A national award-winning writer, photographer and graphic designer, animal lover Brad Cooper designed the Deco Dog logo in 1992 to represent the EPVMA. The art deco-inspired sideways "E" shape stands for "El Paso" while its sleek, curved, canine-esque lines serve as a universal animal symbol. The now famous Deco Dog (pictured at right in our sidebar) received the highest accolades possible when it was featured in the worldwide bible of the commercial graphics industry, 'Communication Arts Magazine.'
On behalf of the Awards Committee of the VMAE, I was very pleased to see that the El Pawso Proud was nominated for this prestigious award. Obviously, this program achieved its public outreach objectives and helped to advance the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association. Your leaders and members should be very proud of this program.
There are over 40 veterinary clinics (approximately 100 individual veterinarians) who serve the El Paso city and county proper. These are your experts in animal health and welfare who reach out to you with the latest and most progressive surgical, medical, dental, nutritional, and behavioral care options.
