I spent days looking for a vet for my ferret and they were the only ones that helped me and answered all my questions. I took my ferret in today and when I got her back she was so happy, she's just like how she was before she started showing symptoms for adrenal disease. Thank you so much I appreciate all the help!

The staff here has made the experience of going to "The Vet" absolutely wonderful. Everyone here truly cares about animals and wants the best for every critter that enters through their doors. They are well informed and suggest the best medicines. Very happy with their service and will continue returning here as long as I have an animal companion.

I have used Dr. Moore for my birds for 5 years now. I have a flock of 6 parrots. He's attentive and caring, the staff always calls the next day to make sure everything is ok. I used another vet last year and she's fantastic too, but not as personal as Dr. Moore is. He remembers us and our birds, recaps previous history and feels more like seeing an old friend than a vet.
I'll continue to maintain a relationship with both vets because in an emergency, it's nice to have a back up if one isn't available. I like that he has drop off appointments and I can drop them in the morning and pick them up in the evening with little interruption to my day. He works them in between his scheduled visits and this helps to get them in sooner vs. later.

Treated my girlfriend's chinchilla for many years with no problems. Extremely gentle with him. Cured his pneumonia this year. One star removed because they don't have their own ultrasound machine (they referred us to another vet to get an ultrasound done.the other vet squeezed our chinchilla till his bladder burst). Save up for your own equipment!

Where to even begin. I took my dying ferret into Dr. Moore's office after visiting the Pet Emergency Center. He was in such bad shape. On a Wednesday night, I went to feed him and he wouldn't move at all and his face was illustrating pure misery. Unfortunately, this occurred at night, so I had to take my little guy to the emergency vet. Rather than get x-rays and other work, I opted to just get him fluids since there wasn't an exotic vet on duty, so I knew there wasn't much for them to do during the night.
I figured I would wait and take him to Dr. Moore's office the next day. When adopting him, I heard that Dr. Moore was brilliant with ferrets. As soon as I woke up, I called Southlake Animal Hospital, and I was bummed out when the front desk clerk told me that Dr. Moore does not work on Thursdays. I felt really bad for Mayhem, because I knew Dr. Moore was the best when it came to helping out ferrets. Surprisingly, without knowing me or knowing exactly who Mayhem was (they only knew that I adopted him from Petco Grapevine which uses Dr. Moore for all of their veterinarian needs), Dr. Moore came in to take a look at Mayhem on his day off.
Who does that? That in itself is truly amazing, and I really appreciate Dr. Moore's kindness. It turned out my little guy had some severe issues, and I just didn't have the funds to afford surgery. Without going into too many details, I feel like Dr. Moore's intent and experience really made this terrible situation less harsh. Thank you, Dr. Moore. I truly appreciate all that you have done. Any animal that gets to see you as their vet is truly lucky.

I would never recommend going to this animal hospital. The hours posted read 7 am, but a doctor won't be there for several hours afterward. In addition, when googling emergency veterinary care and this location comes in 2nd (which normally means they pay to have their location in the top 3 searches) it should be clearly stated that they DO NOT OFFER EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE.
I have never in my life dealt with a veterinary clinic that has hours of operation without any vet on duty. This place is clearly a boarding facility with occasional visits by a licensed veterinarian.

I've hemmed and hawed over writing a review about Southlake Animal Hospital for 2.5 years. A friend recommended this place and Dr. D., who I think is no longer there, was GREAT! I had a Westie with a severe liver problem. She kept him in good health for a few more years. Then, when he was 14, he took a turn for the worse. He stopped eating, couldn't keep water down, and when his BMs were bloody, we knew it was time.
So we called and they did get us in that afternoon It was a Doctor I've never seen before, which was okay. AND THAT WAS IT! Never received a card or any sympathy from them ever. I was dumbfounded. We had been going there for years and we spent a lot of money. Lately, all of my friends' dogs are getting older and they are passing. They are telling about what thoughtful things their vets did when they lost their pet.
When I told my friends what Southlake Animal Hospital did for me they GASPED. Then I found out I was told the wrong vet to go to in the first place. My friend takes her dogs to Southlake "Crossing" on Davis/1709. Go figure. Maybe I was sent their because Dr. D. Gave me a special liver cleansing recipe that worked for my dog. It was her personal copy from somewhere and it worked.
I have shared it with my previous vets and they are so thankful for it. So, there is a silver lining to this story. The liver cleansing diet is being shared in the animal world. I would never recommend anyone going to this vet. In fact, a friend of mine just got a new puppy and I told her to stay away from them!

I recently adopted a dog from a rescue shelter, I wanted him to checked to make sure he was healthy. I called to schedule an appointment, the staff was very nice and was able to go the next day for a visit. From the moment we walked in everyone was extremely nice, we felt welcomed. We saw Dr. C and she was amazing. I'm a new mommy and had a lot of questions, she was very thorough and helped me feel at ease. Bottom line- I highly recommend this vet, staff, and the place was very clean. Dr. C and staff, thank you so much for seeing Preston!

Took my bare eyed cockatoo to see Dr. Moore for the first time today. I immediately liked him. He was very helpful and informative. He explained what I could do as a relatively new bird owner and I appreciated his tips. Mr. Bigglesworth is turning 2 on 3/25 and we are new to raising a bird. I felt everyone was very caring and they had a great team.
It was a. Bit of a wait but it was a Monday which is typically the busiest day of the week for vets. I plan on bringing my two dogs there as well. Very impressed and happy with the service!

Disorganized front desk staff! I've called in TWICE to make an appointment for my dying guinea pig and when I arrived they said I wasn't in the appointment. I made another appointment and showed up again. Same situation happened. "Hmm, you're not in the system. Come back next week when we're less busy" or ".yeah, we don't have anyone available for exotics right now", front desk gals would say.
Staff didn't even bother what was going on, or if there's anything they could do to help while I waited for the next available appointment. No apologies or even a smile when I walked in. Also, there's a $150 deposit before your appointment. How can my name not be on appointment book but my credit card has been charged? Luckily, I was able to walk into another exotic clinic to save my poor little girl.

Just took my bird, Sam, in for his first visit. This was my first time at Southlake animal hospital. Dr. Moore was absolutely fabulous. I'm a first-time bird owner and he really took his time with me letting me know what they were going to do on Sam's first visit and some wonderful suggestions for me to do at home to better care for Sam. Sam is a 15-year-old rescued Macaw, Who can be difficult to handle. Dr. Moore reached right down and picked Sam up without any hesitation. Sam responded really well to him and it went a lot better than I expected. We will be back. No lie. It was pricey though. Lol

We took our VERY sick bird to this place. The staff informed us that they were closing in 15 minutes and went back to check with the vet I presume. We were then told that they couldn't help us because they were closing soon. I can't believe that not one dr. could see fit to stay a bit late to help us. We were told to try a different after hours vet.
Our bird died shortly after arriving at the other place---which we were given wrong instructions on where it was located. It makes me sick that people who are supposed to care for animals were unwilling to take some time to help what was clearly a very sick animal. It was more important for them to get out of there. Disgusting.

Although we enjoyed the care we received from Dr Delaughter in the past, her staff now seems to have full charge of the office and can block us from talking to the doctor or discussing our dogs care. We have to make an appointment to get a refill of Revolution. Seriously. We recently refilled a prescription written by Dr. Delaughter on 1-800-PET-MEDS, but were notified shortly after the order was processed that the vet office had "declined to approve" our order - even though it was a refill of the prescription!
Since the order was placed during a 60% off, we will now have to pay FULL PRICE when we do order. What an unnecessary run-around. When I called the office to ask about it, they said they could not talk with me about the prescription, that I would have to make an appointment with the Doctor for both of the dogs. Why? It's a refill for pete's sake!
So now, you will cost me the 60% off the meds, and you want me to pay for doctor appointments for both my dogs? AND you left me on hold for a really long time. Nope, I'll take my business elsewhere. It's a shame, Dr. Delaughter, but I can't reach you to talk about it. Your office staff is in charge.

So. I don't like the fact that I had to sit out in the waiting room while my puppy had an exam. For one. I didn't get to talk to the doctor himself or herself. I've never even met any of the doctors there. I work in the health field and know parents or owners should be back there. You can miss information or something can happen and they do not tell you. 2nd- I don't trust the fact that I can't be back there.
What do you have to hide? The doctor might not even had examined my dog and I might be given wrong or diluted info through the tech. 3rd- PRIVACY! The tech talked to me in the waiting room. And I do not feel comfortable discussing my puppy's illness in front of other patients sitting 3 ft next to me listening to everything I say. Most importantly.
I want to talk to the veterinarian. Not the tech. No offense. But I've been given many false information by a tech and when the vet comes in, they tell me the opposite. I'm going to listen to the vet who went to school for 8-10 yrs. not the tech who maybe had a few classes one semester or none at all. (I'm not saying that the techs here are not smart. I'm just saying out of experience, I've noticed this at multiple vet offices. Techs giving wrong info that is not backed up by the doctor.) Plus this place is too expensive.
I know of MANY vet offices which are great and not this overpriced. I wonder if it's because this place is in Southlake. After two visits, I'm finding another place.

The service was good yet a little expensive. However, the tech that worked with us said our cat as still "intact" meaning he had not been neutered (although I had paid for that service 3 years prior). Taking her word, I went to have this "fixed". My cat was put under anesthesia but the vet could not find what this tech was referring too and said my cat was "clearly" neutered.
So I spent 30 minutes driving each was, paying for my cat to be put under and him going a whole day being drugged and peeing all over my furniture and bed because this tech did not know what she was talking about. I won't say that they cannot help your pet in an emergency but they are certainly capable of major misinformation.

Although the care at Southlake Animal Hospital is good, I am outraged that they charge $6.50 / animal to write a prescription for Heartguard! No other vet EVER has charged a fee to write a prescription especially after we paid almost $200 for an annual physical for each dog. I will be finding another vet immediately.

This is about as close to the perfect vet office as you can get, in my opinion. I take my pet rats here for all of their needs (check ups, spay/neuters, URI flares, surgery). The vets here are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to exotics/small animals. Dr. C and Dr. Moore are very caring and always take the time to do a thorough exam and answer all of my silly questions.
The office staff are also very friendly. I have never had a bad experience here. They have been able to squeeze me in when I had an emergency and spared me the $100 fee just to walk in the door of the emergency hospital. The only ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices are a bit high. But I will pay them because of the awesomeness of this place. I fully trust that my animals are in the best hands with them.

Not the cheapest vet in town but this is a place where if you need to see a Dr they can usually get you in. They can and will take all steps to ensure your pet will live as long as possible. If money is no object I believe your animal will be around much longer then the normal lifespan if you take them here. They have some of the most up to date technology available to take care of your pet. You will even get a smile as they take your credit card for the services you receive here.
