Dr. Leonard and his entire team of veterinary professionals welcome pets of all ages to receive the care they need to extend their healthy and happy life. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology, Dr. Leonard specializes in performing a variety of medical, surgical, and preventative services customized to your pets' individual needs.
In 1983, Dr. Stephen Leonard and his family moved to Elk Grove, CA with the goal of building a veterinary hospital where he could provide excellent veterinary care and exceptional customer service in his own thriving community. After graduating from The University of California, Davis, in 1977, and prior to settling in Elk Grove, CA, Dr. Leonard practiced veterinary medicine in a small animal clinic in Redding, CA. He also worked in a mixed animal hospital in Anderson, CA before establishing a mixed animal practice in Hayfork, CA.
At Grantline Veterinary Hospital, one of our primary goals is to treat our clients and their pets with respect while providing excellent and accessible veterinary care. If, for some reason, you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment time, please call us to reschedule. In order to treat your pet to the best of our ability, we need to learn as much as we can about them! We have been taking our puppy to Grantline since we brought him home in December of 2021. Dr. Leonard is very knowledgeable as is the assistants and the front office staff. They are always super prompt and it is pleasant rather than a negative experience for our puppy. Thank you Grantline Veterinary Hospital!

Great experience every time so far. What impressed me the most about Dr Leonard, is that he takes the extra time to explain things to me. I appreciate that a lot. Also, everybody from the front desk, to the technicians, to the dr, are very nice and made me feel they are part of my team. Most important, my dogs like them too.
