I was told great things about Anoka Equine so I called them out to do x-rays on our horse. When he got there, he said there is nothing wrong with our horse, he's dangerous and needs training. We knew his back was sore so after bucking and kicking my daughter in front of another vet, she came out, did x-rays and said he's got beginning signs of kissing spine. Had to pay her for the exam, x-rays and treatment. Dr also spent more talking to others and not focusing on our horse. Wasted time

Anoka Equine was absolutely amazing! Dr Kevin took the time to look carefully at my daughter's horse's injury that had happened about 6 months prior. He recommended an x-ray and an ultrasound. After he received the results, he was very detailed in his findings and explanations on what may be causing her pain. He explained in detail about the path that we should follow to try to correct and help heal the injury.

The techs that helped him were wonderful as well! We left Anoka Equine very pleased about knowing which road to take for my daughter's horse's recovery and possible athletic future! Thank you Anoka Equine!

Excellent full service equine care with surgery and breeding services. Usually a better price than the U of M. I have had no problems in more than a decade going there. To spite a comment on horrible dental service, for a difficult horse they have the skill and equipment to do a complicated float safely.

I've had the pleasure of working with Drs. Vollmer and Schwinghammer. Both were kind, honest, responsive and caring. They worked with me through a difficult period with my horse and billing was reasonable for the care offered. I'd happily work with either one of them again.

I've had nothing but difficulties with this veterinary clinic. I never get the same vet to care for my geriatric mare, even when specifically requested. This makes it difficult because for some reason they do not communicate with each other or read the records, because it always seems they have no idea of history or past visits/concerns which makes them redundant or contradictory rather than knowledgeable and progressing forward with her care.

It takes days to get them out to see one horse - of course I've been told several times I could transport a sore, arthritic mare into the clinic that's over 30 miles away. They're never on time for their appointment, and spend the least amount of time as possible assessing the horses condition. Having asked them out for respiratory distress, it took 3 days to get the earliest appointment and the vet spent less than 20 minutes with my horse.

They charge extra to have the vet administer an injection, so of course I chose to do it myself. They also don't like to refill the medication without another appointment so tack on extra farm call costs just to get the same answer again. Furthermore, they charge all sort of extras fees such as a "barn call" that was waived for boarders during a shot clinic because payment wasn't received same day.

Even though I called in advance and asked about a quote (for not knowing what her full bill for care would be), they explained they would not do more than what I paid for, even if she needed more care. How does that make any sense? Furthermore, with this COVID-19, boarders were asked to stay home while barn owners held horses for the clinic day. How would I be able to pay same day if the veterinarian hasn't submitted the full cost to the office before closing, and I wasn't present to pay in person?!

I was charged an extra $21 for a partial barn fee per their policy even though they cared for 25+ horses same day and waived the fee for same day payment. All I asked was they give my geriatric mare everything she needed, same day, and tell me the true and accurate cost of her care - rather than guessing at what the end cost may be and giving them a "blank check" per se.

I called in advance to pay, but they were unable to provide me an accurate quote since they hadn't seen her yet. Essentially, a shot clinic is useless for an aging geriatric horse, because they won't provide further care than the basics you paid for in advance. Which means they can charge you the full farm call fee to come back out at a later date to do the full care needed on an aging horse.

I would highly recommend Anoka Equine! They have been my primary Veterinarian clinic for over 20 years - a special thank you to Dr. Rick for a successful colic surgery, to Dr. Dave for showing compassion when I had to say goodbye to a beloved horse, and to Dr. JC for everything you do to keep a performance mare at her best! I am grateful to have Anoka Equine as my vet.

This is the best clinic hands down in Minnesota! After my regular vet didn't call me back after calling the emergency number I decided to call Anoka and they came out immediately. Dr. Loppnow and Dr. Snyder are really kind, compassionate and will answer questions and take their time to make sure you understand everything. This clinic saved my horse's life when he was very critically ill.

I was very impressed with the facility and staff, especially Dr. Monica Snyder. My horse needed a huge growth under his tail removed, and she did a phenomenal job. I was very confident leaving my horse in her care for a couple of days for observation. He has been home for a couple of weeks now and he is doing wonderfully. I would definitely recommend Anoka Equine!
