I would not go anywhere else, I've taken my pets here for 6 years now because they get the best treatment possible. My female dog recently had a hematoma on her ear and she was taken care of quickly and less invasivly which was best for her wellbeing. The staff is wonderful from the front desk to the doctors - all very caring and kind, my dogs are never afraid they love everyone here and so do their parents!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new vet for my dogs. My dachshund mix was having some pain issues and was referred to this vet by a friend. The process of making an appointment was very easy and I was able to get a same day appointment. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Dr. Matthews was very nice as well and answered all of my concerns and questions about my dog. I think my dogs are in good care here. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a new vet!

I was able to bring my old fella in for an exam on short notice a few months ago. He was diagnosed a couple of different times with a couple of different possibilities of illness. I believe the on duty vets do a good job with care. This is a network of veterinarians, so don't expect the same vet each time you come here. So.here's the beef for only 3 stars: Price for cares you ask?
Super duper expensive, and the prescription prices are as well. Why does it cost so much to bring your animal in? I can't even afford my own medicine and medical bills at times! Pet expenses aren't any different. Ridiculous! Not right!

On our first visit to this veterinarian for my dog's ear infection, we waited over an hour to see the veterinarian. I don't understand why businesses don't let you know when you check in that there will be an extended wait, so you're not wondering how long you'll be there. I went up and asked and she said, "a few more minutes".
I don't think she understands the definition of "few" because it was still a long wait. I learn while in the exam room that Wednesdays can be "really crazy". I don't know why, do they schedule more patients than usual that day? We returned two weeks later for a follow up visit and I was running late and we live 1/2 hour away. I called on the way saying we were running 10-15 minutes late as a courtesy rather than just showing up late.
They put me on hold and then came back and asked to reschedule later that day. I said I was almost there and we live 1/2 hour away so that wouldn't be possible. He put me on hold again and said the vet informed him she couldn't see us. I arrive and leave my dog in the car while I go inside and talk to the girl at the front desk asking if they would have just turned me away had I shown up and not called?
She said if you're more than 15 minutes late, they do. I was right at 15 minutes and actually sat in my car a couple minutes before entering talking with my fiance if I should even go in after what they told me on the phone but I was so annoyed I decided to go in. On the phone he didn't mention any 'late policy', but the girl at the desk was now stating this policy.
I then told her our first experience was waiting an hour to see the veterinarian, an HOUR. So my time is worthless but you can't get me in to follow up on my dog's ear infection due to being a few minutes late and even being polite enough to call ahead? That's a big fat I'll never go back to your place again. And yes, I did swear at her when I left bc she literally sat there with nothing to say to justify the stupidity of the situation. Edit after response from business: You're sorry about my "disappointment" as though there's some vague rationale for it?
How about addressing the double standard of your staff? How about ensuring you don't do this to other clients in the future? How about an apology for refusing service to my dog with an ear infection?

We have been using AHoD for several years now, and they have always taken great care of our 4 dogs. Recently, we said goodbye to our sweet Pandora. She was a rescue for us at just 15 months in 2010. She was reunited with her litter mate, Padrona. Pandora suffered from many ailments as she aged, losing mobility in her hind legs in 2019. My wife assisted Pandora with many things after this. Dr. Woodley and Dr. Matthew's were simply amazing in her care, especially this past year, and we can't thank them and the staff enough for all they did in Pandora's transition. All of our dogs are patients here, we are happy they take great care!

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and the spacious waiting area is perfect for big dogs! Dr. Edwards was patient, kind, and it was easy to tell he truly wanted our dog to feel better! His love for animals is apparent. He took the time to explain our options, multiple avenues to follow as well as an expected time period to solve her issues. Everyone, from reception to kennel greeted us, and even in the exam room, social distancing is possible! Highly recommend.

Used to love this vet but now it just seems like they are in it for the money. Every visit costs at least a few hundred bucks. Sent me home with the wrong amount of medicine (which i asked if it would be enough & they called to admit their mistake the next day) then had the nerve to charge me extra for their mistake on top of the inconvenience of having to go back to pick up the correct item. Will be finding a new vet.

Traditional veterinarians who also practice Chinese veterinarian Medicine Again it's super friendly staff and the doctors are wonderful. This is a new review as I was here on 12/7/21 my beautiful dog Ralph is very ill with the tumor it causes Ralph to have seizures the fantastic people and animal hospital of Dunedin told me to come in and pick up a refill of his medication to control seizures.did not charge me a fee or office visit so I must say this kindness says volumes about the staff of this business I highly recommend this caring and compassionate animal hospital to anyone who's in need of this care for their loved ones

This was our first visit and I had filled out the new patient form on line. Before the form is filled out on line, there is a post stating one must wear mask, will be placed in a room after sign in. When I arrived, I was wearing a mask as I prefer to, but no one else was. We waiting in the lobby for a good 15 minutes before getting into a room. One other patient was wearing a mask while in the waiting room.
I am disappointed on that one point. The girl at the reception said the info on the computer probably is out of date. I would have preferred to know up front that no one is wearing a mask there. Yes, it would have influenced my decision.

My girls (2 cats) and I are brand new clients. They have only seen my oldest who was just this week diagnosed with diabetes. The staff and Dr. Restrepo are absolutely amazing! I have called several times and even had them administer 2 of her insulin shots and they treated me like they sincerely care! That goes a long way! My girl is back to her old self now that she's feeling better! I would definitely recommend this vet to anyone! They truly care about you and your fur babies :)

I've been looking for a vet for my new Great Dane puppy and after one horrible experience in Westchase I was referred by a friend to AHD. You might be thinking how hard is it to find a vet. Well, when you have a giant breed and you do things a little different - I follow Dr. Jean Dodd fax protocol it can be challenging. There are a lot of opinions out there, but at the end of the day the decisions you make for your animal are yours and the vet I saw was candid with his opinion, but respectful of my decisions - I appreciate that!
The reception area was clean and large enough to keep people and animals apart and the staff was really friendly and appeared to genuinely love what they are doing. I think I've finally found my vet!

I am so pleased with this vet! I brought our dog in as he had been having some issues - they got us in SAME DAY! Appointment was on time - vet gave us LOTS of information about what we could do to help our little guy. Then they called to check on him the next day. (He's doing much better due to the care he received.) That same day the vet called to answer my question on his medication. Phenomenal service! Top notch care. Happy pooch! Could not be happier!

The team here is top notch. Our family dog is just that family. We want our dogs health & well-being to be taken as serious as our kids. We are newer to this clinic and couldn't be more thrilled. Our dogs always excited to see everyone and they are always happy to see him. Their balance between Western & Traditional Chinese Medicine has really helped our dog with a torn ligament.
Their curbside (Covid) procedures work well and they still stay very informative & personable. Thank you Dr. Olson & everyone that works at Animal Hospital of Dunedin for taking such great care of our fur baby!

My 12 1/2 year old dog was experiencing some strange things that cause her to act very unusual. The doctor at Animal Hospital took the time to thoroughly examine and watch videos of my dog so she could correctly diagnose what was happening. My dog is doing very well now! The receptionist was very helpful and asked the right questions. I felt the doctor was really trying to help me and very helpful. I would highly recommend them! I'm new to the area and loved the experience.

I was in town visiting my family. I brought my 11 week old puppy and had to get her 2nd round of vaccinations while here. From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed the experience I had at AHOFD. The receptionist was very polite, helpful and lovely. He efficiently got the information from me and answered all the questions I had. On the day of the appointment, the nurses were very nice and pleasant. Dr. B saw my puppy.
He was awesome. Very nice, professional and a joy to talk to! It only took about 15 minutes from start to finish. And the whole visit was only $1! I would highly recommend them and would come back if I'm in town again!

DO NOT COME HERE! This company has incompetent Vet. "Technician" staff, and a Vet, Dr Shaw. Dr Shaw was asking bunch of questions about me and my dog. One-of-them was about "What about peeing? I asked her if 8-9 hours without going out is bad on the liver. Her response was. "Well, I don't know." A supposedly Veterinarian doesn't know if that's bad or not?!
In additional, I called 3x's each time. Each time I called, I had to put on hold & waited 10-15 minutes. This same person was rude and said "I'm a call center" when I was calling the actual business during their hrs. Of operation.

Well I have to say everything went very well with Meep. They were on time with appointment and for the first time someone new what they were doing. I had to spend some money to have Meep checked out. The doctors were very detail about what they were going to do. And also explain in detail and what it would cost. I highly recommend Animal Hospital very kind and good sense of humor. This was my first visit.

Dr Todd came highly recommended 8 years ago and has lived up to his billing! He's seen us through the loss of our Max and the addition of our adoptee Lena. The entire staff has been so patient with her since she's very nervous and shy at the vet's office. They get down on the floor with her and have been very patient with our millions of questions about her joints, etc.
We also see Dr Woodley who oozes "I love animals!" which is what you want with your pet. Every visit is followed up with a call to check up (don't get that from my primary) and the docs will call back/email if needed. We drive by many other options (Seminole to Dunedin) but love the combination of eastern medicine with western medicine.

The entire front office staff & techs are so friendly! They are always on top of things & Extremely efficient! I'm so glad I found this clinic after moving here from Seattle. My dog Sadie needed extra special care due to multiple illnesses & so we visited weekly for Acupuncture & physical therapy with Dr. Olson. She is absolutely, by far the BEST VET I've EVER had! Sadly, we found out my sweet Sadie had a large tumor on her spleen suspected cancer. Dr. Olson was just superbly amazing & supported me emotionally throughout this challenging time of determining the quality of life for my dog.
She went above & beyond to help Ease Sadie's pain. She was compassionate, honest & i could tell she truly cared about us. Sadie & I always looked forward to our weekly appointments. When the time came to free Sadie from all her pain & let her go to heaven, the love & support i received from Dr. Olson & the entire staff will forever be appreciated.
Although i would like to keep Dr. Olson all to myself for the care of my cat Curley, I trust that she will be a tremendous asset to other pets & their parents! So I highly recommend this clinic. Thank you Animal Hospital of Dunedin for everything you have done for us!

We took our fifteen year old Corgie here because she wouldn't eat. We met with four different vets over a period of ten days at Animal Hospital of Dunedin. Dr. Todd recommended that we have Maria's spleen removed. Keep in mind this is a fifteen year old dog. We went to another vet who did a urinalysis and determined that Maria had a urinary tract infection.
The vet gave us antibiotics and one year later Maria is healthy. From a financial perspective, we spent a total of $1200 with Dunedin Animal Hospital and about $80 at the second vet. Our experience here wasn't good. We wouldn't recommend going to this vet and are very grateful that we went somewhere else.

Dog Killers! We are new to the area. This vet was recommended to us. Our dog was hacking and we wanted to know why. Took her in on a Saturday, medicine was prescribed. Took her back on Wednesday after noon, different medicine was prescribed. Saw two different vets. Both said our dog's heart and lungs sounded fine. Less than four hours after our 2nd visit our dog DIED of congestive heart failure. She was only 8 years old. Really? They couldn't tell something was wrong? Can you sue a vet for malpractice?

At the Animal Hospital of Dunedin, be prepared for that extra special care for your pet. There are certainly a lot of options for treatment. My pet gets Acupuncture, but now that means I cannot afford it for myself. Additionally Dr. Todd slipped in some extra testing for my pet because I love him so much, but it was done without my prior authorization. Oh well, just a few hundred extra dollars. You need deep pockets.

Dr. Todd is knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate, caring, and trustworthy. Under his care, my pets have the best possible quality of life and benefit from both contemporary and alternative medicines. I tried almost 10 different vets before finding Dr. Todd, so I know it's not easy to find a vet that can be trusted, and I trust Dr. Todd without hesitation. My pets are my world and I want to give them the best of everything, especially veterinary care. Dr. Todd is the best!
