services* We take our dog here for pet care. The vet does a good job. We had also been taking him there for grooming as well. We loved the way he looked when he was groomed by the folks there. It was a reasonable price and he did not have to stay there all day. However, they recently changed the policy and are requiring a influenza shot (~$30) and a fecal matter test (~$30) every six months.
This makes a grooming appointment over $100 at times! No other groomer requires this or has required this in our past. It seems like a complete money grab to me and should be changed back to the way it was before. This policy applies to those that get their vet care there or not.

I have never experienced a worse veterinarian visit in my entire life. I brought my dog in for an emergency visit because of lethargy, weakness and loss of appetite. Our normal vet was not open so I used this place. After a $100 exam, the vet told me that my dog has early signs of pneumonia but to know for sure, chest x-rays we're needed. Another $215.
Then she says that she believes he is starting to develop pneumonia. Prescribed medication for another $100. She did nothing onsite as far as administering any meds nor any IV or any other treatment at all. I return home and start to give the first doses of the prescribed medication and upon opening his mouth, I discovered that his mouth and gums are full of infection and a very large abscess is clearly visible as well as a terrible smell. So, his problem is a severe oral infection.
My dog DOES NOT have pneumonia as stated by the vet. So after $400+ for the services, my dog continued to suffer. Will not eat. Cannot hardly move. All because of an obvious misdiagnosis. The $400+ is not the primary issue. I would have paid $4000 if I knew it would help my dog not to suffer and to get his condition under control. My dog has absolutely no cough and no other sympyas related to pneumonia.
He has a mouth full of infection. How could a competent vet not even look in his mouth? Had she been thorough, the horrible infection is clearly visible. I am truly disgusted and outraged at this total lack of knowledge on behalf of this vet and this practice. I will leave this same review and rating on every possible site that I can to share my negative experience. $400+ and the actual condition was not even identified and treated.
Absolute incompetence. EDIT: My beloved dog JoJo has died. I'm not necessarily saying that this vet killed him but they sure did nothing to prevent his death nor did they do anything to help ease JoJo's suffering. I contacted this facility a few hours after the initial visit to convey that JoJo had a mouth and snout that was full of infection and that he also had a large abscess in his mouth, which again, was not even checked or discovered during the so-called exam.
His lethargy, weakness and loss of appetite continued to worsen. On Sunday morning, I spoke to someone at the facility at 11:30 AM and conveyed that JoJo was rapidly getting worse and that I had concerns and questions and that JoJo was really suffering and could anything be prescribed for his pain. I received a call back at 4:00 PM.ALMOST 5 HOURS LATER.
I was instructed to give him the same medication that was prescribed for this "pneumonia". Although he presented zero symptoms of pneumonia and was prescribed Gabapentin for his obvious pain. Absolutely no concern was shown by these professionals. I did my best to try and keep fluids and chicken broth in his body via syringe and his suffering continued to worsen. Finally, at 1:00 AM last night, he convulsed and died with the infectious discharge drooling from his mouth and snout.
This morning, which is Monday, I called Cobbs Ford Animal Center to speak with the manager so that I could convey my displeasure and to be sure that the manager knew exactly what had transpired over the weekend. But after a couple of initial questions from the receptionist, I was told that someone would "do their best" to call me sometime today. I am appalled at how this facility handled this illness and I am disgusted at the lack of communication.
I will tell anyone and everyone that I know to stay away from this vet clinic. I buried JoJo out by his favorite plum tree. I decided to proceed with burial versus scheduling a necropsy, that would definitely prove that this incompetence contributed to JoJo's death. That's it. My beloved pet of 13 years is gone. These folks did not provide adequate support or care for my JoJo. Edit: To Dr Camper who replied to my review.your comment is a outright lie and has no truth to it. Your "experienced vet" did not remotely mention anything about his oral infection. Do not get on here and lie in order to save face.

The first interaction we had with them was when we had to put our cat down, they were all so nice and caring. After the experience we had with them we started using them as our dogs primary vet. They are always so nice and remember us every time. The staff is friendly and always accommodating to my full time schedule.

I had an emergency with my puppy in the afternoon hours, he was vomiting and had severe diarrhea. After they ran a few test it came back that he had Parvo. The staff was SO amazing and helpful beyond words! My sweet baby is home now and doing much much better! If you are looking for a place that will treat your pet as if it were their own this is the place to go! I cannot say enough good things about them! The prices are very fair and they do all they can to make sure it fits your budget! Thank you guys for being outstanding!

We spent $170 and given the chance to do it again, I would. Even for double the money. We drove an hour to show up at ONE AM with a BUNNY we thought was dying of GI Stasis. (Think really bad gas and intestinal blockage.) it turned out to be a parasite from the awful pet store we rescued her from, but the vet was able to rule out GI Stasis before even doing a fecal.
We were given the meds we needed to get her better, the exam, her medicine, extra syringes for her medicine and water, along with the nurse sexing her and giving us a little bit of hay for the long ride home. FOR $170. I couldn't be happier.
