There are many larger sport horse farms, as well as boarding stables and backyard family barns. The strong New York Thoroughbred Breeders program has encouraged the growth of many Thoroughbred breeding farms in our practice area.
The veterinarians of Rhinebeck Equine, LLP provide emergency services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide both ambulatory and hospital (surgery, internal medicine) emergency services to our clients, as well as offering referral hospital services to outside veterinarians and horse owners wishing to use our team for their horse's care.
Our surgical team is led by board-certified specialists who provide experience and expertise in a full range of elective and emergency procedures. We routinely perform emergency colic surgeries, arthroscopic surgery for joint injuries, upper airway procedures, and orthopedic surgery for fractures. Our surgeons are involved in the management of each case from the diagnostic stages, through surgery itself, and throughout the postoperative period.

Many thanks to Dr. Javsicas, Dr. Rosenbaum, and the entire staff at Rhinebeck Equine for taking such amazing care of my boy, Cruise Control (CC) this past weekend (both on the farm and while he was hospitalized. for treatment of gastric ulcers). Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I am grateful for your prompt service on a holiday weekend and for helping me, a neurotic, nervous horse mom, rein it in (pun intended). Additionally, I appreciate the compassion you demonstrated towards CC. I highly recommend your ambulatory service and hospital services as well. Thanks again for everything!

We are not from the area, but had Rhinebeck complete a PPE on an OTTB filly. We were not present at the exam due to travel, but all the staff were VERY helpful and informative. The vet did a great job of giving us the full picture of what he found, even when we were not there. Additionally, the office staff were prompt and responsive when booking the appointment and handling paperwork. They made everything very easy - worth every penny. We would 100% use this company in the future if we are in the area!

We had our vehicle parked in the parking lot and we opened the door. The door did not even touch the car next to ours. An employee of this business, Jennifer Getty Friedly, came out yelling and blaming us for a pre existing damage to her vehicle. She demanded to get paid for the damage at the stop. Very dishonest! Stay away from this place!

My horse sustained a deep laceration over a weekend and my local vet would not come out. They referred me to Rhinebeck even though I am on the west side of the Catskills and technically out of their service area. Dr. Dubeil was on call and was kind enough to give a phone consultation and look at photos. She texted with me for the next couple of days to help me manage wound care until the work week began and my local vet would come out. I wish I lived closer to Rhinebeck!

Back in the fall I shipped a horse into the hospital for a surgical plate to be placed. Arrived very early and was promised to be out by 4:30. The horse had to stay overnight. At this time I was displeased with there time management. Since this mishap one of my personal horses had to be shipped ASAP because of an infection in his knee and my primary vet thinking infection in the joint itself. Dr.
A and all of the staff at Rhinebeck Equine have proved my original feelings to be all wrong. This staff is just amazing. I was unable to be there durring admission. Dr. A immediately called me with findings. I was welcomed to come in the middle of the night to visit because of my own personal hectic schedule. Dr. A called everyday with updates and stayed in touch with my vet. Dr.
A allowed me to participate in flushing of incisions that were placed to drain all infected fluid, proper rewrapping, PT, and hand walking. We had planned on Dirty being discharged on the Monday after Easter. Well, snow was expected. Yet again Dr. A granted my request to pick up Dirty at 11pm Easter night for discharge. Amazing night staff was there to explain all discharge instructions and helped every step of the way to prepare Dirty to be shipped and loaded on the trailer.
This hospital deserves 10 stars. Thank you everyone who participated in participating in Dirtys recovery. UPDATE 7/24/2018 Wonderful vets. Office staff does not communicate with Each other. One states one thing and another does what they please. My second horse had an apt with the opthomologist. One month prior requested Ashly to request vets notes from prior opthomologist. 2 days before apt, called and left message to remind. Get to a 6pm apt and no notes. Can not recommend this group just on lack of communication itself.

We couldn't be happier that we discovered Rhinebeck Equine. Dr. Nutt removed a cancerous tumor on our 32 yr old horse, Magic, extending/saving his life. Every individual we met was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The care given to Magic was amazing. I will recommend this facility highly.

I've been there at 10am, 2pm, midnight, and 2am, with everything from simple to extreme issues and easy to extreme horses, and always know I will receive kind professionalism towards us. Several surgeries, some complex and some straightforward, have given quality time back to them, and guidance with aftercare kept us on track. Grateful they are here!
