Heard my cat hissing; so I opened the back door worried that something happened, just to see the vet lady throw my cat in her cage. She claimed she didn't throw her and that she but her. To see that my cat is almost 20 years old, she is fragile and the woman said she tried to get blood through her leg. She claimed also that my cat bit her, but there were no bite marks. Plus, my cat is very loving being her age. Never going for a long time

I just left the Wharton Veterinary Clinic where my young Chihuahua was mistreated by their tech named Amber! My Chihuahua went in to get a 6 month heartworm prevention shot, her flea medication, and to get her nails trimmed. Amber came into the examination room and stated she would be taking Lucy to the back to get her shot and nails trimmed. I was. sitting in the room when I heard Lucy crying, and letting out a scream like she was being tortured!
I walked out of the room to the front desk and asked what was going on. I had never heard my dog scream in pain like that, I knew it was Lucy because she was the only dog there. The lady at the front desk went to the back to check on her and I.

We were referred to Wharton Vet by our previous vet when our Beloved Rat Terrier, Arianna, was diagnosed with pyometra (she was also diabetic.). Unfortunately, while she made it thru surgery, she took a bad turn 2 days later and her numbers were off the charts. She fought so hard to stay with us, but we couldn't be selfish and had to think only 9f her.
The entire staff at Wharton Veterinary went out of their way to make this transition as painless and loving as it could be. We will always recommend Wharton Veterinary Clinic for their heroic efforts and their compassion.

I had an episode of one-leg lameness in my Arabian mare today. The mare was diagnosed with acute laminitis two months ago and had been making excellent progress in recovery. Dr. Davang was able to do a farm call this afternoon, and she diagnosed the lameness as due to laminitis. That quick response and diagnosis caused me to change the mare's turnout routine and diet. No doubt these changes will get her back on the path to full recovery.

We had an after hours traumatic emergency that resulted in us having to euthanize one of my dogs. I was heartbroken and at a complete loss. The doctor was extremely compassionate and took his time explaining the process and allowing us ample time to mentally prepare. He was so gentle with her and loving. He made a horribly difficult situation a little better. I highly recommend this clinic.

There is not an option for zero stars first off. I took a rabbit we found on the side of the road that was dying to this clinic. The vet called me and told me it was dying which I knew. She asked my permission to put it down and I explained it was a rabbit I found and I consented as it was suffering. I got a bill in the mail for almost $300.00. I would have been happy to pay a euthanasia fee but an exam on a dying rabbit with a fading heartbeat and I already knew it was dying?!
So ok I understand I have to pay this bill, due to COVID I was barely back at work. I called the office and explained I was struggling to pay my bills and would gladly pay them back the full amount if I could please make payments around when I got paid. I was shut down immediately and told no it would have to be paid in full. They slapped with me finance charges on the unpaid balance even though I paid them each month. My advise. Do not use them! I was trying to do the right thing for a rabbit I found and these folks gained almost $300.00 to stop its suffering.

Does not take proper precautions to clean and sanitize the office which lead to multiple cases of parvo. After boarding, dogs tested positive for parvo when they previously went in without any problems. Then they charged close to $1,000 for treatment for a problem that they caused. This place just wants your money.

Our very beloved miniature pig Buckingham, needed his first vet intervention at 4 years old! He started limping. Dr. Bolton safely sedated him, x-rayed his leg with a portable, found no fracture or hoof. compromise. Dx with a soft tissue trauma/infection. Antibiotic shot, some topical treatment and oral pain meds and we were on our way. The staff were pleasant and helpful! Thank you to every there! Great to also run into Dr. Davang!

Dr. Pohler is the best vet ever. I can't express how grateful we are for him, we have used him for the past 10 years. We rescued our first dog who tested heart worm positive and Dr. Pohler saved him. I've had to call him for emergency visits, and have never had a problem. he has always been so helpful with advise and suggestions. Most of his staff is very friendly I personally enjoy working with Shannon or Bianca. The only thing that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars is depending on who I talk to my medication does not get mailed out when it's suppose to.

Lucy Pustejovsky is a danger to your pets. Please protect your beloveds from her and find another veterinarian. When Pustejovsky was at Bastrop Veterinary Hospital, she was responsible for the death of my horse. She put my beautiful horse, Harvey, who was 4.0 lame with a joint infection, which she knew but never told me, in a furacin-DMSO sweat wrap and told me to move him around!
She did not give him any antibiotics at all. She never took a joint tap or an ultrasound. She delayed proper care for Harvey until he could not be saved. He spent months suffering at A&M while they tried to save his life from the damage Pustejovsky caused. Please, find another veterinarian. My horse Harvey did not deserve to die, and I did not deserve to have my pet tortured by a veterinarian so ignorant she decided she was part of our judiciary system.
Research her name and Harvey's and decide for yourself if you can trust her with your pet. Then please, please, find another veterinarian. Save your pet the agony my horse went through because of this vile woman who has no business holding a veterinary license.

My Kitten Lucas was taken to this vet clinic by the Wharton county police department after an arrest that occurred due to an unfortunate series of events that were not only unforeseen, but apparently unavoidable considering the police promised to let my husband and I go on our way as long as we cooperated. We did only as asked by the officers. Anyways, after getting out a few days later by the grace of God, finding and paying for our car which had been impounded, and of course becoming completely broke after that, we went to locate poor little Lucas, who didn't deserve any of this, no matter who's fault!
I was denied my kitten without payment, that I didn't and still don't have. They told me that I had to either pay or they would euthanize 2 month old Lucas! They are charging $30 per day and refusing to even adopt him out. He is a sweet and loving kitten who doesn't deserve to be discarded because the police lied! They instructed me to sit in the vehicle with my kitten while they checked id's, but instead of releasing us, they took us to jail, and after booking us, they were laughing about the "cat situation" and arguing over who was going to deal with it because neither of the liked cats at all!
My heart is broken and I am outraged! I want my kitten back, but id someone else can afford to get him out and can take batter care of him, he deserves a loving home, not a death sentence in the beginning of his life, for being an innocent kitten in the wrong place at the wrong time!

We have used WVC for both large animal (cattle) and small animal (dogs and cats) care for many years. Dr. Pohler is the most caring veterinarian I have ever encountered, but considering he's an animal lover himself, that should be no surprise. We have 2 English bulldogs who require frequent visits for their breed-specific problems, and WVC gives us conservative and practical advice.
One of our dogs had a serious injury that another vet clinic said would require a very expensive surgery and a long recovery time. Dr. Pohler suggested a more conservative approach that saved our dogs life and did not require surgery. The entire staff is cheerful and professional. Our vet clinic for life, we feel so lucky to have a world class clinic so close to home. Thanks WVC!

When you ask to pay the whole bill, that means the whole bill anywhere else. Not here. MIL continued to receive bills for an account she was told when leaving had been paid in full. Finally got a phone call about it, and they claimed to have forgotten to charge her for something. Will not use them again.

Horrible customer service. They squeeze every dine out of you. They told me one price for our dogs nutering and then it was almost two hundred dollars more. Also, we have our dog on flea medicine and I called for a. Refil and they said no problem come pick it up. But then when I found it online for cheaper they denied the prescription because I wasn't buying it from them. That is not how ypu treat your loyal customers. We will be bringing our herd to Alamont from now on

I have taken my two cats to be neutered. The facility is clean and the receptionists were pleasant. I chose this veterinary clinic due to the lower costs for neuter/spaying services. It is affordable. My cats were well taken care of, and they will give you a courtesy call to give you a report of how he/she is doing. I would recommended anybody in the Wharton area to go here for your pet's veterinary needs.
