The staff was knowledgeable, efficient and most importantly treated my dog, my wife, and myself with courteous and respectful service.

Very good visit. My dogs are coming in for a spay and tooth cleaning. Vet was lovely and even managed to cut my windhounds nails without her howling. Amazing.

They were so wonderful with my cat today! He's pretty timid, and saw a dog (which he's never really seen before) and it completely freaked him out. Needless to say, he wasn't quite himself once he went into the room. Everyone in there helping was fantastic as he was squirming and fighting everything that was being done. Thanks for being so patient and caring!

I have always had good, caring service from this office and staff. Just had an emergency with my youngest dog and they worked him in almost immediately despite being booked for the day. Thank you all for taking care of our family members.

Everyone genuinely cares about your pet. Dr. Kate Pierce has been a steady guide through the lives of two dogs. I feel well informed and supported in making decisions about my pups.

Very disgusting service. My elderly relative has brang her two dogs here for years. Always putting her dogs needs before her own needs. This veterinary office prescribed one of the dogs medication for breathing that this dog will have to be on for life. This dog has been on this medication for years already. This elderly relative ran out of medication for her dog and needed a new prescription, she called the office and they told her the only way they would be willing to renew the prescription is if the dog was brought in for a check up and could only get her an appointment for 4pm.

My elderly relative lives on an island where it is an hour and 15 minute ferry ride one way the last ferry running during the winter being 3:30pm. This relative has no vehicle and would have to get a taxi then be stuck on mainland for the night with no where to go during a pandemic. She is on a fixed income and would not be able to afford to pay for the vet visit, the medication, the ferry ride, a taxi, and a motel room to be able to get her beloved dog the medication she needs to be able to breath.

She explained this to the vets office and they belittled her and more or less told her she shouldn't have animals if she can't care for them. Like I said before this is not the case and she has always put her dogs needs before her own. This is terrible service and shows this office cares only about the money not the animals they are treating. Luckily another vet was called and notified about this incident and was utterly disgusted and called the dog in her needed medication along with 5 refills. Beware if you love and care about your animals consider bringing them elsewhere.

Doing well in this time of COVID. Visit was well choreographed. Communication as to when to pick up the pet was as appropriate. Each of the staff members I interacted with were caring and provided excellent information.

The staff was so considerate and kind. I had to bring my little beagle in last minute and they were very accommodating. Puppers is doing much better thanks to their care!

Dr. Kate Pierce is the best vet to go to for all things bunny. She has always given our 13-year-old bunny the kindest, gentlest, most expert care. Without her help, I doubt if he'd still be with us. We also take our Sheltie to her and get first-rate care.

Office staff lack empathy, as first time puppy owners with questions. We told them we had a special needs child and they said we probably shouldn't have gotten a puppy! Absolutely disgusted and at a loss of words. Unacceptable treatment. I did receive a call from one of the veterinarians and she apologized for the experience, its unfortunate that the office staff seems to lack basic people skills as other reviewers have expressed similar disappointment.

They're cat-oriented, kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. We have trusted our cats with them for years: Pippin, Windy, and now Fiona and Genevieve.

I live in Colorado but was staying in Camden for a month this fall. My dog must have cut his toe on something because all of a sudden it was inflamed and looked infected and obviously bothering him. Not being from the area I didn't know anyone and wasn't established with Penbay, but I saw their great reviews online and when I called they made time for us the same day and took great care of my dog, even following up a week later to make sure all was well. That kind of care is wonderful anytime, and much appreciated when you're not a local or regular client. Thank you.

I chose this veterinarian after researching multiple offices in the area based on all of the wonderful positive reviews online. Last week i was told that I could bring in my cat at 7:45 am even though the office opens at 8am as someone would be there. I arrived at 7:46 am, there were cars in the parking lot and people in the office. No one responded to my knocks at the front or side door.

At 8am more employees arrived and I was able to bring my cat in. The person at the desk asked if Nessie had eaten this morning, and that she was not supposed to have eaten after midnight. I let her know I was not told that when I called for the appointment. It would have been helpful to have instructions prior to drop off. I then had to wait as she printed out forms as the person did not have them ready.

At least the staff is all friendly and kind. I am disappointed by my experience today as I just barely made it to work on time. Also I had only asked for a spay the invoice I was presented with included over $600 total with extras, finances are tight, and as much as I love my animals this was not something I could afford. Please take into consideration that not everyone has the this type of money and maybe list services and prices online, and only present an invoice showing what your clients ask for. Sincerely, Jacquelyn Betts

We are newly transplanted to Camden and needed care for our 13 year old dog - not knowing any Vets in the area, we chose Pen Bay Vet initially due to the location and the reviews and I can say we made an excellent choice. Dr. Kate Pierce, her Vet Tech and the entire team of front office staff were consistently responsive and kind and truly cared about our dog and us during a month long struggle to manage his health situation. As a pet parent to dogs and cats for more than 30 years I've encountered a lot of animal care professionals and this group outshines them all.

Kindness, humor, knowledge and genuine compassion. When you are putting your trust in a veterinarian, these are all important qualities. Come see why I'm never disappointed whenever I come in to Pen Bay vets. They are truly the best at what they do!

We had a little beagle mix that I found a small lump in her throat. We took her to PenBay who were our vets at the time, and they did a biopsy and found cancer. We were told that the prognosis wasn't good and surgery in that location of her neck was extremely dangerous and unlikely to be successful. We opted to take her to a specialist group that had a surgeon and when they examined her they said it was found when the lump was so little that there would be no problem taking it out.

We had the surgery done, they got clean margins all around, our dog had chemo, and almost 4 years later she is still with us and going strong. We had 4 other dogs at the time and one developed a gagging cough, Dr Lee told us it was basically nothing. Our dog later started coughing blood so we got him in to be looked at. We were called later that day and told that our dog had advanced lung cancer and it would be best to let him go.

I didn't feel comfortable with that so we requested a referral to a the specialist in Portland (same one that saved our little cancer survivor). Our dog was doing better by the end of the day, so we brought him home and the next morning took him to the specialist. They re-examined him, did more x-rays and when everything was done we got the diagnosis... a bad case of bronchitis! We came close to putting our beloved dog down because of PenBay's incompetence. Right after this we switched vets. I would NEVER recommend this vet group.
