At Middlebranch Veterinary, we've been providing high quality care to cats and dogs since our founding in 1993. To make room for expansion and growth, we moved to our "big yellow house" just six years later. Since then, we've been doing everything we can to ensure our patients remain happy, healthy, and comfortable. Get to know our talented team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and receptionists.
Founded in 1993 by Dr. LouAnn Pfeifer, Middlebranch Veterinary has undergone changes and improvements throughout the years in keeping with the many ongoing advancements in veterinary medicine. In 1999, she moved the practice from its original location in Brewster to its current location in the "big yellow house" in Carmel.
Our veterinarians offer preventive care, wellness exams and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Diagnostic imaging allows our veterinarians to look at your pet internally for clues about sickness or injury. Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health to prevent dental disease and tooth loss.
Let Middlebranch Veterinary provide professional care for your kitten, puppy, cat, or dog. A physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep your pet healthy. Wellness exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.

Dr O'Donnell and staff are so wonderful with my 3 furbabies. We have been going to them for over 7 years now and they are so attentive, patient and caring. Dr O'Donell helps diagnosis my Husky Emily with additions Disease after several months of bad tummy aches and not eating. I would never think about going anywhere else. Thanks for taking such great care of my girls. Love you Deborah, Sasha, Emily and Zoe.

If I can give a "zero" I would. Very Nasty Staff member made it a horrible experience for our first time appt. In return, we were not nasty back to her because we were stunned, and in shock for how nasty she was. We reported her to the staff member that was handling our case. She said this one particular staff member has been addressed about her attitude many times before and she will let her manager know.
We brushed it off and figured just forget about it because Dr. O'Donnell was very kind and knowledgeable about my dog's condition. So at least we thought she was kind. I tried to schedule another appt for my dog and was denied because Dr. O'Donnell wanted to speak to us first and noted this in my dog's file. My dog is sick and needs care and i was just pushed back in time as if I was in grade school.
When I inquired as to "why", the receptionist was becoming very defensive and became rude. She didn't know why, there was obviously an incident she said. I just said, send me my records and send them now, this is crazy. My dog has cancer and they are playing with his life. Why would the Dr. put a note in my file "do not schedule appt." until I speak with someone?
She can speak with us face to face when we come in for the appointment. I have never in my life dealt with the most petty women. They obviously do not care about the business or the pets that need care, after all this, so I believe it is best to move on. They should be so ashamed of themselves. My dog was doing very well at first with the care Dr. O'Donnell gave him but then went down hill. He has huge lumps that developed on his neck and was having issues of choking AND I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS CRAP.VERY SAD.

Dr Annette is our vet and I cannot thank her enough for all that she did for us. My puppy was very ill, we took him up to see her and the prognosis was very poor. She drove him (on her own time) down to Yonkers to have tests done, then brought him back to her office and waited for us to get from Tarrytown to Carmel to unfortunately put our dog down.
She was comforting and loving during the entire emotional rollercoaster we were on. The staff is so polite and lovely, just a wonderful place to take your pet. My wife and I do a 45 min drive just to let them care for our pets. Sure we could find closer. But none like the folks at Middlebranch

My sister mary recommended Middlebranch veterinary to me when we decided to get our little maggiemay yellow lab puppy. The staff are all very sweet and loving to all the pets I see come and go. Dr. Hoyle gets right down on the floor and gets right in there with my Maggie. The office is extremely sanitary. The staff all love what they do and it shows. They just take over and make your pet feel like they love them the best!

We have had our 2 boxers and both cats seen and treated here over the last 10 years. We have only had positive experiences with Dr Pfeifer and her team. They are fairly close on their end in keeping to your appointment time (very little waiting), of course everyone has a different experience according to their pets' injury and illnesses but my experience have been very positive.
