Dr. Libby Hays is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (BA Psychology, BBA Marketing), the University of North Texas (MA Organizational Psychology) and Texas A&M University (DVM Veterinary Medicine). She is a member of the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) and has earned the prestigious AHPC certification.
When our beloved terrier Abby suddenly became seriously ill, we were confronted with a dilemma. She is a previously abused rescue dog that is terrified of visits to the vet. In fact, the last time she saw the vet for a routine exam she jumped off the exam table very nearly causing a severe injury. Since Dr. Libby had made house calls to care for the cats of two of our friends, we decided to save Abby from a frightening office visit and called her.Although the weather was bad, Dr. Libby arrived at our home very quickly and offered high quality care in a manner that allowed Abby to remain calm and comforted.
At Mobile Cat & Dog Vet, we offer animal hospice and palliative care services for pets with life limiting or incurable diseases. The goal of hospice and palliative care is to maintain a pain-free, good quality of life for as long as possible. Care focused on providing pain control and physical comfort to the pet, as well as educational support and emotional comfort for caregivers. A team approach to providing assistance in promoting quality of life for the pet that includes palliation of pain and preparation for death.
As our pets age it often becomes more difficult or impossible to transport them. A personalized plan will be formulated for you and your pet so that your friend can live a comfortable, happy life. In-home geriatric care helps you help your mature friends live a full life. Dr. Hays will take the time to thoroughly assess your pet's comfort level and develop a plan to maintain good health.

I got some bad news that I had to put my little guy down. I didnt want to do it at the vets office, so friend & family found me Dr.libby. I was an emotional wreck, but being able to say goodbye at home brought me what comfort I could find in this situation. she was kind and patient. She took my little guy to Herizon crematory for me. I received a condolence card from her as well. I highly recommend Dr. Libby.

It was by far the most difficult time for my family and I, to put our dog down. Dr Hays was so sweet and gentle and allowed us time with him. She made the process a little easier on us. Highly recommend for animal needs.

Having to say goodbye to your fur baby is so traumatic and devastating. Dr. Hays was so quick to respond and her demeanor was so calm and sweet. She is authentic is her empathy in what you are going through and we can't thank her enough for making the process quick and peaceful. I had never done an in home euthanasia before but it worth every penny to not have to put your pet through the stress of going to an office. Thank you so much Dr. Hays:

Dr. Hays helped us say goodbye to our old boy in the comfort of our own home. It was time and we were able to schedule the appointment on a Friday afternoon. We chose to transport our boy to the crematorium but she also offered that as part of the service. I wanted as much time with him as possible. The whole process was calm, quiet and quick. Our other pups were allowed to be in the room with no issue. Thank you for making his final vet appointment as easy as possible.

When our cats quality of life was deteriorating quickly and our vet could not see him for a few days Dr Hays was there the same day to help ease his suffering. She was kind and professional in an incredibly devastating situation and we're grateful we got to say goodbye in the comfort of our own home. No one prepares you for these moments, thank you Dr Hays for being there for us.

Dr. Hays not only returned a call promptly, she also managed to get us on her schedule within hours to help transition our dying dog in the most professional, courteous, and compassionate manner possible. She also cane extremely prepared which helped make everything go smoothly and as non traumatic as possible. As a previous vet tech and being on the side countless times, I can say that the option to euthanize at home where the pet experiences no undue stress is an unbelievable difference for most importantly the pet and is people. It was a very calm experience.

We knew the time would come soon for our beloved Aussie. He was fighting cancer and it was just a matter of time. What we didn't expect was his quick decline and we had procrastinated finding a veterinarian that would make house calls. We lucked out with Dr. Libby. She was so understanding and helpful. She came a couple hours after we called and confirmed our suspicions.

Our family was able to surround him with love and pets as we said goodbye in the comfort of our home. We chose to have him individually cremated. She took his body and delivered it to Horizon Pet Cremation. Then within a week she brought him back in a beautiful wooden box. The next day we also received a thoughtful card in the mail from Dr. Libby. I know we'll use her in the future for routine vet checks for our other pets. If you're looking for a veterinarian don't hesitate.
