Services
Acton Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local referral hospitals when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, and closely supervised hospitalization area.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Acton Veterinary Clinic stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Dr. Perks is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has enjoyed her role as a general practitioner, serving the needs of her canine & feline patients since 1999. She purchased Acton Veterinary Clinic in 2008 continues to serve Acton and the surrounding communities by offering preventive and wellness care, managing acute and chronic illnesses, dental care, and a wide variety of soft tissue surgeries.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off color or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every year as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Secondly, pets will actively mask signs of illness until late in the course of disease.

My little dog Bentley has been selling Dr. Perks for 11 years. Dr. Perks is very thorough and goes over everything with you, and she takes her time with you. In the 11 years that Bentley has been seeing her I have never had a bad experience with her or anyone that works for her. She is amazing and loving person and a great Veterinary Doctor. Thank you for everything you do. I wouldn't want Bentley to see anyone else. Thank you from the bottom of my heart With love and many thanks. Kimberly Pratt and Bentley

The staff is very knowledgeable and very easy and friendly to work with. I've been bringing my dog here since the beginning of the year and am very pleased. They work with your schedule and there has been a few times I've been a little late and everything is OK. This place is very good on reminders and you can tell they care.

After a lifetime of bringing my pets here is was informed today that I wasn't welcome to bring my dogs in for them to get fixed because I was asked why I didn't have my dogs get there shots at acton vet clinic, I answered that I go to a walk in place that is more affordable for the shots. I then get told I will receive a email for the price of. the services I was requesting to have done. but instead I got a email saying that I told Lynn the receptionist that I wasn't interested in any of their services because of the cost and I should just go to Kennebunk animal shelter. way to treat your customers. I never had any issues with the vets but the receptionist makes up whatever she wants to say apparently.

My pets have been seeing Jess for upwards of 10 years now when we had to put down our beloved Bones. not to brag but pretty sure he was one of their favorite patients ever! they could not have been more empathetic caring and loving. I have recommended many friends to the clinic all have been extremely happy I would never bring my pets to anybody but Jess Jack BJ and the crew. Thank you for all you've ever done for us we sincerely appreciate it. See you soon

Dr. Perks is one of the most caring, helpful and knowledgeable people I have ever known. Our family just went through one of the most difficult decisions we have ever made. Our beloved Spotty, our dalmation, just shy of 16 and a half years reached a point where his quality of life deteriorated rather quickly. Dr. Perks and her compassionate staff helped us by just being supportive, not only this day, but over the years by giving him the best of care.
If anybody could make this a peaceful loving goodbye to a beloved family member and best friend, they did. They even brought out a blanket while we spent time under the apple trees. It was so very peaceful for our Spotty who just slipped away in a deep sleep up to Heaven. As if they didn't do enough, when I went to pick up his ashes, Dr. Perks had made a clay imprint of Spotty's paw that we can later bake and have yet another wonderful memory.
She also shaved just a bit of black and white fur for us to have. I really can't say enough about who is the best in all of New England as far as not just a Vet Clinic, but a wonderful place to bring your most important treasure and member of your family. I really don't know how to repay the kindness shown to not only us, but most importantly, our beloved Spotty.
