The community of Danbury has trusted us with veterinary care since 1981. That is a tradition we do not take lightly. This has always been a family owned and operated practice. We honor that legacy by continuing to grow and improve. We renovated our facility in 2013 to ensure that pets and people have a truly phenomenal experience - from using cutting edge technology, to accommodating a wide range of veterinary needs, to providing overnight care. We believe you deserve something special. That's why we exist.
Services
Annual exams are important in monitoring the health status of your animal companion, and can often allow us to manage a medical condition in its early stages before it becomes life-threatening. Changes in your pet's behavior, elimination habits, appetite or activity level may be clues that something is wrong.
We require a comprehensive patient work up, including physical exam, patient history, and in most cases, bloodwork, to ensure that your pet is a healthy candidate for anesthesia. We use the most up to date surgical and anesthetic protocols, including close monitoring of patient vitals such as blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature, and ECG.

Do not recommend this hospital to anyone especially to those who don't know what is needed for your fur baby. Went in for a rabies shot for my dog. a rabies shot nothing else. Never asked for a check up. Just a shot I got charged for a full check up that lasted 3min and the rabies shot! Ridiculous! And when I confronted them they were just so rude!
I also made it to my appointment early and got put into a room, front desk decides to call me saying I am very much late to the appointment and it's disrespectful. while I'm literally sitting in the room. A big scam and just very rude disrespectful/unorganized facility

Took my 3 week old kitten Diamond in the same day I called them. They never once hesitated about taking her in. Also they thought they were going to have to keep her overnight, but vet looked her over twice before I was told she was aloud to come home with me. Staff is very friendly. I always take my animal children to Plumbtree's when there is an issue. They always get me in ASAP.

Would not recommend this hospital to anyone me and my wife brought our dog there and was told by the Dr at the animal hospital that he was not the right fit for our family and was very disrespectful. This animal hospital serious needs to work on their bed side manners espicially after making my wife cry with the rude comments. If I could give this horrible and disrespectful animal hospital 0 stars I would have.

Showed me another cat's X-ray to scam me: Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but I must be honest. the good thing is that this occurred years ago when the Senior was around (don't know if he still is), haven't been to Danbury in years and I hope that things are better with the successor running the business. Back then, I brought my cat in (pulmonary issue), this guy (the old guy running the place) went to the extent of showing me an X-ray belonging to another cat which showed an obstruction telling me that she must've eaten a piece of fabric and that I didn't notice, and that it needed to be removed ASAP, pulled the scare tactics, quoted the procedure, over-night stay, etc.
But I knew my cat really well (she was the smartest cat that I ever had) and I just knew that she wouldn't just eat a piece of fabric and it just didn;t make sense according to the symptoms that I had taken her in for. Had a second look else where and it was all a scam and bull. That day he also took rectal temperature and my cat let out a very noticeable painful meow.
When I took her to the other Vet's, my cat didn't even react when they did the same procedure. Shortly there after, I moved out of Danbury and tried to tell a friend who took her pets there but she covered her ears refusing to hear because they were the only clinic she could afford. True story, have no beef with anyone there, don't even remember their name but will never forget this incident, just sharing this again so that people realize that they may be taken advantage of when scare tactics are used, when it sounds fishy, go for a second opinion. For the people in charge now, do right by people, dishonesty catches up with you. You can be great by being good, greed only pays off temporarilty and partially.

We started at Plumtrees several years ago after trying out a few other vets in the area. At the time we had just one dog, with a variety of health issues. We have since added a cat (rescued by Plumtrees) and a puppy. They are incredibly attentive & thorough, but also realistic in their approach to ensure the simplest (and most affordable options) are considered first.
We trust them implicitly and know we are in good hands. We first considered a move after our sweet and gentle but nervous dog was muzzled and roughly handled at a prior local vet. The same dog wags her tail and is at ease with the Plumtrees staff. When we wanted to add a kitten to the mix, they not only gave us a kitten whose personality fit the bill, but assisted in the trial process for nearly an hour to ensure our dog would acclimate safely. We could not be happier with our care. We have seen Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Baff and genuinely feel the vet techs love their job and our animals. 20/10 recommend.

I brought my dog to be seen by these very nasty people. They didn't tell me what kind of tests they ran on my dog that was in ALOT of pain. I told them how much pain he was in and through "curbside" appointment they called me to tell me it was an ear infection and that a $150 for optic solution would cure it + $150 just for consulting about the ear infection.
For 4 days he did not get better and the pain got worse so my mother brought him back. They said they would have to run tests and that it would cost $300. So basically they just want money and no cure because they should have done the tests the first time. I called to speak to the doctor WHILE my dog was there. And instead of assisting me with a technician or doctor that was with my pet, they were very rude over the phone, unwilling to answer any of my questions and then HUNG UP on me.
It's difficult to speak to anyone inside because of this coronavirus and since it's curbside they have the audacity to be EXTREMELY rude and I have no clue how they are handling my pet with the way they spoke to me and what they are doing to my pet since NOONE is willing to talk to me and I can't be inside. Now I'm left with my poor dog that is still in extreme pain.
I was warned not to go here previously and I'm warning everyone else. These people are not professional, and do not care about your pet. Just for telling us they wanted to do a test they charged $200. Total cost is much higher than other vets and I've paid so much money just for them to not care and not to cure!!

I recently started coming to Plumtrees Animal Hospital. I left my other vet due to an overwhelming feeling of being taken advantage of ($$$). The vets, Tech's and staff here are friendly and take the time to let me know what they would do in a scenario and what is necessary to keep my pets healthy. Our bank account is streched these days and we don't have the extra money to go above and beyond. PAH gets this and works with me to figure out my best options. Bottom line --- I feel like they are on my side.

I never take the time to write reviews but they are so amazing and caring that I feel compelled to. I have had 3 dogs in their care. I have seen all three vets there over the years. They have all been caring, understanding and have gone above and beyond in some very difficult situations and we are not the easiest pet owners to deal with a we are so very attached to our babies.
We had a diabetic dog and they made it their mission to control it and went above and beyond in a way that did not make me spend more than I was comfortable with. When we had to make the difficult choice to put one of them down they could not have been more sympathetic and professional. They treat my babies like they are there own. I would not take my animals anywhere but here and I have tried most of the other vets in the area.
