While a very simple practice in theory, knowing when to deworm, with what product and how often can become a very perplexing matter. It is important to emphasize that variations in individual animals and farm management play a major role in the parasite burdens that our horses experience. While this article addresses the general management practices of our clients it is important to consult with one of the Bayhill veterinarians for a more personalized approach to your deworming program.Signs of Parasitism, Internal Parasites of Greatest Concern, Anthelmintic (Deworming) Products and Deworming Recommendations.

My horses have gone through some medical issues. Dr. Browning, Dr. Peterson, and their support team are some of the very few people I trust with my beloved horses. They know my horses and genuinely seem to care about them and go the extra mile. Assessment, diagnostics, care, resolution, and follow-up are refined to what is really needed. My horses have their dream team.

We have a partnership. The doctors always allow for discussion on treatment, give options with their opinion, and are totally fair. The vet techs are knowledgable, kind caring horse people and provide first-class support service to the doctors. The office manager is lovely, efficient, savvy in horse language, and able to transmit important and timely messages to the doctors. Also, super kind and calming when having to chat to clients who are stressed with potentially sick animals.

When your vets love your horses and have a passion for science and the latest technologies, and are able to deal with passionate (haha!) owners, you know that you have done everything you can to give your horse the best medical attention you could ever find. As I say, I trust my horses' lives in the very capable hands of the amazing team over at Bayhill Equine. Thank you for everything that you do.

I had an appointment today with Dr Leah and Gracie. Gracie LISTENS on the phone to your "STORY" about your animal so that you feel HEARD. She takes care of details once the vet comes for the actual visit, like bringing pain meds that you can administer yourself, as needed. The Dr thinks in terms of diagnosis and treatment plan but also talks about "getting the maximum bang for your buck." Animal veterinary diagnosis and treatment can be Prohibitive and they are sensitive to that. Dr Leah was very careful to explain each step in her diagnostic protocol, making sure I understood and agreed before proceeding.

My animal was well-behaved with Dr Leah and Gracie. He is not ALWAYS so calm and cooperative! They are lovely and Horse-sensitive. I have never written an online review before but today was exceptional.

A fantastic team of veterinarians. They are all extremely knowledgeable and up to date on the latest treatments. I have mostly worked with Wayne, and he is always willing to go the extra mile to help you out. I've seen him come to the barn sick as a dog on his day off just to make sure a horse was receiving proper treatment. He has successfully treated a wide range of injuries and ailments in the barn I ride at, nursing each horse back to health with obvious care and passion for his craft. Wayne also has a facility where your rehab horse can board and receive top of the line care.

I have been using Bayhill for the past two years, and in 20 years of horse related activities, they are by far the best. They know me and my horse personally, even the front desk knows who my horse is before I finish my name (maybe that reflects more on the amount of times my guy has to go see them). Anyway, Wayne and the team have been able to "fix" an injury on my horse last year that was one of the most rare leg injuries they had seen.

He was able to start jumping again. This year after a bad accident they were able to nurse a DDFT injury enough to have him back in normal work. With the help of the Bayhill Staff and EquiSport Equine Therapy in Woodside, also operated by Wayne Browning, my horse was able to make as full a recovery as possible. He is still rehabbing, but is happy and ready to work.

I can always count on them for prompt responses to my questions and appointment requests. Extremely punctual and just all-around great horse people. Wayne even came to run some tests on my horse when he had the flu and was sick as a dog! I recommend them to everyone I know coming to the area or looking to make a switch. A++, you guys are awesome.

An excellent mobile equine veterinary service. As far as I can tell, they will service all the way up the northern peninsula. I've used them for an extremely critical situation where they performed an emergency tracheotomy on my horse and he pulled through great, and held my hand through the process of his recovery. They are great with keeping track of your routine vaccinations and have been excellent about answer all my questions and concerns. Lastly, it's wonderfully personal when I call up and say my name, and Tina, the office manager, immediately knows who I am.
