Services
Ambassador Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care for dogs and cats. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
Ambassador Animal Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination and wellness checks. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Emergency Care: Please call our main telephone number at (309)662-8535 for instructions for after-hour emergencies.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. For your convenience, "drop-off" appointments are available.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Ambassador Animal Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet.

Everything about this place is amazing. Dr Scott and staff were so helpful and kind during my visit with my cat recently. Very willing to listen to any concern and very knowledgeable about what may be going on. Angels in disguise as I feel my cat got better treatment than I do at my own doctor exams!

I had a prescription from a local vet for kidney care cat food. My vet did not have it in stock so I called around to find the food for my cat. I can order the food from Chewy but it will take a week to get. This office refused to sell me the cat food even though I had a prescription from a local vet. They have no interest in the well-being of animals.

Every other vet I called looked for the food and didn't have it in stock. This vet refused. Chewy does not ask to see my pet before I order food because I have a prescription. Shame on you.

Always treated (literally & figuratively) well. Our dogs have been patients there since 2001. Even this morning, we had mixed up our appointment time & showed up an hour late. They worked us in.

Love Dr Scott! I have one cat with with anxiety and another with allergies. She has been awesome with them. I don't even stress about the fact that I can't go in with them because of covid. Thanks Dr Scott!

I called them ahead of time to ask them what the price would be to see my dogs, and they quoted me a certain amount. When the bill came due the original price per dog was about $10 cheaper than quoted, but everything they did to the dogs were itemized/charged and came out to be $20 more per dog, than the quoted amount. Make sure you have them itemize what they will do and what they will charge before they see your dogs.

Ambassador Animal Hospital was very professional and diagnosed our cat's condition right away. Unfortunately, it was saddle thrombus so things didn't work out for her. AAH did everything right and was so sympathetic to us.

I had to give them 1 star to review them. My experience was with a young man no longer there. My dog broke his jaw and Dr. David gave him fluids, exray and charged me $300. I took my dog to a specialist that wired his jaw, gave him fluids and had several apts for follow up and the bill was less than here. In 1 month Dr. Scott misdiagnosed 2 dogs I know and they are now dead. I wouldn't trust them with a frog.

I have been with Ambassador Animal Hospital for over 24 years and would never dream of going anywhere else. I could write a 3 page review but really at the end of the day from Dr. Olson to each of the staff this place is like going to a 5 star hotel. The best of the best. Don't be mislead by the old paneling. that is not what makes a practice.its the entire staff. They have always exceeded our expectations and I consider each of them family. Thank you Ambassador Animal Hospital!
