We booked a 3 week kennel stay 2 months before vacation and we had gone to office 2 times to make sure everything was set up ok. Even picked the 2 kennels for are dogs. Now 2 weeks to vacation and we stop by to check on reservations and they cant find them and they are all booked up. They acted as if they couldnt care. We found a different kennel and will never be back. Be Ware Just because you have a booking doesnt mean it will be there when you take your dog to drop it off.

Absolutely horrible. it says that they do exotics and small animals and then turn around and say that they don't do cats or small dogs. turned a patient away with a chihuahua and said we do not do small dogs. and told me that they took care credit and when I showed up with my service dog they said that they don't accept care credit and was baffled when I showed them the text saying so. don't trust this vet office. my dog is a very alert and aware animal. as soon as the vet stepped out of the building I could tell that my service dog was uncomfortable just being in the car in front of the building. do not recommend. find some place better. like a place that actually listens to the pet owner and not try to talk you into other treatments that won't work.not to mention they are more expensive then other vets in the area.

Dr. Brown was amazing. She made an appointment for me super fast, I didn't feel pressured to spend extra money. She was upfront about all costs before proceeding with care so we knew what was going on. She was so gentle with my senior dog and genuinely cared about her physical and mental well being. She explained all results in a way I could understand. Absolute 5 star experience and they now have a whole family of fur babies as life long customers and patients.

VERY happy with our new vet clinic! We moved into the state and love that we've found such a genuine place to care for our 3-year-old labradoodle. You can tell that this isn't a business whose #1 goal is to make lots of money. Their #1 goal is to care for your animals. Dr. Brown was very thorough in her check up on our pup, and she was transparent in what she recommended for Teddy and what the cost would be. Definitely will be staying with this practice!

We have been taking our pets here for years. Dr Knudson is kind, caring, and very knowledgeable. I have never had a problem with any of the staff. The pricing is fair and I love their different areas for service. One of my current boys doesn't do well around other dogs so I appreciate that we can be seen in the gazebo or little cabin. Thank you for making time for them when they are very sick, it's a relive that they can usually get us in quickly.

My dog was attacked, recently in a horrible accident, our usual vet did not respond well or help us. I had to deal with police and some stuff, but when I called and asked, they fit me in immediately, even when it was closing time for them, they fit me in and helped my dog. She had to stitches and cleaned and everything possible for her wounds. They were detailed the second she came out, they told me exactly how deep, how to clean, what to feed and how to give medicine.
I had a written report and had all the information I needed. The amount I had to pay, was I will say the big factor. The tax sheet they gave me was detailed and told me every cost, it told me what to do and how to care for her. This place won my heart over and eventually won my mom as well. We now take both our dogs here, they're very nice and warming and not just a standard hospital.
They are a small community of their own with boarding and such, recently we've had to put my mothers dog through training due to behavioral concerns, they had all his documents ready and it was easy to get pickup. They are flawless with service and respond nicely and make sure everything goes well. I'd suggest coming here for all reasons, for just a checkup to hospital to boarding. It's a lovely place I plan to continue to go for as long as I stay in Colorado.

My dogs are not well behaved, friendly, or even remotely pleasant in a veterinary setting. I love that treatment rooms don't force unpleasant interaction with other animals or owners. I love that vet staff listens to the owner and works around the "short comings" of the doggo. The prices? Well, let's just say this. it doesn't get more affordable or reasonable.
Gold star to you folks, thank you for being there for us (even if Opal acted like a snot) we appreciate the attention to ALL of the details you provide our puppy and her family.

I wanted to thank the staff at Coal Ridge Animal Hospital. Our beloved 16 year old dog Cali was dying and Dr. Knudson gave up her lunch hour to come to our house to put Cali to sleep. It was very peaceful for her, and we got to be with her. It was also very reasonably priced. Thank you so much. You don't know how much this meant to us. Thank you, Cassie Kearney

The Dr & Eric & the entire staff we're awesome! They were able to see our dog right away that same morning when we called them. They were cautious & took precautions for Covid. During the exam the Dr was able to identify the issue & eliminate the problem in a matter of minutes. She then prescribed medication & explained what to watch for if they're were any problems.
We paid the bill which was less than we were expecting & we were on our way it was that simple. Our dog was feeling much better than when we arrived & the medicine is making her feel much better. I would totally recommend Coal Ridge Animal Hospital for their great staff, professional care, affordable prices & very caring with your pets. There were many cars coming & going so obviously other people feel the same.
Also the premises was very appealing, they're were flowers everywhere, benches to sit on, dog runs, it seemed well cared for & that someone cared about having an appealing atmosphere.

We used this facility to board our dog for few days. I think we've found a gem. Their staff is very friendly and seems to be doing a great job. Since this place is also a hospital it gives me better assurance that my dog will be in good hands in case any medical attention is needed. There rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend you to try this facility.

Staff and Vets feel like friends. They truly care about your animals and make sure that all of your questions have been answered before you leave. They never rush, and they are very thorough. My dogs get super excited to come here, because they remember the staff. Absolutely love this place and highly recommend

I'm just posting this review to offset the ridiculous 1-star review by Joni M. So she let one phone call decide her whole opinion of this clinic? Some people should not be allowed to post reviews. My experience so far has been completely the opposite - I got an answer on nearly the first ring from a very friendly and professional young lady. What's more, I was astonished to find out that they provide a first time visit for a puppy at no charge, including the initial vaccinations.
I am just very chagrined that I did not call them first, since I took the recommendation of a relative to go to another clinic, where I got stuck with a $177 bill. I will likely be scheduling his second appointment with Coal Ridge, based on my combined experiences.

I recently had given these guys a bad review because of a long weight time etc. upon following up with the vet I completely changed my mind. He took time to talk to me on the phone and make recommendations for my pet. I had a one off bad experience, 2 out of 3 have been exemplary. They have gained back a loyal customer. The place can be quite busy, so be prepared. Everyone who works there has been very friendly and helpful. I would recommend CRAH once again.

Coal Ridge Animal Hospital is such a great place to board animals, Dr. Knutson is one of the best doctors there and she's always so helpful. My husband and I love her! The reception staff is always so nice to me and very patient. Yesterday evening, I went to pick up my dog, Dr. Knutson was so kind to me as well as the gentleman that was helping her!
I love how Dr. Knutson lets younger adults help her out of front it gives them more experience in the workplace! Not a lot of businesses do that, the young man was very professional and helpful when checking me out. The young lady who also helped them seemed to have an attitude and pulled my dog when she was bringing her up and it looked like she was having a hard time breathing once we got into the car.
I was not too happy how the young lady handled my dog or her attitude towards me, she didn't say anything rude but her actions were very unprofessional. I will always come back to Coal Ridge though, such a great place and my dog loves it!

Very good to the dogs but I saw the boss and I think a manager treat their coworkers badly. They should be more kind to their employees because I'm sure they work hard. They're just teenagers and shouldn't be treated so harshly. I would like to see a change in how they treat the younger employees when I go in, I know if my child was working there I would want their managers and boss to treat them with respect and be understanding of their mistakes. I came to pick my dog up today and was pleased with how they took care of him.

The entire staff at Coal Ridge has your pet’s best interests at heart. They are caring, knowledgeable, and the level of care is excellent. They are always willing to listen and take the time to explain your dog or cat’s health needs or diagnosis. They understand your dog or cat are important members of your family.

I used Coal Ridge to board my cats while I was out of town on business for a few days, and I will absolutely bring them back in the future. I felt very comfortable leaving them there with the 'cat room', not to mention the other cats being boarded meant they are popular in the community. When I picked them up they had report cards informing me about their habits, like eating and litter use. Pleasantly surprised, we will absolutely be back!

We had to put one of our babies down today. These days always become the worst of our lives, but everyone was extremely professional and caring. Our usual doctor was out and another doctor helped our baby cross rainbow bridge. She was knowledgeable, empathetic and supportive of whatever decision we made. It was difficult, but we appreciated the best environment possible and the professionalism and care from the staff. Thank you.

We no longer live in the area and continue to use Coal Ridge for boarding and vet services because we are so happy with them. The boarding area has always been clean. Our pup is always hesitant to go but doesn't want to leave when we pick her up. And the vets, I cant say enough good thing about the vets. The prices are fair and I believe they really do care about your pets.
They always follow up and make sure you are happy after a vet appt. or boarding stay to make sure you don't have any issues. Today one of the vets skipped her lunch because she wanted to see our dog sooner than our originally scheduled 4 PM appointment because of concerns after an emergency surgery. She called and asked us to come in earlier, this was not a request by us. That shows me that they really do care.

We recently adopted a dog from Boulder Valley Humane Society, and this was listed as the only one in Firestone that participated in the "free" first visit. Our dog had started scratching, so made an appt. Able to get him the next day after a phone call. My husband took him in and was instantly thrilled with the place, the atmosphere, the way the staff greeted and interacted with him throughout his visit.
Both the Dr. and tech got right down on the floor where Mark and Dodger were sitting, and exam commenced! He felt the conversation flowed, he was able to ask questions and felt the Dr. had plenty of time to chat about our new addition to the household. We have been to other vets, and they too are wonderful, Mark gave an unhesitated YES, to the question, so do you want to come back here then? So.that is what we will be doing!

Love everyone I've seen here! Dr Knudsen really "gets" my dog and his breed and has him feeling better quickly. Once, when he became acutely ill on a Friday, she gave me her cell number in case he got worse over the weekend. Who does that!? Mostly they tell you to go to A$pen Meadows. Also, excellent dietary advice. I'm a barn manager, I know dozens of vets and see them work every week.
I adopted my older dog with some existing problems. I took him to several area vets, was sold irrelevant and expensive diagnostic tests and poor Noodle was misdiagnosed so he continued to have pain. Coal Ridge sorted him out! They've helped keep his maintenance effective and affordable. This is the best small animal practice in the area.

Coal Ridge Animal Hospital is amazing! They provide the highest quality of care at an affordable price. We always board our Shiba Inu there when we're out of town and they always treat him like the prince he is. They know him by name and always provide personalized care. They're definitely our number one pick for boarding and we drive out of our way to get there.

Again, I am so impressed with the staff here. It was time to finally put my 16 year old lab down and I needed to do it sooner than later as she was in major kidney failure. I called Friday morning and They graciously came to my home on that same Friday evening, last minute to make this sad time a little easier. I also lived about 35 minutes away! The vet was kind and patient and it was a very peaceful way for my dog to go.
When I picked up my dog's ashes and paw print later, they continued to show their compassion. A week later, I received a nice sympathy card from them and later followed a letter from the Wild Animal Sanctuary that a donation was made from the vet on behalf of my dog, Harley. I just can't believe the lengths they go to to make this whole process just a little easier. They truly do care about the well being of your pet (and you). Thank you Dr. Knutson.you surely run a first class veterinary practice.

They really saved our bacon this Christmas. The weekend that we came up from New Mexico we found out that my brother-in-law would not be able to take care of our dog as we visited a friend. Dante is a standard poodle, 3.5 years old, and fairly active. I called probably 15 or more Longmont area kennels and there was literally no room in the inn -- except for Coal Ridge.
They wanted a $50 deposit, which I was perfectly willing to pay, and we were set. And then our plans changed and we traveled a day late, driving up Monday instead of Sunday. I called them the morning of our intended arrival and they changed our arrival date without complaint nor fee. So customer service is an A+. The facility itself: the entrance is the vet's office and I found it a little smelly, but I also tend to occasionally have hyperosmia and am sometimes excessively sensitive to smell.
It wasn't 'drive me out of the building' bad, but it was noticeable. We paid an extra $9 per session for him to have a play hour to recreate with other dogs, unfortunately he only got two play sessions because of timing and the holiday. The workers were very precise in inventorying all of the toys that we brought for him. When we picked him up, he was overjoyed to see us, and the employees provided us with a report card.
He got top marks for being well-behaved and getting along well with others, and all of the workers loved working with him. He had no injuries, but neither did he have the slobber matting his fur as we would have expected had he gotten to roughhouse with other dogs like we know he likes to do. So perhaps his recreation hour was a little more constrained than he would have liked.
The portions of the facility that we could see were quite clean, I didn't get to see in to the kennels and play area like I would have liked, but I also didn't ask. I'll have to make sure to ask if we take him there again. I heard an employee explain to a customer that the dog area had radiant heating in the floor, that struck me as perfect for dogs.
The cats had a room of their own filled with insulated windows facing south, giving them all the time in the sun that they could possibly want. So all in all, we thing Coal Ridge is an excellent kennel facility. I can't comment on their veterinary care as we had no need of those services, but if their vets are as good as their kennels appear to be, I think they'd be fine.
One final note: in the non-winter months, they have a pool for the dogs to play in during their recreation time. Dante likes water, I expect he'll enjoy it if we ever have an opportunity to use them again.

We have indoor boarded, groomed and "vetted" (lol) our dog here and have not received anything short of awesome care and hospitality. The only issue we ever had was a grooming one, and it was very small, and they immediately fixed it for no charge. Our Silky Terrier requires often expulsion of anal glands internally and they were always quick to get us in and out and provide regular "maintenance" to help relieve her.
We had Dr. Knudson and she was delightful and is passionate about animals. We moved across town now, but I would board out pup here again anytime. And highly recommend for local vet services. Hours are also really good for working families.

After moving to CO from NY it was tough to find a good vet. All of our neighbors recommended Coalridge, and we are sure glad they did. Great for shots and checkups, but we had a pretty big medical emergency and they staff was wonderful. They were able to stabilize our dog for the trip to the emergency clinic and for that they earn 5 stars and my thanks and business.

We've taken our dogs and cats to Coalridge for eight years. They supported us through our greyhound's cancer, our lab's knee surgery, and has shown great care & concern whenever we've been there. We have never boarded our pets, but alot of our friends have with great results. Everyone there is wonderful!

We boarded our small dog here for over a week. We chose Coal Ridge because our usual vet didn't have room for him over the holiday weekend, their website had pictures of really nice boarding facilities, and they were fairly close. I drove out to check it out before we dropped him off. Everything seemed to look okay and I felt fairly comfortable about it.
We took his bed and a few toys with him. They let us take him back to his kennel to drop him off. When I put his bed on the floor, he immediately let me know what he thought about the whole situation by peeing on it. The girl that led us back told another worker what had happened and that it needed to be cleaned up. I went to pick him up today. While we were in the building, everything seemed fine. 5 minutes after being locked in the car with my dog, I realized that he reeked of pee.
They had not washed his bed and both it and my dog smelled disgusting. So basically my dog had been sleeping in urine for 10 days. I also don't like that they charge extra for walks and play time, whereas our usual vet includes these "perks" for free. Overall I just kind of feel like they fed him, let him out 3 times a day, but otherwise ignored him. We definitely won't be going back here and will be better organized and book early at our usual vet next time.

I have definitely been to better vets. I can't comment on the boarding services at this hospital, but I did take my two dogs here starting with their first few puppy shots. They are very friendly, especially Dr. Pang- I never had any problems when seeing Dr. Pang, however I found she wasn't always available for consultation. As the year progressed, and my dogs needed more attention (Giardia, anyone?), I didn't like the prognosis I was given for several things.
I felt I was up-charged on everything, and often charged when it didn't make sense. One example was the vet telling me that she wouldn't charge for a wellness exam; however, she then turned around a few minutes later and told the receptionist to ring me up for two wellness exams- one full price, and one as a "recheck" when that dog hadn't been in for several months.
One of the dogs had a histiocytoma on her ear, and the vet didn't even suggest that could be the problem- she simply stated it looked like an infection, that her ear was probably bit when playing with the other dog. When the benign tumor grew worse, I took her back two weeks later, and they tested the cells in her ear (why couldn't they do this the first time?).
That didn't provide any information either. It eventually went away, as a histiocytoma does. I found myself paying ridiculous amounts of money, even for a vet. No more Coal Ridge for this family.
