Services
Radnor Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1981 in an old Victorian house in the heart of Wayne. Back then, one doctor provided care and boarding for just dogs and cats. In 2001, Dr. Len Donato became the owner and began seeing rabbits, birds, rodents, reptiles and other exotic pets. Since then, our hospital has provided veterinary care to many different types of exotic pets and wildlife. In October of 2011, we moved our hospital to a much larger more modern facility across the street from our old house.
Marianne greatly enjoys managing the practice, getting to work with all of our wonderful staff, and of course, watching our team take great care of your pets! Marianne has a background in Information Technology, Client Operations, and Project Management. She completed her MBA through Capella University and earned the Certified Veterinary Hospital Manager certification from the Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association.

For years I was going to this vet talking it up mistakenlyโ€ฆ for years we paid hundreds and thousands for treatment of 10+ animals in full never once we didnโ€™t pay for every single treatment in full, surgeryโ€™s over 1k paid in full. After putting a 100$ deposit down for a bunny that got bit, 200 more was owed and we were told our pet would be held each day we canโ€™t pay in full and it would be 35$ added each day.

Also itโ€™ll regularly be an hour after your scheduled appointment time before a doctor even comes in. Drs are very good but the management and policyโ€™s are rude to one of their top paying clients..

The vet personally with results from fecal test, talked me through medications and pills were even divided in half! During initial exam both the vet and PA were very patient with me, discussed and made suggestions more than I expected which was wonderful and no charge to clip nails since we were there for an appointment. After dealing with a veterinary center that was test pushy and costly on the standard services this was a very welcomed experience.

My experience was fantastic. Dr. Ehrlich was very helpful and very eager to answer any questions I had in the best possible way to care for my bunny Harvey. Harvey is a little temperamental at times, but he loved her. It is very comforting for my girlfriend and I that we can take our little bun in and he will be well taken care of. :

I've never written a review for anywhere before, but I had to give Radnor 5 stars. It's so hard to find a good rabbit vet, but both of the vets (Dr. Ehrlich and Dr. Donato) I've seen at Radnor have been amazing. They both are very clearly knowledgeable about rabbits and their health issues and know exactly how to make Spork (my baby lionhead) feel comfortable, what things to check for, how to check for them, and how to treat them.

They are friendly, kind, and up front about details of procedures, medications, and costs. The vet techs also are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every time I've called to make an appointment, I've gotten in very quickly. I also appreciate the separate waiting areas and exam rooms for dogs vs. other pets, as I am am very allergic to dogs and Spork is afraid of them. Spork is normally very wary of strangers, but he trusts the folks at Radnor, and so do I. We're very happy here. Bring your rabbits to Radnor!

I own a tegu. The staff and care were excellent considering I had an exotic animal. They also take care of my bunny. The vet knew what to do for her, and the vet techs showed me how to give a large lizard an injection. The waiting area had lots of room to keep everyone separated and the exam room was spotless.

Can't recommend Radnor Vet enough, particularly Dr. Ehrlich who has been taking care of one of my goldens. She is extremely knowledgeable and empathetic. Everyone at Radnor is so kind and friendly which makes trips to the vet (that recently have been giving me a lot of anxiety due to a cancer diagnosis in my 1.5 yo golden retriever) a much better experience. We feel so lucky to have such good care for our doggies.

Dr Beaudry took care of my guinea pig Moth. I absolutely love my experience with her she made sure to address all my concerns and explain everything throughly. Their whole team is a well coordinated group from the front desk to veterinarian technicians and assistants everyone you communicated with will make comfortable. Thank you to the whole team for ensuring Moths health and reassuring his worried caretaker.

Radnor Veterinary has been amazing with our pet mice. Just recently one of our mice got sick and they fit her in right away. She is already starting to get better because of the antibiotics prescribed for her. The only hard part was figuring out how to get Isla to take her medicine--but we figured it out. The doctor gave us a few ideas of what might work to get the mouse to eat the medicine.

We put the medicine in some bread and also added a little bit of apple sauce and peanut butter. Then we put the one sick mouse in a separate enclosure twice a day until she eats her medicated "bread balls"--then she gets to back in with her sisters in the big enclosure. This is working great. We've also done our healthy mouse check ups here, and it's been a very positive experience every time.

The one thing is that we wish the office were closer to us. We are in the Lehigh Valley, so it's a drive to get to there. There just aren't many vets that see pet mice--I wish more vets worked with pet mice! Thanks for working on keeping mice healthy! We've been very happy.

Dr Principatti, has been incredible to deal with. Not only does she take the time to explain available options, she researches possible untried options. She is empathetic, kind, realistic and incredibly easy to converse and connect with.
Iโ€™m so Grateful for her and the care and compassionate treatment she has given Ellie my exotic pet, nursing her through two major surgeries. Please let her know sheโ€™s appreciated for what she does. My sincerest thanks ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š

My lab was limping while visiting family in Villanova and RVH took me that day, went over pricing (which was reasonable!), thoroughly checked my lab, found some pain areas, took x-rays as needed, diagnosed and treated my lab for arthritis, and I left knowing my dog was really competently and compassionately cared for by RVH! They really care about my pet and me!

It was always so hard to find a reliable Vets office that took care of rabbits and most of the time, the office had one exotic vet who came certain days. Radnor not only has multiple doctors who specialize in rabbits but they are always available. This past week I had to put down my baby but the doctors at Radnor went above and beyond and did everything they could.

They were so nice and called me every day while my rabbit was there. Dr. Principati And Dr. Ulrich have been a blessing and I truly recommend this Vets office to anyone and everyone, especially if you have small pets. They are professional, kind and just amazing. Thank you Radnor for helping all My babies and also getting me through a very hard goodbye this week. I know Oliver was in loving hands the whole time.

This is the best veterinary hospital on the mainline! I had to bring my chinchilla in for a check up and everyone was so nice and accommodating! I was worried about finding an exotic vet who would know how to properly care for her and they did an amazing job! I was so worried that my girl would be stressed and the vet was calm and knew how to properly handle and treat her! Thank you foe making our visit quick and smooth! Capri says thank you!

It was difficult finding a vet hospital that took bunnies, however, once I found Radnor Vet Hospital, I felt at ease. It was time for my youngest bun to be spayed and the professionals at Radnor Vet Hospital were very helpful when it came to the post-surgery care of my bunny. They were able to answer all of my questions and promptly called to check-in a couple of days later.

I also found their services to be more affordable than other places I called. The office itself was clean and well-decorated and everyone I spoke to was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend Radnor Vet Hospital for any furry friend! Thanks again for taking such good care of my Gemma!

We foster through Luv-N-Bunns and have taken several of our bunnies to Radnor Vet for spays and sick visits. Radnor vet is a special place. Everyone is warm and caring - from the receptionists to the doctors. They are rabbit experts, and if I ever foster fail, they will be our forever vet.

Dr. Donato is the BEST we've seen. My toy poodle was diagnosed with luxating patella and his regular vet recommended seeing a surgeon to explore treatment options. We've visited one surgeon prior who advocated for surgery without much explanation, so I made an appointment at Radnor Vet hoping to get more clarity. Dr. Donato gave my dog a physical exam, and explained in details the 4 levels of luxating patella and how his current mild condition should not require surgery. Dr. Donato did, however, also spend the time to explain the different techniques of surgery if that is ever required one day.
Dr. Donato is very knowledgeable, patient and provided full transparency and details. This visit gave me great confidence that the current treatment (medication only) is the best for my dog.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Had pretty positive experiences here, despite the unfortunate prognosis for my cockatiel. It's hard enough finding avian vets and only years ago, the only option in the relative area was at UPenn! It was easy enough to find the hospital and parking spaces were plentiful (proximity to the door is helpful when you're carrying a large cage, or walking in other animals).

Both times I visited, I was seen in a timely manner (much faster than my doctors) and was not left waiting very long. The exam rooms were nice and bright, and I always felt like my bird was in good care with the nurses. Dr. Ehrlich was very kind and informative when addressing my bird's issues. She went through the various treatment options and offered her recommendation as well, without putting any pressure to go one way or the other. I feel we all did our best for him, and when he passed (at home), Dr. Ehrlich followed up to offer her condolences, which was appreciated.

I love dealing with Dr. Meister and Radnor Veterinary Hospital! I see a tremendous dedication on everyone's part to working as a team and providing a superior level of attention to detail re: meeting the medical needs of my senior cat, Nala. I honestly would not go to anyone except Dr. Meister because I know that any feedback will not be thorough enough for me to trust about her condition. Dr. Meister has such a highly-developed interest in cats that he approaches illnesses in ways that go far beyond what other vets pay attention to or are willing to invest.

He puts tremendous effort into considering new treatments and alternative approaches when existing meds are not working. In my opinion, this thorough personal dedication to his animal patients is what distinguishes Dr. Meister from the other veterinarians I have seen in the past. I can only guess that the Radnor Vet team's dedication and attention to clients and their pets has grown out of the passion they see coming from the doctors and practice manager(s).

Brought my cat Cloudy over for her first visit today because she was feeling sick and I had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly including the resident cat who greeted me as I entered. Dr. Ehrlich was very helpful with Cloud and explained her issues to me clearly and with detail. I feel a better about my cat's health and trust the diagnosis I was given for Cloud. The building was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend anyone in the area to use Radnor Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for your help!

Please, do not take your pet to The Radnor Dog Club (Part of Radnor Veterinary Hospital). We boarded our pup there this week and my dog (18lbs) was attacked by a 115lb Mastiff due to the negligence of The Radnor Dog Club. They allowed 2 Mastiffs to be "handled" by a petite young woman (1 Mastiff on a leash and 1 Mastiff not leased at all) when one of them unexpectedly lunged my dog.

She was not able to control the dog as it sunk its teeth into the back half of my little guy. Now, they are refusing to provide me with any information to report this dog to the authorities, so this dog will have NO legal record of aggressive behavior. Although his flesh wounds and teeth punctures will heal, I'm terrified that this will negatively impact his sociability with other dogs.

Boarding at The Radnor Dog Club is not worth the risk!

I am definitely one to look at Yelp reviews before I use a service, and I admit that I was reluctant and skeptical about bringing my parrots to this vet, given the negative reviews. I decided to try them out anyway because I wasn't able to find another option in our neighborhood that I felt had a satisfactory amount of experience with birds. After having been a client for about 8 months, I'm very glad I decided to give Radnor Vet Hospital a chance.

Every staff member (with one indifferent exception, who I have not seen there since our first visit), has been courteous, friendly, and professional.

Dr. Donato and Dr. Bowers are both very knowledgeable about birds and patient about explaining our different treatment options. After every visit, we receive a follow-up phone call or email, usually from one of the doctors themselves, and they have always been very thorough in answering all of our questions.

One thing that really impressed me was how they handled it when another client brought in a sick bird while we were in the waiting room. The risks of exposure to ill birds in the vet's office was something we had been warned about by other bird owners, so this made me nervous. But rather than having the ill bird wait with us in the waiting room, staff members whisked her into an exam room immediately and then thoroughly mopped the lobby floor everywhere the other client had walked.

If I had any complaints so far, it would be that we have spent a good deal of money with this vet. However, I feel that this was really our choice, as we were always given clear information about our options, ranging from wait-and-see, to homeopathic remedies, to low cost medications, to state-of-the-art diagnostics. Living on the Main Line, I am used to paying top dollar for most services anyway, and I don't mind doing so if the service lives up to the price.

I recently read an article about how Dr. Donato and the Radnor Vet Hospital may be victims of a Yelp smear campaign, which is what prompted me to write this review. Given our experience so far, I am surprised there are not more positive reviews to counteract the negative ones, and I hope that more of their satisfied customers will come forward to relate their positive experiences.
