Our services range from the on-going care and preventative medicine of basic wellness to the specialized needs of 24-hour emergency services. Our fully-equipped hospital offers special on-site facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, in addition to in-clinic products for diet, dental, ear, eye, and coat care. Wellness means achieving and maintaining the overall good health of your pet through ongoing care, preventative medicine and special treatment techniques. Annual exams and dental care allow for early detection of potential health risks. Vaccinations and parasite control protect against diseases, discomfort and other health hazards.
We utilize state-of-the-art equipment in our in-house laboratory, where we can perform both common and emergency labwork. We are fully equipped for a wide range of imaging diagnostics with up-to-date technology in digital X-ray, MRI, CT scan and ultrasound. We utilize state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to identify underlying health issues in order to keep our animal companions healthy and happy.

Go anywhere else. they solely care about $, not about the animal. It's so sad. As if the world is not ugly enough- they informed me my kitten would "die" or I needed to get xrays for $1000's of dollars. I declined, took my kitty elsewhere, and he was eating within seconds and the other vet office DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE of me. Go elsewhere. If you LOVE YOUR ANIMAL. If you don't, go here.

As I was saying my last goodbye to my sick cat of 15 years, a person came in and started to talk about the cost of putting her down and how much my bill was. Thanks. I kindly, very kindly asked her if we could discuss that later. I do think that there is no doubt they are educated doctors and nurses but their social behavior to me seems very cold and heartless.

The doctors at Atascadero Pet Hospital are by far the best in the county. They are professional, and great communicators. They never disappoint. However the office is in disarray. It it always such a long wait to just pick up and pay for their services. Some of the girls seem grumpy like they don't like their job, others are great. It is hard to believe at this point, the same measures as 2 plus years ago when Covid was new and not understood that they refuse to open their lobby and.are everyone has wait in their vehicle. They have charged me with other people's bill, and brought my dog to wrong vehicle. But it is worth all that to have great doctors looking after your pets.

I've brought 2 of my life/lover family dogs here to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. I honor & appreciate the compassionate caring of all the staff, so amazing n really helped us with their caring support. Their compassion n patience with the process was so uplifting. I was driving home from nor-cal and my dog Noni became very I'll. Noni hadn't eaten for 48hrs and couldn't even keep water down. I called at least a dozen 24hr emergency vets from Salinas to San Luis Obispo. Atascadero pet hospital didn't hesitate to take my dog in. They set up an account rite then over the phone. When we finally arrived the staff was professional, quick, &friendly.
Long story short they saved my dog's life. The staff diagnosed her quickly thru blood and urine tests etc. My dog's kidneys were failing from dehydration. The next 48 hours they kept Noni on a IV drip. Basically brought life back to Noni thanks to the great staff. They were reasonably priced and kept us updated at all times. I can't say how thankful I truly am for the Atascadero pet hospital.

Dr. Burke was wonderful and caring for our four year old Labradoodle, Lucy. Dr. Burke was so knowledgeable about our dogs illness, possible causes, treatments, and things we could do for our pet. She spent a lot of time on the phone with us explaining the procedures with follow up calls about her progress and tests results. That is what we all need and want when the pets we love are sick.
We have tried most of the vets in SLO county and The Atascadero Pet Hospital is the best. The staff is very professional, and caring. They are available weekends, when often pets need help. I highly recommend them and their staff. Thank you Dr. Burke! Holly and Bob Smirl
