I will update this later but we had the most horrific experience at this place last night. We have been there with four other pets and Dr Gunner has been wonderful. The place is a nightmare now with little to no care of the animals. They are there to make money, they are not there for quality of life for your animals. I will keep it short for now but elaborate later, we had a 6:40 p.m. appointment to have our dog euthanized because he is a very old man.
At 9:00 p.m. we were still sitting in the waiting room listening to him whine in pain and we did not leave there till almost 11:00 p.m. The manor in which they carried out the euthanization was unbelievably cold and terrible. I am in shock this morning and I feel incredibly guilty that this was the last memory my dog would have and I would have with him.
I beg you to take your animal somewhere else. The details of what happened to us are so terrible that we are filing a complaint with the state over it. I'm just in shock today.

Before the remodel, I truly had great thoughts about Cedar Vet. Granted, the front staff was moderately rude before, it was understandable. I get the environment is stressful and busy, so I never really gave it much thought. However, ever since the remodel every single time that I have visited Cedar, the staff has been absurdly rude and dismissive.
I along with others have been completely ignored until they are ready the assist you. When I first came into the new building, I was unsure of how to proceed so I walked up to the desk and mentioned I had an appointment. I was ignored for two minutes while the receptionist refused to even glance at me. It wasn't until she was done with her task until she acknowledged me which I thought was truly rude.
I was new to this office and was unsure of the checkin procedure, and this rude "welcoming" had really just set the uncomfortable tone in the office. The vet techs were also very dismissive and in all honesty, they had zero communication skills. The energy was very awkward while interacting with them, and they didnt care to explain what was actually wrong with my dog or what the medications did.
They simply read off the list and pricing then asking how I wanted to pay. When I questioned what each medication did, I was met with annoyance. This was extremely discouraging when I simply wanted to know what was wrong with my dog and what these were doing to help him. The vet on the other hand was kind, informative, and clearly cares about the work he does.
I used to love Cedar but these recent visits were devastating. Two stars for the vet himself and the new building, but it does not mask the very ugly energy emitted from reception.

Whichever staff member you have working on Sunday June 19th, 2022 at 6pm, know that they are doing an amazing job. That woman was fast and very polite to each and every person in line. Even though she stated they were understaffed and very busy. I do not know her name but she definitely is a great staff member, if you're reading this, please know you are doing a phenomenal job and thank you for helping me today.

This is the first time I've been here since they remodeled. Very modern, clean, and plenty of seating! Before showing up for a walk-in we called to be sure they were accepting walk-ins, but had to call 3 times in order to reach someone plus waited almost 8 minutes on hold before they answered. When we got there, I waited almost 5 minutes to talk to the receptionist as they both were working on one issue instead of separately.
When we got to the back the nurse and Dr. Madsen were nice, informative, friendly and explained everything thoroughly. Not sure why it takes so long to answer the phones, and why they only have 2 lines open, especially for being a hospital. Overall experience there was great, just need to work on the receptionists and phone system. Thank you

I strongly recommend Cedar Veterinary Hospital to all who are in need of animal care. Everyone, I mean everyone, that I encountered there was helpful, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding of my particular circumstances concerning both my dog & cats. After my first visit CVH became my facility of choice. They are a full service veterinary hospital with convenient hours including weekends. Fees are quite reasonable. You may make appointments or walk-ins as needed. Dr. Nick you have wonderful colleagues and staff. I thank you all.

Absolutely no communication. 1)My French Bulldog was going into a scheduled surgery, vets office called at 4:00 pm said they would call in in two hours to let me know how she was doing. Never called ( I feared the worst) I called they did not answer phone. (2) we took her to get her staples out after, seeing vet, was told by assistant she was going to easily remove staples and take blood, about 20 minutes.,,a n hour and a half later, she is still in back no info (this time my husband thought something went wrong) A three hour visit. BUT #3) IS the Worst! Vet said pre surgery bloodwork, showed my dogs liver enzymes were at 7000! 1-120 is normal, stop a medication she was on (Did first time it's told$ They took blood again and said they would call me tomorrow.when they finally did call assistant said dogs enzymes are at 1000, it's gotten worse (was told for 3rd time stop medication) I said, WAIT, did vet misspeak and meant 700 and it's getting worse OR was it at 7000 and now getting better.
I explained my question over and over to PLEASE look at first blood test for comparison, (simple) I was told she would absolutely talk to vet, and "call back in 20 minutes" That was Five days ago. I can not get a hold of them. I literally do not know if my dog is getting better OR if her Liver is failing!. Trying anything to answers. I signed up to their website for medical history (we are at about $3000 in 6 weeks) it's shows every thing but blood tests results. It has been awful.

PARVOVIRUS IF YOUR DOG HAS PARVO OR IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHOSE DOG HAS PARVO *PLEASE READ* I will leave a list at the end of the review of what i purchased This place seems great in the waiting room but it isn't, the receptionist's seem fine if you do decide stopping by just note the waiting room is small and most people usually have there pets on leashes so beware but no the main horror of this place is they only desire money not the wellbeing of your pets.
My puppy 2-3 months old contracted parvo now i lost 3 dogs to this deadly virus and i wasnt gonna lose my new family member so i decided to take him into this vet well they charged me for $45 for the checkup and $67.75 for a parvo test mind you i already knew he had parvo my puppy had endless diarrhea nd was throwing up the night before so anyways they were gonna charge me $1,700 to keep him for 2 days and everybody knows it takes dogs about a week to recover from parvo so at that rate itll be $5,100 for 6 days now i dont have that kinda money laying around i asked the vet is there another alternative and she informed me that if i leave with my puppy my puppy will die so i left but at the same time i didnt wanna see my puppy die so i did what i can.
I rushed home i did hella research bought pedialyte and I basically force-fed him and nurtured him and bought this medication that brought him back to life as i did research i read that some vets will offer you medication that you can buy and basically do it all yourself and save half of the money they didnt offer me that they just wanted my money the point of my review is i spend $400-$500,a week of sleepless nights and brought my puppers back to life hes 5 months going on to 6 now im not bashing on the facility im bashing on there greedy work ethic List of items I purchased 3 bottles of pedialyte (unflavored) About 20 rolls of paper towels Bleach (important) Paxxaid(important) Vibactra(important) Baby food (important) Syringe for feeding Comment on review for questions

Wonderful caring veternary care for your pet in the heart of Fresno. Staff is knowledgeable helpful friendly, prices are fair for excellent service - especially for the small Emergency visits that can happen :/ they took great personal care and concern for my little dude and I'd recommend them any day. Office and waiting room remodel is just beautiful very well done

It is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one. Went in as a walk in at 9:30 am and was told that it could take about an hour because people with appointments get priority. I actually waited 3 hours before I left. IN that 3 hours only 4 people went back to be seen. meanwhile the waiting room filled up with walk ins. I wish they would have just been honest with me to begin with. I feel like I was mislead and disregarded. I will not be back.

I made an appointment for my dog at 3:30 and I had to leave early from work because they had no other time. Had to go across town get my dog and go to this vet office. I get here and they thought I was here for vaccinations when I was here because my dog had an injury. I specifically told them this on the phone. They then said I would be put on the waitlist.
I waited with my husky for 2 hours. Still was never seen. Finally just left. Reception staff very unorganized. Waste of time, gas, and my dog was never helped. 0/10 do not recommend.

I don't like to give bad reviews but In all honesty save your money and go elsewhere. They have terrible communication amongst themselves. This place is a joke I took my dog for a UTI and to our surprise he had kidney stones. They said he would get a catheter to relieve his kidneys which was NEVER done. They said he needed surgery and the staff gave me an estimate so we decided to go through CareCredit only for them to return and say the surgery was actually more. SERIOUSLY!
I couldn't even get ahold of care credit to try and increase my amount because it was closed. We literally paid $400 for them to do a bunch of nothing! JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere where they truly care for your pet because it isn't in this place.

Honestly, I feel like the staff is friendly. But they were not helpful at all. Told them my dog was throwing up and pooping liquid. They assumed it was parvo virus and charged me an additional $80 to test it on top of the 45$ examination. Came out negative, my dog was literally throwing up foam and pooping waiting for over 30 minutes just to be told that.
The staff didn't seem to care that he was throwing up or pooping, smh. You would assume they would prescribe medications or something at least to help ease my dog. NO WRONG. The doctor literally told me it could be gastritis, somewhere along those line. To top it off, he also wanted to double check and do an x ray on my dog to see if he ate a "staple" or a foreign object.
So at this point, HE WAS LITERALLY PLAYING THE GUESSING GAME and charging me for what I didn't even need. Told him we don't even have staples at my apt, and my bf and I literally keep small and sharp objects away from my dog. Common sense, hello! Why would I have small objects lying around when I know I have a small yorkie, it could possibly be a chocking hazard for him Smh.
He totally ignored me and had his assistant give me a paper with all the charges being made which totaled to almost $1,000. Called my bf and he said no right away. Told them I would wait it out for a few days, and I can tell the assistant was annoyed with me, but I didn't care. You would think they would prescribe medications to ease his stomach with all the liquid poop and vomiting NOOOO!
They had me pay, and totally left me hanging not knowing what to do. Bad ass service. I smell money hungry vets from this clinic. After getting all my dog's vaccinations shots, I am gonna start looking for a vet that ACTUSLLY cares for its clients and pets who are not just money hungry crooks. Smh.

Their new facility is beautiful and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They accept walk-in appointments. Be prepared to wait as many people arrive without an appointment. The doctors have to prioritize emergencies over less urgent needs. They also provide estimated costs before treatment.

This is my first yelp review ever but I felt other pet owners should know about this place. Please save your money. This place is a animal chop shop. Tests- labs tests -labs till you've spent a $1000 on first visit. Terrible communication with vet and staff. No return calls from vet or office after an almost $1000.00 visit. No apology from vet or staff about not returning our calls.
On our follow-up appointment to discuss tests and our options- the tech says what our you here for? Seriously? The one swede sounding (male) vet is the owner and didn't even acknowledge our displeasure when we spoke to him. No apology at all. When finally contacted by vet he wanted to do another $450 in more diagnostic tests. As other reviews have stated place was very dirty as well. Please don't patronize this place, you will be sorry if you do.

Wait time wasn't bad, staff is friendly. Listening to description of my dogs symptoms horrible. She looked at him, felt his lymph nodes said probably Cancer. I said he had trouble a week and half ago jumping on couch, didn't acknowledge it. Paid $500 for inconclusive test for cancer, paid another $500 for another test, result should be back in 7-10 days.
Specifically asked can it be anything else, their reply No, in all his lymph nodes. Cedar called with results today. He has valley fever, we can talk about treatment, curable. I said "no, he died yesterday." Don't guess on pets lives, ask questions. Sore joints? Swollen lymph nodes? Been to the desert? Yes? Valley fever NOT cancer. My pup did not need to die! I wasted $1000 on the vets first and easiest guess.

The hardest thing we ever had to do was put our dog down. She was our girl. Everyone at Cedar Vet were so kind & sympathetic. I wish now I would have gotten names, but from the doctor to the assistants, they walked us through the process & what to expect. It was the first time we've ever had to do this & despite the pain we were going through, we were and are so grateful to the Cedar Vet staff for your kindness & patience through it all & not rushing us. You allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our girl. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, Anthony & Michelle Estrada Parents of Marilyn

I took my cat and they could never find out what was wrong with him. The vet there don't care she just wanted money. Long story short all the medicine and ear drops didn't not work. I took him to a different clinic and they told me his nick got hurt but it was to late for treatment. This client could have saved my cat if they had more experience. Now I have to put my cat down

Our relationship with CVH started when our rescue tested positive for Parvo. We weren't able to afford the in hospital treatment, but after receiving great advice from Doctor Nick and the nurses on staff, we brought him home and he survived. Took him back for a follow up and found him a great forever family. We love this hospital! We bring all our current animals here as well.

This place deserves a 0 star rating. After calling multiple times and speaking to the receptionist it was nearly impossible to get an appointment for my soon to be 1 year old puppy. They said that because she is an "aggressive" breed - German Shepard Rottweiler mix, that they want to be more cautious about letting a doctor see her. What kind of animal hospital denies appointments based on type of breed? Super disrespectful, very rude staff and now I don feel comfortable letting them see my puppy because they're assuming she's "aggressive". Thanks for nothing.

I took my 7 year old cat here because he was loosing weight very fast. After sitting there for 7 hours he got prescribed medication that was meant for life. The total for all the test, x rays and medicine was over 600. After giving him the medication continuously as directed, he was getting progressively worse till he was just skin and bones. We decided to look into what the medication was for. and lets just say it was for something completely different then what my kitty had (aka they missed diagnosed him by the long run). Turns out he actually had F.I.V. but it was too late when we found that out.

That place is garbage. We paid for our labs puppy vaccinations there. They took him to the back. We get a call 3 days later saying the vet tech didn't give him the shot but yet they gave us the paperwork stating it was administered. We just moved to coarsegold at the time. So we had to drive all the way back. On top of this our puppy fractured his leg by jumping off the couch.
So because he was a puppy he had to have his splint changed every two weeks charged us 200 dollars at the time. That really wasn't anyone's fault it just happened. However him being a puppy they set him on the floor and he got parvo. Any vet tech should know if u have a puppy who is not fully vaccinated against parvo it's not a good idea to walk them on the floor on top of that he had a splint on his back leg and had him walk .
Where is the logic!? Then told us they could keep Him over night with a cost 1300 dollars on top of the 200 dollars splint changes. We got a second opinion. Took our dog to sunny side vet hospital and it cost us 300 dollars out the door for IVs and meds. We took him home and vet said if he makes it he makes it. Well sure enough he made it. I am firm when I say our puppy never went anywhere besides our yard and their vet clinic.
We made sure to carry him anywhere else. The vet techs placed him on the floor next thing u know a few days later he is throwing up and running a fever. They were not accountable at all. Just were quick to quote us more prices. I do not recommend at all.

I wish i could give this place 0 stars. it's dirty, the staff takes their sweet time getting to anyone remotely new, and the prices are absolutely ridiculous. i sat here for almost 4 hours for something that would ideally take anywhere from 30-45 minutes. my dog was suffering with severe parvo but was treated as a minor walk-in and not an emergency even after he almost vomited blood in the lobby twice. i would never recommend this place to ANYONE with pets.

I have a 3 month old Lab and Pitbull Mix puppy. He was severely sick when we went in with him and the Vets were already on it as soon as we walked in. We walked right up to the rectionist and she immediately got him back and they started to run tests to help us find out why he was so sick. We gave him all our info that we had on him and his sickness.
He came back negative for parvo and ended up with no parasites thankfully. But right away they started fluids. Yes i'm not gonna say it wasn't pricey but was it worth it to save my loving dog absolutely. They also were great at updating us on every step of the way with our puppy. We were never worried that he was alone or scared because we knew he was being taken care of and loved as if he was with us.
We received phone calls and text updates (it's up to your preference). They answered all of our questions and gave us an estimate on our pricing before even moving forward. They described in detail what everything on the hill would or could entail. Ultimately the estimate and the end total were only a few dollars difference i was amazed and after 3 days our puppy was home and his normal active self again.
I did have some payment issues but that didn't stop them. They helped me out and worked to accommodate me and what i had and were overall really sweet and made you feel like family. I highly recommend this place if your animal is in need they are absolutely amazing.

This place doesn't even deserve one star I took my 18-year-old cat in for upper respiratory infection bad sneezing attacks and mucus coming out of her nose upon examination she checked her lungs and her heart and fever everything was normal so we left with some antibiotics and an Annie inflammatory I'm not sure for what and it cost me $100 the antibiotics they shorted me 7 days which made me have to call them back and go down and pick it more up after 10 days the antibiotics were ineffective she was still sneezing really bad and I called to have them represcribe a different antibiotic which they said they would the first time if this was ineffective but upon my call they informed me that I have to come back in and bring her of course to charge me for another office visit at which time they told me that now I have to do blood tests and x-rays now I don't know what an x-ray is going to show for upper respiratory when her lungs and heart and everything is clear but she refused to give me another antibiotic unless I spent the money on X-rays and blood work this place is a total scam don't go there there a rip off and they don't know what they're doing so I'm $100 poor and I still have a sick cat I'm livid

My dog Archer was hospitalized 3 days. On the second day I asked to speak to the vet but he was too busy. I was told to make a conference appointment after Archer would be released from hospital. Archer was too sick to move so I was stuck with this place. My impression of the hospital is they warehouse the animals. When they leave at the end of the day no one is in the hospital to monitor the animals! What's more they were treating Archer for leptospirosis without any evidence he was infected with lepto.
On the third day they wanted to run more test xrays ultrasound, .one test for lepto presented me with an estimate and I still had not talked to the vet. Archer passed away a few days later at home from a bowel obstruction that should have been discovered on the first day. I will never take another animal to this vet again. I filed a complaint and may sue this place. All I can say is the negative reviews are spot on.

The girls are pleasant and helpful. The Doctor was very experienced with Newfoundlands. Stella weighed 71 lbs at 4 1/2 months. She made her feel comfortable and by the end the doctor was getting paw swats and face plants. The staff is pleasant and seems to really care about working there. They said "she's huge" and gave her pets when we got to the check out. 10 stars for these guys THANK YOU SO MUCH

No one was taking new patients. Regular vet had no appts for over a week. My old guy was in pain and not walking. They got him in the day after I called. Xrays. Labs. Meds. Were all within fair cost. I cant believe how busy they were for a Thursday! But, through it all the staff were amazing! U can tell they work hard and love their jobs and the fur babies. Only down fall was how long total visit took. I was there about 7 hours total. But, in their defense it was super busy! I may have found my babies new hospital?

This place has really went down alot. They take so long to answer the phone and when they do they are so rude to you. I feel like smacking the girl right in her mouth for speaking to me the way she dose. They call you and call you to bring in your pet but when you call to get them in they don't answer the phone and when they get around to you they are so rude.
There is 2 or 3 of the girls who I really like but the rest of them need to go to school and learn how to behave to the customers who are paying them their pay checks. Try anyone else before you go to them just so you won't be dissapointed like me. This is the place with the rudest people ever that work here. Do Not believe for one minute that they treat every pet like family and like they are their very own. NO TRUE. Donna Pollock

Our dog was not feeling well and in a lot of pain the night before. We couldn't find a vet that could take her in for an emergency and don't have the money to go to the vet hospital. We were able to get into the Cedar location and wait two hours (that was fine) when called in the waiting room was dark and dirty! Floors were dirty and paint was old and marked up.
I try to keep an open mind but when we were taken to the back where it said Surgery on the door this room was NOT clean by any means what so ever! Sticky filthy floors, the table had a filthy used mat from the previous animal that was in there with smeared poop and other debris on it! The table was where they do their surgery on and in between where the spillage/ catch pan was has not been cleaned in god knows how long!
Everything was beyond disgusting! The tech took my dogs temp but I saw him just wipe it off and put it back in the bucket without sanitizer! The doctor was nice but also used a flea comb on my dog (again not sterilized). the staff was nice as well. I just don't understand why is it so hard to clean a room and make sure everything is clean and sanitized mostly if you are going to do surgery! I've worked at vet hospitals and took classes.
You don't need any classes from looking and smelling the place to know you should leave if you are having any surgery done for your loved animal here. Sad nasty place that needs to have some respect for their clients and take some pride! Uggg! I wish I got more pics but we just wanted OUT FAST! They recommend X-rays and three different medications. We passed and left as fast as we could! Shame on the owner for not caring at all! Doesn't take much work or money at all to clean.

Cedar Vet Hospital was everything I needed in an emergency vet. When my Boston Terrier came in with a severe squint and ocular discharge I knew he needed to be seen. Of course being on vacation I was hours away from my own clinic. I was seen after waiting for a little over two hours. As a walk in, new client, non life threatening issue I was stoked!
The support staff is clearing working hard to make curbside service work as smoothly as possible. I was impressed to see CSRs and assistants keeping smiles and positive attitudes despite constantly ringing phones and incoming patients. Not to mention that it is hot as HECK! Despite that they chatted and showed compassion to the humans who needed it.
I had minimal contact with Dr. P, but was confident that my dog's exam was thorough and diagnosis accurate. She presented a treatment plan that was reasonable given what he needed and addressed his corneal ulcer. I was able to be scheduled for an impromptu recheck when I noticed additional swelling a few days later. I so appreciated having his reassessed to put my worried dog mom mind at ease!
I was pleasantly surprised at my total bill. There is no getting around that veterinary medicine is costly without insurance, but they are reasonably priced! Lastly I'll note the current facilities - as mentioned the building has seen some wear. Ultimately my priority in a veterinarian is the quality of care that my pet receives. I saw a safe facility with significant cosmetic wear filled with caring professional staff and pets that were being well cared for. Moot point - they are remodeling! Thank you THANK YOU Cedar Vet!

This is the worst vet I've ever been to. Unfortunately I had no other option and had to take my dog here. They were the only place with an appointment available. My appointment was at 9:40am around 10:30 they called me. Waited about 15 min for the vet tech to come in and check my dogs vitals etc then I waited another 15 min for the vet to come in.
He told me my dog needed X-rays so I agreed. The vet tech came in and said it should take about 30min-1 hour and they would call me when he's done. So I left at 11:20am went to target, put gas and came back. It was around 2pm and I got worried so I called and they told me he hasn't got his X-ray done yet there was still a COUPLE of dogs ahead of him then it's my dogs turn.
So annoying since the guy told me it wasn't going to be long. Anyways I decided to come home and it wasn't until 5:30pm they called and said he was ready. I go to pick him up and I ended up waiting in the lobby until 7pm! Why call and say he's ready? So annoying. We didn't get home until 7:45ish. The staff is so unorganized as well.
The receptionist called me over to pay for the bill and I was like "uhh so was his X-ray okay" & she was like "they haven't gone over that with you?" I was like no. so When they handed me my dog back I had questions but the girl seemed so rushed and just wanted me to go. So I was like screw it and left. Don't ever go here.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Please don't take your animals here. They don't properly diagnose. We took a dog their after being hot and after 6 hours of wait some very mild paid meds and the diagnosis was wrong. Took to 3 different vets where they all Agreed with same diagnosis. None of them matched the first one from here. Yet the bill was 1200. Save your pets and RUN

NOT RECOMMENDED! BAD SERVICE, JUST TRYING MAKING MONEY! Two weeks ago, My dog was diagnosed with severe glaucoma and recommended to look for special treatment from the specialist ophthalmologist. I called UC Davis to make a appointment but they need a referral for medical condition in order to have immediate treatment otherwise no appointment until April.
I called Cedar veterinary hospital to ask for a referral and was told " your dog's Dr is no longer work here, she left and your dog needs to be recheck with new Dr for new eye pressure check". My dog's been there twice 2 weeks ago with the first charge almost $500 and the second charge almost $300, now they said "no way for them using the record as the referral, need to be rechecked" (?) What's a LOVE from them for the animals or the love of MONEY!

My fur baby had gotten hurt playing with her friends and I took her to Cedar veterinary Hospital they were very friendly take very good care of my baby I didn’t understand what I was going through because it’s the first time I ever had to deal with anything like this she had to be sedated Then she had to have surgery on none other than New Year’s Day 2021 they kept me very informed calling me answering my questions when I text them and never getting upset with me they literally help me through a really rough time I didn’t know what I was going to do and this is a great place to take your pets your fur babies they understand they are very compassionate and yes I would recommend them to anyone I thank you from the bottom of my heart cedar veterinary hospital and Michelle and Dr. Nick you guys are awesome!!!!

1st vet tech + Dr were very nice and patient in explaining what was wrong with my newly fostered/adopted cat (hence why this isn't a 1 star rating). Then a second vet tech came in with their $600 plan to fix an ear infection. I said it was outside my budget and asked if I could just buy the antibiotics to which I was told "well maybe you shouldn't have adopted a pet if you can't afford it" I felt so guilty leaving without buying the medication. Took my cat to another vet (Alta Animal) and was given treatment plan for $90. So I guess just be prepared for cedar vet to add unnecessary stuff on your bill so they can juice your wallet.
