Services
Equine Veterinary Services was established in 1984 by Stephen D. Fisch, DVM. In the beginning the business consisted of Dr. Steve Fisch, one technician and a mobile vet truck. Business was good and in 1986 Dr. Steve Fisch purchased land and built Animal Veterinary Services hospital. Because the new hospital offered services for both large and small animals, the name was changed to Animal Veterinary Services (AVS). Through strong leadership and client satisfaction, we were bursting at the seams by the late 1990's.
AVS Equine Hospital is a state-of-the-art medical & surgical facility on 35 acres of beautiful rolling hills with stately Live Oaks. Our 26,000 sq foot facility houses the following:. A large digital radiology suite equipped with both a 15ma & a 1000ma xray generator to handle xrays of the entire equine skeletal structure, including hips, chest, and spine.
AVS Equine Hospital is equipped with 2 state-of-the-art surgery suites that were designed with your horses safety and efficient, effective treatment in mind. Our hospital & doctors are equipped to handle general and emergency surgery for equine patients. We have two completely padded induction/recovery rooms to help your horse recover with a minimum of stress.
AVS Equine Hospital's Internal Medicine Facility is equipped with the most advanced equipment for providing fast accurate diagnosis and treatment. Our ICU and neonatal stalls are equipped to care for critically ill patients. The two neonatal stalls can be heated or cooled, as needed. Our ICU & neonatal stalls are roomy 18x20 and provide plenty of room for a mare and foal or long-term isolation cases.

Very nice facility. Excellent staff who addressed my concerns promptly and was very professional and thorough. Was recommended by a veterinary professional and its easy to see why. We had a big scary emergency and our current vet was unable to get to us. She referred us to AVS and we couldn't be more impressed with doctor Lacey and Kaylen. The facility is beautiful and accessible. The customer is stellar and the treatment was meticulous and kind. I'm so thankful for the quick action of Dr Lacey and Kaylen helping my baby feel better. I recommend them 100%.

I am an owner of a very old family pet horse named Cheyenne. Dr. Fische came to her rescue twice when we absolutely needed him. He made her comfortable and calm. My 29 year old mare split her face open in the late afternoon. Dr. Godman was at my barn within an hour and was very careful in cleaning her wound, which was 12 inches long. She did a fabulous job of stitching up her face and has kept up with her healing progress. She and her staff were very considerate in the handling of my precious mare!

We have used AVS for regular veterinary care as they came highly recommended by several friends. Dr. Godman has been amazing and helped our gelding with heaves. She has excellent bedside manner and is consistently patient and caring. This morning one of our horses was experiencing intestinal distress. As a less knowledgeable person, it was terrifying to see her laying down and not eating or drinking.
The office staff at AVS were wonderfully responsive and talked me through what to expect. Dr Fish arrived more quickly than expected and took excellent care of our mare. He exlained what he was doing and why. After administering the necessary treatment, he even made time to answer some additions questions. Hopefully we will not need urgent care visits in the future, but I feel much better knowing AVS is just a call away!

From routine appointments to surgery and everything in between, I will always recommend AVS. They are ALWAYS willing to come during an emergency! Great Staff! Amazing facility! Everyone is always happy and willing to go above and beyond to make things happen. I trust them fully when it comes to the care of my horses!
