Rock Hill Animal Hospital is one of the oldest veterinary hospitals in South Carolina. It was established by Dr. Dixon in 1916 in an uptown stable. Except for a brief closure during WWI, the hospital has served clients in York and surrounding counties for more than 98 years. Dr. Rice McMaster took over in the 1950s and moved the hospital to the old Cherry Road location.
Petly is a secure personal health page for your pet that gives you direct access to your pet's health records on a 24/7 basis. All you have to do is have an active email address at our practice and your pet's records will be available at your fingertips. Need an account? All clients and patients are immediately signed up for one, as long as you provide us with an active email.

This is a nice place to go. The staff are friendly and helpful, the vets I have had experience with are great, and the price is not crazy expensive. The thing I will advise for you, the waiting room has nice cushions to sit on but the exam room chairs do not. Bring something soft to sit on if you have a prolonged visit else you may feel it later. Other than that, it is a pleasant experience. 4.5/5 from me.

I have been taking my dogs to this vet for a year now. I recently took one of my guinea pigs to this place. I have not been pleased one time that I've brought my animals in. The woman vet is constantly trying to get me to spend more money then I have. I wanted my dogs thyroid checked and she actually refused me. Now I am needing medical attention for my guinea pig and this place is less then helpful.
Some of the people at the front desk are super rude especially when it comes to payment. I will not be bringing my animals back here. Unless you have a thousand dollars to flush per visit I wouldn't recommend bringing your animals here at all and that's even if they can see your pet. I am willing to provide care for my animals but they literally try to just make stuff up.

This organization is superior. The front staff is always friendly and ready to help, never rushing you, listening to your concerns and make appointments that work for you. We have always seen us when any of our pets are in need. This is the reason we switched to them from our prior vet of 20 years. Our prior vet began refusing to see our pets when they were in immediate need of help and this happened over and over again.
The building is very clean and always smells nice. Conveniently located and easy to find. Exam rooms are clean and our dog is able to walk around (pace) freely until the vet comes. The waiting area has several sections so you can move around if needed. The cat area is totally separate so no Fido's can bug them! The vets are friendly and genuinely LISTEN when you explain the issues - and they act quickly and efficiently.
Always honest, never try to hide the real issues. Anytime your pet needs further testing they provide the referrals, and many times set up the appointments for you. We love this place and the people and hope to have them take care of our pets for a very long time.

Fantastic team and staff! You can tell they ALL love working with and caring for animals. The way my babies are treated by EVERYONE there says so much! Piper LOVES going to see Dr. Ferguson. I'll ask her, "Are you ready to go see Dr. Ferguson?!" in my high pitched annoying dog mom voice and she wags her tail and starts spinning in circles Paris feels right as home as well!
